Met a fellow in Sandusky, Ohio 3 days ago doing a commercial property, he was mowing with a Ventrac. I've watched about every video there is on Ventrac. I asked him what he thought of his machine and his answer says alot about this product. He told me he has 2 Ventrac and 1 Steiner (with 16000 hrs. on it) he also said he has been in buisness for 33yrs and if someone took his Ventracs away he would quit the buisness. They are that important to his buisness. I'm impressed. Looking for a used one now.
Grown up in Ohio I've been around steiner and ventrac for years. They should be called goats the way they climb hills. I have drove a Steiner 440 and it's ok. If I were to replace my 430 the Ventrac 4500 would be choice hands down. I love the gages. Unlike the 440 you can easily see them and the warning gage on side is great easy to see. Ventrac took lots of time on design of this and shows. I love how they extra spots for switches ect. Ventrac is always thinking of new ideas so if they read this a one way stick like on a compact for up down left right for blade and bucket would be great. Also maybe a 6 way blade option you came out with the grapple on the power bucket witch is great. Also I would love to see a track opition. Everyone is going to tracks today with compaction so what better tractor than a Ventrac. Keep up the good work Ventrac I hope to upgrade and own one soon.

I guess there is something for everyone. I don't think when they made this machine they had lawn care companies in mind. This is more for parks, 3 acre properties and golf courses. If you guys ever decide to make something more portable I'll be interested but as now it doesn't seem as if I'm your target market.
Looks like a slightly stretched nose to handle the longer 3 cylinder engines... The phased out 953 Briggs diahatsu was an incredibly compact 3 cylinder.. I found out that none of the major manufacturers make a 3 cylinder that will fit the 4200 Ventrac and make comparable power to the 953 L/C Briggs.. I like the new parking brake and bigger steering cylinder.
Hey Steiner, your machine only hold 7gal. That won't keep you mowing all day ?.
The most important factor to me is to be able to change implements very easily. I shouldn't have to take the machine to shop to modify it to accept a Grapple Bucket like a Kubota Bx25D. It should come ready to accept all the implements that you claim it accepts.

cat small diesel engines are discontintued only engines are still making for different appications are KUBOTA that makes engines for any brand small,medium and large machines with a good affordable price and kubota is happy join other equipment for engines
It looks handy but also extremely uncomfortable
You should definitely try one out! One of the most common feedback comments we get from owners is that it's a very comfortable machine to operate. (It's because the oscillation keeps consistent tire contact on all 4 corners so every bump and imperfection in the terrain doesn't upset the machine as much as it would if it was a rigid frame)
Your Kubota is not practical for an infrastructural operation. OK for a contractor.
It's a real shame Ventrac is so over-priced....
