- Marcus drives a 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX wagon and discovers quickly why so many drivers in the Pacific Northwest gravitate towards the awd madness that comes out of this chassis. The Hawkeye is one of our favourite looking Imprezas and this one has some tasteful modifications to make it more well-rounded in every way. Enjoy!

Constructive criticism not just for this video but all your videos. Go in a lot more depth on what mods they have, brand, exact mods, etc. Either in a list in description or go through and list every one verbally in the video. Keep up the great content though!

2.0 WRX STI doesn't have enough low down torque to be a good daily. That's if OP is buying a daily driver.

The only Soobie wagons I ever see are Bugeyes. Heck, I hardly ever see the Hawkeye in SEDAN form here. It's mostly just really thrashed Bugeyes and hatchbacks.
I have an '04 Blobeye WRX sedan (which I love - use it as a daily that replaced the Jetta my dad gave me when I got my license 3 years ago), but my dream Impreza is a Hawkeye WRX wagon (I'd put in some STI stuff though)

I loved my 05' WRX STi. It was a little slow on top end but, it was hella' fun around the twisties and every day driving.
That's because it's not jdm ej207 sti engine
I own an 04 wagon so very similar to this and it made me so proud you reviewed one!!. They're tough, versatile and too much fun to blast down (dirt especially) any back road you find. I simply love your video work and the essence of each vehicle you drive. Keep at it!!

I have an 06 WRX wagon. Same color and everything, except rims. It's tuned with a turbo and intercooler from a 2011 STI. Pretty fast. And VERY fun

The stage 1 tune is not 260hp and 300ft/lbs, that's more or less a stage 2 tune...stage 1 is about 245hp and 260ft/lbs...But other than that great review. I have the same car just in blue, and I love it! Wagon life is awesome :D
Cobb stage 1 is approximately 255-260 hp and 300 tq. Depends on the octane you're running. Stage 2 is 280hp and 350 tq. Again depends on the fuel. Plus this car is a 2.5l and not a 2.0l so there is a decent difference.

+boarderboi7 I got those numbers from the Cobb website. My brother is running Cobb stage 1 on his 2006 wrx and mine is still a little faster. 260 is just an estimate for me. I will take my car to the next local dyno day.

Subaru people, I need help. I have a 04 wrx with the 4eat (haha, I know I drive an automatic) and my engine broke recently. I wanna swap my engine with the jdm ej205. Does the jdm ej205 also have to be an automatic for it to fit my car? Or does it not matter?
Just drop the money on a 207 and 6 speed

Depends on how you maintain it. EJ engines don't like to be lugged and put under strain that way. Doing that is what kills ring lands and spins bearings.
I dunno if it's the audio quality from the mic but this muffler delete sounds awful imo.
It's the wastegate I believe
Yeah it is the wastegate that makes the in car noise sound a little strange. For some reason, the wastegate pretty loud on my car. However, the in car sound is a bit different in person.
+Coastal Velocity you should get a proper exhaust. would make it sound better. The delete is just noise. no actual power upgrade. make sure to get a tune.

I feel the 05 was probably one of the best best years for Subarus over all, they all looked fantastic and they all were so much fun to drive

I have to replace the head gasket on mine and if the heads are warped i have to get them shaved down. Which will cost 1500
I hate how some refer to mods in stages. No stage 1,2 or 3 etc. lol. Just list the mods for others to see and get ideas from.

Window tints are cool, but seeing as how front side windows tints are illegal, I personally think it wouldn't look that great only having the rears done. If I could have all the windows tinted, then it would for sure happen. DRL delete is Illegal as well...

Did it come stock with HIDs?
Stash Box Hawk eye STi came from the factory with HIDs but the WRX did not. I switched over to LED bulbs a couple months ago.
well I just got the Japanese wrx and it came with them.
Stash Box I'm referring to USDM Subarus, not JDM.
What conversion kit did you use? i have an 06 wagon myself and ive been very weary when it came to led bulbs because I was concerned with the led plugs not fitting with the stock headlight plugs.

Stunning car, I used to have one pretty much exactly like that and I miss it everyday. It looks amazing but those wheels are horrible which lets down the car. Love it other than that.

That sound is the wastegate. Car sounds awesome from the outside and definitely isn't getting backed up. The factory muffler is much more restrictive than my muffler delete.

it's a muffler delete. cut out the muffler and replace it with straight pipe.
