It’s a ecvt which is different from a cvt but service is still required about 10k quicker than a traditional transmission like a 6 or 8 speed with gears. The ecvt is better than a cvt as the cvt uses a pulley system with cones connected by belts to change gear ratio. Which requires service around 20-30k. The ecvt is different as it uses a planetary gears instead of a drive belt and conical pulley arrangement and uses different input to get the most efficient gear ratio. But if they go bad, it’s expensive to fix as they sell you a new one or refurbished one. With a normal transmission you can fix the gears or internal problems (rebuild) so it cost less and is known to get a longer life. The ecvt is a lot better than a cvt but not as strong as a zf transmission which is know for 250k plus miles and service every 50/60k miles.
@@HawkeyeRidesWhat is the frequency of service for a E-CVT? I was asking because the Crosstrek hybrid supposedly has it and its based on the prius but i was surprised to hear the service interval is still 30k miles like a regular CVT. @@z1az285 the 25 model recommends 60k but to check every it 5-10k mile or 6 months. Depending on driving can change service intervals which can result to 30-50k services and because it’s a hybrid make sure you drive them. If parked for long term or not driving regularly it can drain the hybrid battery.
@@HawkeyeRides Many thanks for your prompt response. really appreciate it. that makes perfect sense 🙏. 60 k miles (or comparable) is still pretty good and though not as much as a automatic transmission is certainly a lot better than 20k-30k. also, i have been reading accounts of 12v batteries discharging and trickle chargers but great information for sure. Regards.
Its super disappointing that they removed a competitive motor from the lineup. Especially when the standard motor is so slow. The Camry is now significantly slower than Toyota's largest SUV, which is ridiculous. With the nicer motor removed, and the interior being typically Toyota boring, the LE seems the only option that seems worth paying for. But in their defense, it seems they kept the entire lineup under $35k, which is great for most American families who are being squeezed with unstoppable inflation. And for anyone looking, the interior dimension differences between the corolla and camry are EXTREMELY close. The Camry gains an additional 3" of knee room in the rear, but for the driver, almost everything is identical inside the cabin.
Toyota dropped the ball big time with this generation of the Camry, they only offer hybrid and on the XSE and SE trims they put good materials only on the front door panels, the back door panels are cheaply made, and no ambient lighting on the XSE, it feels like they went backwards with this generation, disappointed in Toyota!

And the fabric upholstery interior last longer and easier to clean.
And upgrade wirh Lasfit - floor mats ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
And to make it a bit more fuel efficient, I’d slap some nice extreme light weight Enkei - RPF1 wheels. 17’s will do fine with some nice Toyo proxes tires.
That be even better.

It’s crazy to think that all Toyota low cars are all CVT-only except for the GR Corolla and 86.
@@HawkeyeRides My bad. I meant “CVT” as in all rubber-band-like, inifinite ratio transmissions.
@@HawkeyeRidesWhat is the frequency of service for a E-CVT? I was asking because the Crosstrek hybrid supposedly has it and its based on the prius but i was surprised to hear the service interval is still 30k miles like a regular CVT. I thought it would be higher than a CVTbut not as much as an automatic (service interval). of course Subaru may have implemented it a certain way but i was curious about Toyota's figures

@@runiz77 it’s better on the 25
Toyota dropped the ball big time with this generation of the Camry, they only offer hybrid and on the XSE and SE trims they put good materials only on the front door panels, the back door panels are cheaply made, and no ambient lighting on the XSE, it feels like they went backwards with this generation, disappointed in Toyota!
The main focus is definitely on the hybrid and not trims
Camry is hybrid only
Yep the Camry has gone hybrid only for the new gen
Absolutely disappointed the way the new camry looks 24 was better. I have a 2011 absolute love. It will not be buying a new one.

Cannot find the Toyota Camry LE in south Ga. I wonder why? Plenty of SE and XLE but no LE.
I was at this dealership this week and they had 4 with a lot of se and XSE no xle
@@HawkeyeRides what dealership?
@@bobbyl3262 Gettel Stadium Toyota, it’s in the video with the contact information and description with a map link. They will be happy to work with you.
The world has changed since you last bought a new car. Nowadays most of a Toyota dealers inventory is not in stock, but "in transit"; i.e. ordered to be built or already built, but not yet delivered.
No hybrid for me.
I’ll buy a Sonata
