I was convinced people were just overblowing this B-Movie thing since this didn't feel like a B-movie flick after watching it first hand. I still don't, it was more enjoyable than a lot of Big Blockbusters
@@abdgotchillsWell…just lemme put it into perspective by comparing this with the first John Wick. They’re both movies primarily focused around mindless action They both have fairly simplistic characters and plots. But somehow this movie has a budget nearly 8 times that of John Wick. And before someone mentions it. Yes, I know this movie requires much more CGI than John Wick so it isn’t really a fair comparison but my point still stands
I haven't seen this film, but I do like that this film subverts both the ex-wives tropes. Usually in films, the ex-wife is either an awful person or a love interest that the hero wins back. Here, she's neither and even encourages her ex when he finds someone new.
But who gets to decide what qualifies as “rights”? The management or union? Both can’t be right. Often times, like with my union, we’re fighting for complete nonsense that isn’t at all fair for the employer. Union employees generally are babies with way more rights than they should get.

I watched this movie in theaters with my dad when it came out. I consider it heavily responsible for the wonderful relationship that he and I have today.
Me too! My dad and I are going to see the new Meg 2: The Trench movie in theaters on August 4th! My dad dislikes, despises and hates all shark movies, except for the kid cartoon and animated ones that I grew up watching on as a kid! But even though he doesn’t like them, he’ll do it for me since I want to see it for myself, which is so nice of him! What a good dad he is!
I think it's just a reference to that bible story of the guy Jonas getting swallowed by a giant "fish." (Probably meant to be a whale but mistranslated)
After eating an entire slightly smaller Megalodon, how was the Meg still hungry enough to eat the doctor??? That'd be like finishing off a large pizza all at once and deciding to go back out for a small bag of Fritos
The Meg is a massive animal that needs tons of calories to survive each day. Not getting enough food and being out competed by Great Whites is what killed off the Meg millions of years ago when the oceans began to cool. Plus the Meg is warm blooded. It needs to eat more when it gets colder since its body will use energy to keep itself warm. The Meg in this film, more than likely, is feeling the affects of having traveled through miles of cold and deep ocean to reach the surface, hence the continuous carnage and eating.
Let's be real, we only one we ever cared about surviving was the dog. This and _Deep Blue Sea_ are easily the best shark movies that aren't _Jaws,_ a movie I can just have fun with. I saw this movie in theaters back in 2018 with 2 of my friends. The movie became an inside joke of ours because we thought it would be absolute garbage before we saw it but it turned out to be good. I nearly laughed out loud when I saw that it was getting a sequel. Definetly going to watch it in theaters.
There was something you forgot. At the end of the movie, you can hear another meg as they drove away on the boat. You can't hear it at first, so you have to listen carefully

I love creature features- they're among my favorite movies. I'm so glad they get featured on the channel sometimes. I was so excited when I saw Meg pop up in my notifications this morning. And I found this channel because of the Tremors and Critters episodes- Tremors being my favorite movie ever, and Critters (one and two, at least) being a favorite since childhood. I'll always be happy for more creature features.
Thank you James for making my day! I love this movie ever since I saw it, so the fact that you covered it on your channel makes me happy and thankful for you!

I like how you do the research into each main actor, and even some of the side character actors, and shout out the films/horror films they've done in the past. As well as the background and behind-the-scenes stuff, because I like scripts and reading screenplays, since I'm a writer too, but you can't see the behind-the-scenes of a film when reading just the screenplay or even watching the movie.

@@Im_everywhere_all_at_onceWriters and actors throughout Hollywood are striking for better conditions and wages. A lot of productions have been suspended as a result.
The solidarity in this strike is just amazing.
Massive respect for supporting the writer’s strike.

Loved the opening message! Solidarity is so important and I'm so thrilled that James, Chelsea, and the Dead Meat team are supporting the strike.
Writers I can get behind, but a Hollywood actor on 2million+ a movie waves, I struggle to sympathise with..
@@MorrisseyMusewhile i totally understand why you and others have that sentiment, the actor part of the strike is WAY more about small time actors, background actors, and tv actors, than it is about big time celebrities!
@CEWIIH most actors work part time as something else as they don't earn enough from acting alone
This movie is just so much fun to watch. You can tell the cast and crew were enjoying themselves.
There was something you forgot. At the end of the movie, you can hear another meg as they drove away on the boat. You can't hear it at first, so you have to listen carefully
Also in the part where the submarine explodes you can barely see a silhouette of a Meg also blowing up
@@miketrapper0464 oh yeah that’s true
Jason Statham is a lot of fun to watch on screen, and one of those actors that doesn't really seem to age.
21:48 You don’t know how relived I was that the dog survived, I thought she was definately eaten by the Meg.

This movie does just seem like a lot of fun. And it's really cool learning more about the practical stunts and special effects
not seeing anyone else appreciate the word play at 12:00 but “Hobbes it goin Shawty” is genius
Dead Meat team actually making me really excited by the potential of seeing more indie movies and foreign films on the Kill Count 😮
Thank you both for supporting working people and their unions. If there were more folks like you, all working people would have a better and more economically secure life. ❤
2:20 I had to like 5 screenshots of the shark breaking the glass in jaws 3 and send them to everyone I know. I just can't even get over how bad it is
When I first saw the Meg bite down on that glass I was impressed by the durability but had to admit by the damage it did take the glass probably couldn't take repeated bites. Lucky for the little girl, the shark didn't tempt it.
Referencing the musical Pippin which was the first musical I was in during middle school almost made me do an excited spit take! I love these videos and I’m beyond glad that you all are supporting the writer’s strike. Hats off to you all. You are all truly good people 🫶🏻
Another one like me! I was completely in awe when he mentioned no time at all and on the right track!
This wasn't a kill count I was expecting but I absolutely am here for it
I’m so glad you loved this move ❤ I had a total blast watching it, it’s just plain fun! Great video as always, much love ❤
I love this movie and I’m glad we’re finally getting a sequel
Thank you James for making my day! I love this movie ever since I saw it, so the fact that you covered it on your channel makes me happy and thankful for you!
adored by the Pippin musical reference, "Pippin decides it's time to start living, but in just no time at all..." perfection :)
and there's a second one! "she's got magic to do." much appreciated from a musical theater fan
OMG finally!!!!! I’ve been waiting for this kill count for literally years and it finally has come out. I remember one time I actually searched the Meg 2018. Dead meat kill count, but nothing came up and I was so sad but now I am the happiest man alive right now.
Always love the BTS knowledge james brings to these kill counts. It makes for great multiple viewings and it also means even if I've already seen the movie or wasnt a fan. I can still enjoy all sorts of new trivia. Thanks Dead Meat team. Enjoy the weekend
For a few years (I think until the pandemic started) a shark movie was coming out every summer and my family made a short tradition of getting together to go see them, this one included! I have a real positive association with this movie because of that so I'm happy to see you cover it before the sequel is out! Also I fully support what you guys are doing in regards to the strike. I know it won't stop you from making fun videos in the slightest
What a delightful To the Numbers Bit, and a fantastic Kill Count in general! Bravo, team!
Watched this movie with my mom a month or two ago,it was easily the funniest movie experience ive seen because of how cheesy it felt (doesn't mean its bad),glad to see you covering this one, james!
That was probably the best ad you've ever done. It was shot and edited great. Love it!
Normally skip sponsor messages but you made it flow very easily. I’m going to buy one after this video.
I’ve had one for years, it’s amazing
I like how you do the research into each main actor, and even some of the side character actors, and shout out the films/horror films they've done in the past. As well as the background and behind-the-scenes stuff, because I like scripts and reading screenplays, since I'm a writer too, but you can't see the behind-the-scenes of a film when reading just the screenplay or even watching the movie.
I have been watching Dead Meat for a couple of years and James never seems to disappoint me.
James you’ve provided me with the most enjoyable meal types with this luxurious entertainment for all these years, may your pillows be soft and cold and may your meals be hot.
I love how you guys added how the animation for the movie was done to bring more awareness to the animators!! I hope to pursue this industry in the future so here's to hoping it gets better!🤞
2:56 Ngl the lighting in this shot made him look like a certain Austrian Politician from the early 1900’s 💀
Alá downfall scene!
You never realize how brilliant these scripts are unless you watch with subtitles on.
"Hunky Dory" indeed. That earned a hearty chuckle from me.

THE QUEEN IS DEAD REVOULUTIONANNNN
I saw this movie eight (8) times in the cinema, have seen it over 20 more times since it came out on digital, and I regret NOTHING!!!
I genuinely think the CGI in this film is revolutionary, and it needs to be recognized for it, even if people don’t like the movie itself.
17:18 “they bond over Meg related trauma… and how hot they both are”
James you rascal xD
I recently rewatched this movie for Shark Week and to get ready for the sequal next week. Really loved this episode. That ‘To the Numbers’ bit was perfect. I look forward to ‘They Talk’ season 2 lol
I've not finished the video as I know it'll be great fun regardless, I just wanted to say I appreciate the both of you for just being decent, wholesome, people who will do what they can to help others who are trying to get what they deserve. You don't just ask people to "be good people", you stand as an example. Thank you!
One idea for you is that you could do "Killcount: (Media) addition" such as videogame, old TV or Murder Mysteries and such. Just a thought!
Now to enjoy the Killcount. Have a good day!

Meg really feels like a spiritual sucessor to Jaws, and I'm all for it
