    Near the start of the 21/22 season I unfortunately got a serious knee injury. In this video, you'll gain a first person understanding of what professional footballers experience when they get a serious injury.
    Injuries can be a very difficult experience for footballers. Not being able to train and play games can have a massive effect on an individual mentally.
    So once this situation happened to me I challenged myself to document my journey with the hope that through staying positive and working hard day in day out, I can not only help myself mentally but also inspire others who are dealing with injuries who watch this video series.
    Especially as a Psychology student, I wanted to put into action the psychological skills I've learned about dealing with situations like a serious injury and how it can have a positive affect.
    Hope you guys enjoy Part 1. Part 2 will include the progression of my injury over the weeks and how I deal with it as I get closer and closer to being back on the pitch.

      Thank you! The PCL brace was such a massive help, seeing the knee consultant after 3 weeks he said it had already tightened up 🙌🏾

    Thank you for sharing your journey. I recently ruptured my PCL during training and coincidentally I am also a goalkeeper (albeit a futsal goalkeeper). I relate to the mental struggles of sustaining an injury and I am inspired by your positive mindset and professionalism. Wishing you success !

      Aaron Yu did you have surgery? Isolated ruptures are very rare but appear heal very well with PT. Recon of the PCL doesn’t produce slam dunk results.

      @unstxxzy it's not doing great bro, I've got to have another op due to scar tissue stopping me from having the full motion in the knee. So having to have another key hole 😫. Only a key to bend it to around 100/105°. Despite rehab and several gym sessions. Nothing is working. I had the double bundle. How about you? I had the graft taken from my hamstring, which I can definitely feel when I do certain stretches or movements.

    • @garyprice5329
      @garyprice5329 ปีที่แล้ว

      @unstxxzy it was on the NHS. So wasn't privately done as that's too expensive.

    Hi,
    I’m happy you are better now.
    Sorry If I’m disturbing but I injured my harmstring aswell and I’m doing rehabilitation exercises do you know gym machines exercises, no equipment exercises and upper body exercises I can do to lose weight while injured? Additionally what diet( food to eat ) to do while injured?
    Your help would’ve really helpful,
    Thanks for your time,

    Hello, I had an injury 7 weeks ago of my posterior cruciate ligament grade 3 but I found out 1 week ago that it was broken I didn't have a rest as you recommend that I start my rehabilitation therapy so that I don't have surgery

    Hi, please any one can help me with information or advice I'm 10 months post pcl surgery every thing going good but when I'm exercising my tibia hurts me, i feel pain in the insertion of the new ligament. Like if someone one hit me in the insertion spot.

    You have a great attitude. I have a high grade PCL tear, almost grade three. My recovery hasn't gone as well as yours. I've had a couple set backs. I can get around pretty well but I consider myself an athlete and play sports, hike alot, and do strenght training to stay strong but this injury has really set me back. I can squat, lunge, and do various exercises but any movement too dynamic like lateral stops, high knees or jumping cause my knee to feel as if coming apart or locking.
    One question: do you still have a spongy feeling in your knee, or have a posterior drawer of any kind or is your knee firm?
    Thanks

    • @Daniel.Jinadu
      @Daniel.Jinadu  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thanks for your comment bro
      I had a high grade three as well but due to the quick implementation of the brace the PCL was able to stiffen up quicker.
      No I don’t have any of those feelings now, but when I was just getting back to training it did feel a bit awkward but over time it was fine.
      All the best with your recovery 👊🏾

      Daniel, thanks for your response. I did not receive my brace immediately. It took almost two months to get my brace. During that time waiting I strained it twice doing things in basketball practice with my sons. Yes my posterior sag improve but if I push on my shin underneath my knee cap it feels loose and spongy. I'm moving well and if I wasn't interested in playing sports and being active I would probably be fine but I want to compete in leagues. I'll hold of on surgery another month or two and hope that stability improves.

      Hey bro how's your condition now. I've same problem, I had bike accident last month. I've high grade partial thickness PCL tear. Can it be heal with physiotherapy?

    • @Rondogg43
      @Rondogg43 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@fitfinetips I ended up having surgery in December 2022. My strength improved but my agility was limited due to the feeling of instability moving my leg in angles. The spongy feeling getting on a knee was uncomfortable and due to my profession and the physical nature of my job I needed the surgery to return my knee to a level of "firmness". After surgery my surgeon told me that my ligament was 90 torn and hanging by a thread. Eventually I was going to need surgery either way but probably not before injured my knee worse that it was. After surgery and 8 months of therapy I do feel much better but I still do have a 1+ posterior drawer with an end point. Im not happy with the wiggle or the spongy feeling I still have but it's much better than it was. Without the surgery the ligament was beyond able to heal on its own especially with my profession. I do honestly believe had I stabalized my knee immediately after injury I would have recovered like the video shows here. I did not receive my brace due to Dept of labor dragging their feet on my case and meanwhile I had to continue working which probably stretched the ligament further to a point it would never heal tight again. Look at Lamar Jackson. Same injury. I've read so much on this and I encountered enough people that have recovered even from a high grade two without surgery. I wish you the best. If you have not reinjured the knee I say take it easy for at least a year. Do some PT, without aggravating the PCL (lots of Quad work) with hamstring muscles very slowly introduced. Good luck.

    Hey bro I'm 2 and a half weeks after my PCL surgery. What's the recovery period and as hell I'm bored just wearing my PCL brace. Cant move my knee yet but just wanted to know how many months until I can like periodically status walking and running based on your progress and if possible for further details if you'd help me out. Also if you could give me some advice on some braces that I can purchase for my recovery.

      Hi bro I also hurt my PCL and it’s going to be the 3rd month. My doctor told me I tore my PCL and I must have a surgery if I want to play soccer or other sports again. But I am very hesitant about choosing a ligament implant. Could you please tell me whether you chose your personal tendon, a tendon form another one, or a man made ligament, and how your postoperative recovery was?Looking forward to your response ❤❤
