I just watched ‘Dominion’ today for the first time and I just have to say that in every single time dinosaurs started fighting, I heard “DINO FIGHT!” and air horns in my head. Thank you so much James for all of your wonderful videos and for making horror films even more amazing! ❤
The greed that humans have over these dinosaurs finally lead a human antagonist to straight up murder another person. Lockwood’s death actually felt like one of the darkest kills in the franchise.
"Wait a minute. Why didn't you leave the Dinos in their cells and opened the outer doors first? That would vent the place out and leave the Dinos locked up." Love it. 😂
To be honest, the dinos probably still would have died. It would vent, but far too slowly to make a difference if there aren't any fans to blow the poison out, and the poison is continuing to leak anyway.
Outside isn't outer space. It isn't a continuous vacuum that sucks everything out that's silly. Not only would it not vent the gas fast enough to save the dinosaurs but the toxins are coming from INSIDE the building. It wouldn't have done jack shit if it's continuously being replaced by more gas.
Apparently Iris, the girl's nanny, had a cut death scene too where she attacks and distracts the Indoraptor with a sword, before Grady comes in to save the kid. They should've kept it in, in my opinion, but boy this movie had a LOT cut from it
@@johnbigwick3027 this pissed me off so much. There's two islands. So why say they will be dying. Unless two and three aren't canon which is dumb as fuck

Honestly same here, and I didn't even grow up with the series. Well, I *did,* but I never really sat down and got lost in them like most fans. It was already so heartbreaking just to see such a beautiful creature unable to escape the inevitable (it would have drowned if it didn't die from the smoke anyway, I refuse to admit the fire got to it before that point). It was even more heartbreaking to realize that my favorite dino from the one film I *did* get lost in passed away here.
Overall cinematic tone is what matters here for me. JWFK as a whole is so silly that the moments which could have been poignant just don't work, because I've already turned off my brain to suit the film.
I think the Indoraptor was trying so hard to kill Maisie because of her Jacket! We see that it‘s trained to kill on command.. Red laser followed by acoustic signal.. She wears a red Jacked followed by her screeching. Well if that ain‘t an acoustic signal
@Margaret Bush bulls dont act like that bulls just go for what they see. They dont get mad if your wearing red, they get mad when you mess with them and piss them off
Based on the size ratios and the way Mosy dragged her under, I felt like it was implied that the Indo may have been nommed up but she wasn't swallowed up completely like the lady and the pteranodon. Seems like the attack was less food-driven than territory-driven.
Shall we talk about how the sleep darts were able to totally knock out blue for a good while after just a few seconds but just kinda paralyzed Owen for a few minutes.
@@kidx5024 so they would definitely kill a human. dinosaurs are tough as fuck yknow like mans got some Gucci leather all other her god damn body. she a fucken DINO, he a fucken MAN, he gon die

“Yo I thought you said this raptor was indo, seem like outdo” First time in a long time that something has made me exhale out of my nose so loud and hard
You’re not telling me a tranquilizer strong enough to take down a dinosaur in just 2-3 doses did not instantly stop Owen’s heart and shut down his body, killing him in an overdose… No, he was just asleep for 3 minutes.
Was gonna say "well he's a professional so he can handle it" but then I remembered that it was cooper who was the professional that can handle himself.
That's actually one of the less stupid things about this movie. How does he not burst into flames from the lava moments later? Why does a starved Baryonyx react to lava hitting its face like it got splattered with bodily fluids? And I don't care how smart the raptors are supposed to be, there's no fucking way it would associate the smell of gas with an imminent explosion.
Haha I love it when he's tearing movies apart xD "A new fighter jet costs the U.S. about 90 mil a piece, so a dinosaur's gotta be what, 2, 3 times that amount?" "I have 4 million dollars, anyone 5." "WHAT...?!"
Buy low sell high. I think everyone at the auction was already an investor so I guess that's why the dinos were so cheap to buy. So they get the wholesale price and take them back to get cloned and shit and resale to other black market buyers and the militaries for a much higher price
One thing I will never understand about the beginning is why they would go into the park, at night, during a hurricane, with dinosaurs, that they don't know if they are alive, in the dark, in the rain.
When the submarine recon guy says: "Anything in here would be dead by now," I believe he's saying that the Mosasaurus should have starved to death without anyone to feed her. I suppose she could have survived by hunting in a crocodilian fashion: grabbing dinosaurs that got too close to the water (like the Indominus).
“Who would design their park like that?!” In the previous film the mosasaur lagoon was completely landlocked with no ocean gate. It’s a stupid retcon so they can have it in the real world.
God this annoys me so much. If you bothered to pay attention you’d see that all of Main Street was completely submerged, the gate the Mosasaur went through was an admittance gate for people entering the park.
In a way it kind of makes sense I'm not saying it wasn't a bad plot point just to have the mosasaurus escape but mosasaurs from what we know lived in the sea meaning there requirement would have been salty water leading to the fact that the river was a man made channel designed to house the mosasaurus and I know this explanation probably misses tonnes of other plot points but it's fun to theorize.
wouldn't surprise me if the so called second most intelligent animal on the planet partially got to that point due to having trace human DNA used in sequence patching, likely also to, theoretically, make it more personable and responsive to people.
For the poisonous gas, there is an explanation. If something goes wrong with any of Wu's experiments, they can quickly use the gas to dispose the stuff off.
And basicaly this stuff wasnt for killing, it was used for disinfection and other stuff (as COOLANT FOR THE FRACKING REAKTOR THAT IS USED THERE! If nublar had a geoterm powerplant, than this thing, as its basicaly the FIRST lab, too). Nice unnessesary explonation thou.
I personally like to think that the indoraptor was just playing with them in the museum scene, because it seems in the Dino’s character to play with its prey, as the indominus killed for sport.
If I was a Indoraptor I would have done the same thing bc that's the most effective way to give your prey some false sense of safety and high chance of survival
Seems fair, after all the indoraptor had indorex dna wich the indorex was somewhat sadistic and enjoyed playing with its prey and kill for sport and even leave some of its victims to bleed out like it did for the 🦕 after it was on the loose on the previous movie
Toby Jones’ appearance made me remember that you guys on Dead Meat should do TV shows as well someday. Doctor Who would be great recommendation since most of the episodes have like 1-20 kills with only few exceptions where and I quote “Everybody lives!”.
That scene with the dumbwaiter, what’s her face and the indoraptor was clearly referencing to the scene in the original movie with Lex trying to close that one door in the kitchen and does it right before the velociraptor can get to her.
James didn't mention one of the most absurd parts of the movie: How is the Indoraptor not falling through the floors and roof of the mansion? Was the house built with steel beams or something? Thank you James for pointing out the other absurdities and for making excellent Kill Counts, as always.

@@petalblossom6107 whether its cgi or not is irrelevant, its still an animal dying a horrible death on screen which makes those like myself cry, because we hate seeing animals suffer and die
When Wu said the Indoraptor needed a mother, I thought that it was going to imprint on the granddaughter. Like how other movies have a creature that imprints on the first human that’s nice to it. I think the Indoraptor could have been cooler, it was basically just a more independent version of a velociraptor.
I feel like it's the same as the indominous. When Dr. Wu said that I think he remembered the catastrophe of the last mistake and wanted to avoid that wild behaviour again. The indominous was never given a parent and neither indo is still young enough to imprint and grow close to a parent figure at this point. As for independent, I would disagree. It's not... dependent on anyone but the laser trigger thing makes it hard for it to act independently And while this is totally irrelevant to your point I just want to compare it to the competition. Since that's usually what indopendent (heh) means. It's also much too dependent on it's intelligence to stand up to many other dinosaurs. It's shown to toy with it's prey and explore it before killing it but against something like an ankylo or even something as small as a pachy, a moment of hesitation or waiting could mean a broken leg or skull. It's designed to kill humans but other dinosaurs were never a factor. I think it's strengths are so overengineered that it becomes a weakness. It's just too specialized to live in a time that required a more... well not a generalized approach but maybe a more basic one. When humans started getting smarter it is theorized we were at one point down to only 10.000 surviving members. The only reason we survived was because the animals were overall less of a threat than a lot of dinosaurs, we could properly handle tools, and we could outrun almost all animals. None of those apply to the indoraptor. Sure it can open doors but it can't throw a spear and there aren't many doors in the wild. My point is that against any other dinosaurs it would still have to fight in close combat and it's just too "arrogant" to do that effectively. The only species it would be effective against would be those of a lower weight class which also rely somewhat on intelligence. So obviously humans and also the in universe raptors. Except they hunt in packs so unless the indo somehow manages to lure one away from the rest it would suffer too many wounds. The problem with it laying a trap is that many dinosaurs are simply too dumb to fall for it. A pachy would headbutt or run away from the indo wether it looked dead or not. And that's only if it has any reason to get close. All herbivores would just avoid it and the carnivores would either be too big for the trap to work or too many for it to pay off. The indo would have to scavenge for small creatures that can't outrun it or hide (which isn't alot) and already dead creatures but the problem is that it's brain is too smart and it's muscles too big for the energy requirement to be met. There's a reason why life has always traded muscle for brawns and vice versa. Either you're big or you're smart. Both would require too much energy. There's a reason why raptors are the size that they are. The indoraptor is literally the most dependent on humans. It's needs to be fed in exchange for performing tricks and whatnot. Like a dog. Except modern pets just have it easier while for something like the indoraptor it would be a necessity. That was long. Thank you for coming to my ted talk
What?! We have to wait until the end of 2021 to hear James talk about 'die-nah-saws' again? Nooooooo! P.S. This is definitely one of the best kill counts; and is absolutely my son's favorite. He's watched it like four times already, and still loses it every time it gets to DINO FIGHT *waah wah wah waaah*.
Uh, I’m pretty sure The Lost World and JP3 have clarified that people know about the dinosaurs on Sorna. Plus, they were owned by Ingen anyway, and it would save time and money if they just grabbed the dinos from Sorna and brought them to Nublar. Though my question is why didn’t they just bring the dinos to Sorna when the volcano started acting up?
Fun late fact: The dude “doing his task” who got eaten by rexy was originally supposed to be eaten by a dilophosaurus but they cut it but kept in the DAMN TRILL OF THE DILO!!
Funnier fact: there was meant to be a rematch of rexy and the spinosaurus when the volcanoe was erupting but instead they finally brought the carnosaurus
James to be fair, a shot from a tank, especially if it was an anti tank round, would go right through a dinosaur. Honestly I feel like buying them as war machines would be a bit ridiculous in general lmao.
also goes through a human and how many of those do we have fighting. tbf i get your point, the only dinosaurs that would be useful are velociraptors because they're quick and somewhat intelligent.
Dogs were used during ww2 in the Pacific campaign to flush out tunnels, a velociraptor would be a much more effective version for that. And an indoraptor could be used to clear compounds and area of high value, especially if combined with a separate squad to carry out sabotage to hinder the enemy reaction such as cutting the power.
It really is. It'd be one thing if we were talking about, say, using a raptor to replace a German shepherd in the military. But in the last film, Hoskins was talking about how raptors could "replace thousands of boots on the ground" and stand in for drones to do surveillance. That's absolutely preposterous. Just say that a raptor is a more vicious version of a military dog, for Christ's sake! If they're going up against soldiers in tanks (or even just infantry soldiers armed with machine guns), they're going to lose. Not to mention that an enemy could just drop bombs on them from aircraft or something. And I don't see how a larger and stupider dinosaur would have any value at all in the military, at least not since cavalry became outdated in World War I.
@@colinbaldwin313 The only way anything works the way the characters claim they would is if Jurassic Park is a universe where guns are close to worthless, there is no other logical reason to make loud angry reptiles that announce their presence other than for sheer shock value, anyone with a 7.62 rifle could unload into the Indoraptor and waste millions of dollars instantly.
I kind of appreciate how you didnt even need to mention the whole laser gun plot point with the indoraptor because damn that plot point was pretty useless I guess
@@Wezqu that just makes it dumber. Ignoring the fact that you're wrong in the first place, why would the indoraptor be programmed to attack ANYTHING that screams? The movie states that it was the specific noise toggle that made it attack. Not screaming
The laser pointer and then using sonic sound burst to mark a target that Indoraptor would take out. It was not any scream but a sound frequency. Her scream just hit by pure chance on that frequency area that needed for the mark and Indoraptor was a prototype when ever a prototype works perfectly how it was ment to in movies? Never.
There was a lot of things cut from this movie. For the part where the indoraptor smiled while it trick Wheatley, it would have been established earlier in the film by Eli that a worker that tended to the indoor was abuse to it for no reason, and smiling everything he tased the indo. The indo broke a light in its cage which made the guy go in there to fix it where he was killed by the indo, where it would have shown the indo smiling to mock the guy, and then cut to show the indo playing around with the skull of the guy. Sorry if that went on too long, but it sucks that that part was cut from the film, for no reason
While the grammar here does suck, I understand what you were trying to say. And the reason they probably cut that from the movie was because if that scene was in there it would definitely not be pg-13, if he was abusing the indoraptor, then thats showing animal abuse and then if the indoraptor played with the guys skull, than that would easily make it R

The scene of Rexy stomping on the Indominus Rex rib is actually a reference to a scene from Telltale's Jurassic Park game where Rexy does the same thing to the can of Barbasol that Nima drops just before a button press moment which determines the number of survivors in the game. Player has a choice of either having Nima go after the can or helping Jess out. Side note: It's better to go with the latter decision since the former leads to Nima getting eaten by Rexy and the can meeting with a terrible fate anyway. Dodgson explained in the first Jurassic Park movie that there was only enough coolant in the can for 36 hours and there was no way Nima, Jess, and her father to get off the island in that timeframe. I just watched ‘Dominion’ today for the first time and I just have to say that in every single time dinosaurs started fighting, I heard “DINO FIGHT!” and air horns in my head. Thank you so much James for all of your wonderful videos and for making horror films even more amazing! ❤
I’m mad that Owen didn’t have a nightmare of blue saying OWEN
But he suck this movie
speaking of dominion, where’s the kill count?
The greed that humans have over these dinosaurs finally lead a human antagonist to straight up murder another person. Lockwood’s death actually felt like one of the darkest kills in the franchise.
James: "AND SUFFOCATES LOCKWOOD TO DEATH OFF SCREEN!?!"
My TH-cam: "Perfect time for a buffalo wild wings ad"
I got a pillow ad no joke
@I love XXXTENTACION Rip x nice
I didnt even know Lockwoood got suffocated by a pillow before watching this vid.
It's kind of messed up that after Lockwood gets suffocated by a pillow, an ad immediately plays.
kids be like NOOOOOOOO he died TH-cam be like: ok roll the pillow ad the kid again be like: NOOOO DONT TOUCH THAT PILLOW YOU WILL DIE
"Wait a minute. Why didn't you leave the Dinos in their cells and opened the outer doors first? That would vent the place out and leave the Dinos locked up."
Love it. 😂
and they still could have had the whole scene with that kid make more sense
@@teleisha249 i'd love if some hot men are devoured by these dinosaurs
To be honest, the dinos probably still would have died. It would vent, but far too slowly to make a difference if there aren't any fans to blow the poison out, and the poison is continuing to leak anyway.
i literally yelled that in the theater lol
Outside isn't outer space. It isn't a continuous vacuum that sucks everything out that's silly. Not only would it not vent the gas fast enough to save the dinosaurs but the toxins are coming from INSIDE the building. It wouldn't have done jack shit if it's continuously being replaced by more gas.
Apparently Iris, the girl's nanny, had a cut death scene too where she attacks and distracts the Indoraptor with a sword, before Grady comes in to save the kid. They should've kept it in, in my opinion, but boy this movie had a LOT cut from it
News person: dinosaurs will be dead if that volcano goes off

As a smol lad who grew up on Jurassic Park, watching that Brachiosaurus die just…it hurt a lot and I genuinely cried.
Hell, I still get a little teary eyed when I see it, even here in The Kill Count.
Me too… me too
Honestly same here, and I didn't even grow up with the series.
Same here, me and my mom both got real emotional when we saw it ):
Overall cinematic tone is what matters here for me. JWFK as a whole is so silly that the moments which could have been poignant just don't work, because I've already turned off my brain to suit the film.
"Was that fuckin' Starlord?" Best quote ever XD
James' hatred of Owen Brady's "badassness" always brings a smile to My heart
I think the Indoraptor was trying so hard to kill Maisie because of her Jacket! We see that it‘s trained to kill on command.. Red laser followed by acoustic signal.. She wears a red Jacked followed by her screeching. Well if that ain‘t an acoustic signal
Ah
That is probably the best theory I've read on why it targeted Masie actually lol

@Margaret Bush bulls dont act like that bulls just go for what they see. They dont get mad if your wearing red, they get mad when you mess with them and piss them off
Or maybe it’s because it imprinted on her and saw her as it’s mother and wanted to say hello to her?? Or maybe it’s just sadistic, idk
Don’t forget the entire movie banked on the fact that the Mosasaur didn’t eat the Indominous, and just drowned her
Wow...never even realized that lol
Hybrids wasn't delicious
Based on the size ratios and the way Mosy dragged her under, I felt like it was implied that the Indo may have been nommed up but she wasn't swallowed up completely like the lady and the pteranodon. Seems like the attack was less food-driven than territory-driven.
bluesira I mean yeah, but it’s still a weak hold for a whole movie to ride on
Well that’s because she didn’t want to eat the indo rex she just wanted some peace and quiet
Shall we talk about how the sleep darts were able to totally knock out blue for a good while after just a few seconds but just kinda paralyzed Owen for a few minutes.
Yeah and blue also got shot
Plus those darts where specifically made for dinosaurs because a humans body and a dinosaurs body are very different

Was gonna say "well he's a professional so he can handle it" but then I remembered that it was cooper who was the professional that can handle himself.
It's Chris Pratt he took much worse
That's actually one of the less stupid things about this movie. How does he not burst into flames from the lava moments later? Why does a starved Baryonyx react to lava hitting its face like it got splattered with bodily fluids? And I don't care how smart the raptors are supposed to be, there's no fucking way it would associate the smell of gas with an imminent explosion.

Dude I love how you say the word dinosaur also I can't wait to see how Franklin interacts with a electric yellow mouse named Ryan Reynolds lol.
“Who would design their park like that?!”
In the previous film the mosasaur lagoon was completely landlocked with no ocean gate.

I personally like to think that the indoraptor was just playing with them in the museum scene, because it seems in the Dino’s character to play with its prey, as the indominus killed for sport.
You have a point as it did the same thing with wheatley
If I was a Indoraptor I would have done the same thing bc that's the most effective way to give your prey some false sense of safety and high chance of survival
Seems fair, after all the indoraptor had indorex dna wich the indorex was somewhat sadistic and enjoyed playing with its prey and kill for sport and even leave some of its victims to bleed out like it did for the 🦕 after it was on the loose on the previous movie
The part where they left the Brachiosaurus on the island is just depressing and ken wheatly got what he deserved.

I started tearing up when the brachiosaurus died...but when james said it was the one from the original I cried really hard:(
When Wu said the Indoraptor needed a mother, I thought that it was going to imprint on the granddaughter.
It's not... dependent on anyone but the laser trigger thing makes it hard for it to act independently
And while this is totally irrelevant to your point I just want to compare it to the competition.

@@AviationWithAbrar yeah i think raptors, including the indoraptor would be the only usefull ones for war

Saving Jess leads to Rexy crushing the can.
