100% agree! Never keep in touch with an ex-girlfriend especially if they dump you. It's not enough that they stomp on your heart, but they also like to twist the knife and do shit like flaunting their new boyfriends around in a place where they know you will be.

My coworkers girlfriend just tried to spring a second "break" on him. He took the first one to heart because he agreed they got complacent during the rona. But he finally took my advice through the years to heart and put his foot down by breaking up with her. The chick has a lot of internal work to do and the only thing she could do during their convo was put down my coworkers recent hard times while ignoring the same problems shes had since before their relationship even started. I'm happy he stood up for himself, I just know hes gone a little silent so I'm keeping an eye out if he's regressed into her stupid traps again. If he did, he'll have to work through it on his own after I've given him advice many a time. At some point the well dries up.
If my suspicions are confirmed on his lack of a backbone I'll have to straighten mine as a lesson through drying up my font of wisdom for his situation. Being nice is a balancing act that men should be in control of before they go into relationships. That's some knowledge I've come to understand at this point in life and this situation reinforces that through what I've experienced in it

you never have to tell anyone they are fat. believe me, they know it, and its always on their mind. bill gave good advice, just talk to her about life, and if it comes up, it comes up. best thing go do, dont offer food based activities. dont go to dinner, dont buy fast food when youre with her, dont buy snacks for the house. offer to do healthy activities, but dont frame it like you are doing it so they can lose weight. just go hiking because its fun. play badminton. throw a frisbee. consider their capabilities, and plan activities that wont murder them. gaining weight takes years, losing weight is the same, and takes a commitment.

After i beat my own morbid obesity, my brother was still there so I moved in with him for a month and cooked him exactly what I eat.
Then I moved on to my mother who also 'HAD' diabetes.
Once they see eating healthy isn't plain bland food but actually better tasting food them the junk they sell you they'll take over themselves

Yup... that last story hits home. Same thing happened to me. She asks to come to my house party cause some of her friends were there. Like an idiot, I agree. Talk, chill, and had drinks with her all night. The whole crew leaves to head to the bar/club... she proceeds to start making out with a dude right in front of me at the bar. This was like a month and half after we had broken up, so everything was relatively fresh.
Needless to say, I lost all respect for her. Shitty move. Shitty person.

Broke up after an 11 year relationship... well that's your problem right there! For 11 years you were essentially telling your partner that you were only partially committed until someone better came along. You didn't marry the girl and maybe for good reason. Maybe you were never in a relationship or were never ready to take things to the next level. it's no surprise she would leave an non committed person like yourself.
Committment is a one-way street. She's always looking for the next best thing no matter what. 80% of divorces happen because the wife files for it. Those women had a guy that was committed and look what they did with him. This guy got off light because he was smart enough at least to not commit further.
