My absolute favorite thing about this game is that it barely takes up 3 GB of space. This game is so small that you have no reason to ever delete it, and yet it is so large at the same time. I'm convinced that the devs sold their souls to the devil.
I love games like those, great for people like me who don't have space for a computer in their home and have to settle for a laptop
Ah.. compression, something that's almost abandoned by modern devs because apparently it's okay to unnecessarily filled up player's space by trash files and uncompressed data BS
@@hacooray525 if the game is 200gb you have no choice to play other games, this shit is made on purpose.

Props to Sseth for teaching proper Deep Rock Galactic etiquette, with no double dipping and always saluting and such.
asking to double dip is like asking your girlfriend to put it in; just makes everyone unhappy. just take a resup if you're about dry baby.
edit: also, look at everyone else's ammo supply and think about who needs it most
@@nohomo4774 dont do this
Downloaded it a few weeks ago, the etiquette tips in this video really helped, I'd have been totally unaware otherwise.
Also, it's kinda simple as to why you don't do certaint things.(or do)
Taking someone's reupply can leave them Low on ammo
Not lighting up rooms in advance as scout even though you have a tool just for that, is slightly annoying at best.
Not taking agro as gunner means someone else has to. Despite you having abilities specifically built for that. You force someone (likley more vulnerable to atacks) to deal with the enemies.
Double dipping here is just like double dipping your chips in the salsa everyone uses at the table..
You know a community is truly beautiful when Sseth actually tries to help make the games more civil instead of trying to get people to spam hentai mods and abuse cheese strats.

The devs of Deep Rock are amazing.
One time me and my friend had a weird bug not allowing us to connect, citing an error so niche, that it yielded no results in steam forums or google search. When I filed a support ticket I got a response like 20 minutes after from an actual human (not an automated bot message) saying that it should be fixed by 5 PM.

Important part about the Seasons and Battle Pass: they’re completely free. I’ve had to tell too many friends that scoff at the Season terminal, “Wait! The battle pass is free!” since no other developers do that.
Don’t have the time or missed a season? Don’t worry. Any new cosmetics go into the pool of equipment you can find during missions. So you’ll find them eventually.
This is so bad ass
Seasonal missions stick around, too. You can still do Rival Presence mission types (EDIT: sorry, that’s “Corporate Sabotage,” Rival Presence is a mission modifier) even though it’s Plaguefall, and undoubtedly Lithophage Infestation and meteor drops will stick around when the new season hits.
It's truly an amazing game by amazing people
This so much. I've explained this to friends that "actually, this is some sort of weird ethically monetized video game that doesn't waste your time". New premium cosmetic pack comes out, I jam that money into their moneyhole to support their efforts. I'm hoping other games follow DRG's example.
@@tonyelectionfraud669 the devs really care about the community. All updates are free. Each season comes with new cosmetics. They just do cosmetic dlcs on the top for the people that wanna support them. Goated devs over at GSG.
Few things are ever as hype as a Sseth video.
Two videos from him in less than a week? Now that... That scares me.

I'm worried about him now tbh
Ever since Paul Anthony Romero dedicated a vid to him, Sseth has been in an inspired frenzy!
Drg players exhibit more honor than some of today's soldiers it's actually fucking insane. You could be playing with some complete stranger on the other side of the world, language barrier and all, and if you get knocked while on the way to the drop pod, he'll trudge through hell and goo just to get you back on your feet. It's a universal bond stemming entirely from some game and I just can't fathom how it even formed. Rock and stone
I actually did that a little while ago, turning back to save someone.
I didn't notice why he died till he said "i dropped into a hole to get Doretta's head, we can't leave her behind".
We made damn sure he was the first to enter the Pod with Doretta's head.
i love just rushing back to downed dwarves just to make sure no dwarves left behind even though i know for sure i will have no ammo left when its time to board the drop pod

Got DRG for 10 bucks last week after watching this vid; the positivity from the community is well-deserved. Brilliant humor, very immersive setting, truly honest and caring developers and plenty to do. The influx of new players is more of a mixed bag than the vets are, but 3-4% assholes and only ~30% non-communicating players are damn good ratios in gaming - here in medieval Europe anyway. Get diggin'.

I love the voicelines in this game, they go "mining is hard work, good thing we're dwarves"

I remember one time dottis head got lodged in the ceiling so our digger tried and failed to dig around to her as he didn't know how way points worked (press e while pointing with the laser pointer) so I the engineer got the gunner to stand directly underneath so I could summon a drop pod onto him and it would knock down dotti....

Yeah it's terrible, we need to force Sseth to play Ring and put him back on Ritalin.
Say what you want about a driller, but when it's time to leave and your only options are to try and navigate back through miles of twisting tunnels or guard us while we make a direct path, I know which one you'll take. Rock and stone!
One time as a scout I was alone in a mining mission and I ended up digging a mile long hole down due to being very lost on where to find the remaining of my objective...... then three people joined me in my hole, and we spent half an hour digging back to the main cavern
sometimes you just gotta be your own driller, especially when gunners minigun can be both a flamethrower and a kamikaze explosion
The shortest route from point A to point B is a straight line.
I'm not risking brick of C4 in the face.
Another thing to add, all the Free, season pass cosmetics are never vaulted, they're just moved to lost packs and cargo crates, that you can find in missions. Seen that sweet weapon skin from season one, you can find it for yourself if you play enough.

FYI:
Not only is the season (battle) pass 100% free, but any rewards from missed seasons are simply added to the in-game vendor or become findable in missions. Even in-game holidays dish out the previous year(s) cosmetics alongside new offerings for the current.

I always appreciate being informed so much ahead of time that a video is releasing.
I was informed of this video dropped 3 minutes after it started. Seems about right
The cool wind felt good against his bare chest. "I HATE DIGGERS" he thought. The Last Ascent reverberated his entire zipline, making it pulsate even as the $9 beer circulated through his powerful thick veins and washed away his (merited) fear of glyphids after dark.
"With a Drop Pod, you can mine anywhere you want" he said to himself, out loud.
There could be diggers here.

50% of Sseth's games he covers are fairly well known, I've played Space Station 13, CoH2, and Neo Scavenger way before the videos. However the way he looks at games for jokes tends to be unique, and the other 50% of games he covers I've never heard of before.

There are also DLC skins, but unlike other games the community won’t make fun of you for using mommies credit card to buy them, because they realize the money is going to help cool developers who’ve made a cool game. Also the skins look pretty dope.
Also, the coolest/glammiest skins (like gold skin) still need to be unlocked traditionally. DRG is a game that actually feels like a video game to play, which is rare enough in this day and age-the fact it's also just flat out *good* is a veritable miracle. True lightning in a bottle.

Rock and stone brothers!
The first time I walked into the Memorial Hall, something came over me. Without knowing it I was immersing myself in the world of these Dwarves. Their spaceship is a glorified Oil Rig full of heavily armed Alcoholics and run by bureaucratic pencil pushers, yet they made space to commemorate all those who were unfortunate, who didn't make it out.
I realized then and there that this game allows me to be something special, to explore a level of comradery that I would normally not get with random strangers.
And I vowed to Leave No Dwarf Behind.
I did that.
Then I realised...xp is xp.
And those green beards I carry deserve it. They deserve a promotion. They deserve new guns and over clocks.
Even if I gotta leave them behind to deliver the goods, I'm getting them their xp.
We love to quote the propaganda, but we also like our shineys.

Aye. I recently played a game with some green beards (new players) as scout when I noticed two of my dwarven team mates got downed while the other continued on. Decided to turn back into a mess of praetorian glyphids to try and revive our gunner so that he could throw down a shield and save the driller.
Ended up me and the gunner running back with the countdown timer reaching 0 so we just raised our pickaxes to the one dwarf who got out successfully as the drop pod left us behind. The downed Driller was host and was very green but hey we tried. ROCK AND STONE!

For anyone struggling with the OMEN fight, here's a tip to make it much easier: the buttons have a high hitbox for what is considered to be standing on them, this is to allow you to jump over the purple wave lasers, but if an engineer places platforms at dwarf-head height above the OMEN buttons, it means everyone can safely just stand on them without worrying about the purple lasers at all, and it still counts as standing on the buttons beneath to reveal the bosses weak spots
The bottom of the platform must be head height...trust me on that
Thanks for the tip, I'm gonna spread it to my friends. It's the only thing that poses as much of a threat as the nemesis in short, compact tunnels

I like to imagine Karl was originally the CEO of the "Company" of DRG, but he was a forerunner that fought along side the dwarves as a miner, and sacrificed his life for his fellow dwarves who work for the company during a particularly horrific dive.
I like this idea, because it explains the loyalty the dwarves have to the "company" despite the clearly stressed relationship of "Mission Control" and the dwarves. Karl was their original boss, and he died for them, fully believing in the company. I also like to imagine the "no dwarves left behind" thing wasn't made by the company itself, but rather the dwarves after being forced to leave Karl behind against their will.... Perhaps, maybe, the whole dive was sabotaged by the leaf lovers, which is why the dwarves hate them so much.
Basically Karl was like if Batman fought crime as Bruce Wayne himself, and was like the complete reverse of "Kingpin" in that an empire was built for the sake of others. Plus it explains the apathetic and annoyed nature of Mission Control at the on-duty dwarves, perhaps they loved Karl too, and blame the dwarven miners. IDK.
tbh I think karl is almost a Stakhanovite movement type thing, and the company is enforced so much propaganda the workers feel as though they knew him personally
They say hoxxies wasn't cracked until Karl was left behind.
It's also implied (I think) that the dwarves you play as are actually clones and that could mean that Karl is the OG

Someone in a lobby I was in recommended this video, and by god am I glad they did. This is hilarious man. Nice work, and ROCK AND STONE!
"As short kings, we crave violence"
As a tall woman I felt excluded, then I realized noone takes my anger seriously irl so it's still realistic :(
When Sseth said "It's Rock and stoning time!" and started dwarfing all over the place... I truly felt that
Go back to your swamp and drain it.
I'm conflicted on this meme's use here, as it accurately describes what happens in the video.
THIS ISN'T AND WAS NEVER FUNNY. FUCK OFF.
Not funny
@@Scroolewse Not funny? This is a serious channel, of course its not funny.
I absolutely ADORE how chill the community is. Everyone's there to have a good, wholesome time. And if you're not? You're getting the C4, leaf-lover slurs, and a kick.
But
Fail to stay alive on the lowest difficulty? ROCK AND STONE!
Dropped all the objective minerals down a hole? ROCK AND STONE!!
Accidentally kill the entire team? ROCK. AND. STONE!!!
i fucking love this community
DID I HEAR A ROCK AND STONE?!
Seriously this community has been discribed as a hive mind and I think it is accurate. Except it isn't a hive mind per say we just all share the same drunken concussed braincell
@@NameIsDoc ROCK! AND! STOOOOONNNEEE!
It's chill until you say you speedrun and don't mine gold.
However, that's only on reddit.
Just do as host says and everyone is cool in the actual game.
Jokes on you my dwarf IS leaf lover ... well, lover. Secretly anyway. He'd never admit it to anyone. Least of all other dwarves. But he just likes the taste. (It's just my silly head cannon please don't make this an ordeal I know the other drinks give more important buffs)
All that aside though I love this game and wish I could play it. But I can't make it past the start up screen 99% of the time. My computer sucks. The few times I did get past it ive had such a good time. Especially since mods allowed me to swap the gunners zipline for the scouts grapling hook. Also bosco is the best character in the game other than Karl and nobody can convince me otherwise. ROCK! AND! STONE!
7:18 well only acceptable time that you cant rock and stone is when you are carrying doretta(drilldosers head) because you will drop her and without her you cant mine the funny rock

Brings me back to the announcment of the season 3 DLC when i contemplated the newest gasmasks.
"Those masks are entirely non-functional! They provide no real protection!"
"These masks are prefect! Protecting the face while letting that beautiful bead flow."
DRG is going to keep getting bigger and bigger. I hope the dev team can deliver. Also I secretly hope for more lore after people realize that after a certain point you're playing only for the gameplay loop and skins.
The gameplay loop is always fun to come back to. Even with 1000+ hours I still drop on for a few missions a week. Always nice to show some greenbeards how smoothly haz 4 can go.
That's cuz DRG is my--
@@bbbbbbb51 there's nothing quite like dropping in on some Greenbeards and just running supervisor, making sure everyone's making it through alright, rezing full squads like some kinda guardian angel
Who would have thought that a player playing a game would come back to it to play the game
Hopefully the next content drop is something a bit more enjoyable, barring the engi grenade one could argue that the entire update exists to make life hell.
KEY DETAIL ABOUT THE SEASONS
The battlepass in the game is free with no paid option. More importantly, anything you don't get in the Season Pass when it ends gets added into the usual lootpools, so there's NO FOMO.
The only FOMO is not buying this game.
“Engineer making a Kaizo Mario obstacle course“ 🤣🤣🤣
From henceforth, I only want to be referred to as "My Digga"
I humbly thank the merchants guild for sseth's new uploading schedule
The wild part is he hasn't even charged us in forever, he's somehow been getting actual sponsorships. He did say in his update for this video that we would actually be getting to contribute soon. Karl only knows what he's up to this time
@@masonspencer9492 We've been begging him to take our money these past few videos. To be exact he hasn't charged us Merchants since Songs of Conquest which is... 7 free videos.

1:29 driller makin me feel a type a way
Coming back to this video after putting 50 hours into the game, I can't believe how much jokes went over my head and couldn't stop laughing. The first time I watched this video, it made me bought the game but a lot of what's on the screen is just nonsense to me so now it's so much better.
As a scout, I no longer dying to a cave leeches after carrying Heighten Sense but it does not stopped me from getting leeched. Now that's out of the way, I have yet to fix the problem of dying from a suicidal grappling in the dark.
The best defense against cave leeches is wearing headphones. You can hear them 😉 rock and brother, stone.
You can actually power attack a leech as it's about to grab you & kill it.
As a 5'7 geo major, I can confirm that every field geology course is populated with stout bearded men digging holes, staring at rocks, and complaining that the sun is too bright.
edit: we may or may not be sober while handling the sensitive mapping equipment
Don’t lie to us, you’re drunk off your asses before each dig.
Ah, a fellow geo. My spring breaks in university were spent getting shitfaced with professors in the American southwest talking about rocks.
A shame I'm a lanky 6'2" peasant instead of a true 5'11" short king.
In my first online game of DRG I didn't know how to ROCK AND STONE and the two guys I was playing with were so confused that I wouldn't say it back. I just want to give a heartfelt apology to those brave heroes, if you're reading this just know that I have punished myself appropriately.
“We crave that *mineral* ” indeed we do, brother.
Hey sseth just wanted you to know that because of this review me and some of my best friends have had the most fun we’ve had playing video games together in months rock and stoning. karl would be proud of the good work you are doing getting new recruits like me!
The best thing about this game is that is has HEART. Management might not care about poor Dotty, but you still get rewarded for it... You get the respect of your teamies :)
Not to mention all the fun throwaway lines with barrels and mushrooms, Molly, petting the little cute things like Lootbugs and mouth-things in the Radioactive tunnels, and slapping the sacks on the ceiling!
THEY ARE CALLED POG PLANTS
The "I love mine(0)rs" followed with mayo landing on Golden Play Button has a fair bit of symbolism, I think. 5:57
"Why do we mine?"

Watching Sseth include Hunt clips in a video warms my heart.
Yeah, the incredible wonderful Hunt which even attracts non-pvp-attracted-players like me to it, would be surely worth a topic. If they would get a grip on their server performance for once, for hell's sake!
HUNT!
God bless the fellow dwarfs of DRG.
Never had a negative player in my games.
Leaf no dwarf behind!
don't worry, this vid will fix that
Only had a few leaf lovers in my games but I hope this video doesn't make it more common
I agree, 90% of the players in this game are fun and supportive
I had plenty, but overall, the community is by far the best I've ever ever seen.
Like with l4d2's playbase and similar ones, game sessions are usually great during the day time until near midnight.
That's when you come across the goblins....
being a 5"11 short king myself, this game truly speaks to my soul
"Sovereignty requires Monopoly over violence, and someone just bought Park Place" is unironically a hard as fuck line
The thing Sseth didn't explicitly say about the Seasons is that they're 100% free, with no paid content at all (aside from extremely optional cosmetic DLC to support the company) and that all in-season content gets added to regular loot pools after the season ends so no FOMO.
Additionally, the way the game is set up the new cosmetics don't dilute the pool of gameplay-altering upgrades; Machine Events will always offer you two Weapon Overclocks and one Cosmetic (until you clean out a dwarf's weapon pool), plus the Deep Dives and Weekly Core Hunt always gives a Blank Core, a Weapon Core and a Cosmetic Core.
It's A++ game design.
Yeah, aside from the devs being cringy leftist freaks, who are censoring (and banning) conservative oppinions by every chance, they are pretty sympathetic!
Basically, it’s heresy according to the game industry at large, and that’s a good thing
I played DRG when it was in early early access and still had placeholder models for guns. The gunner still had satchel charges. And I told my friend, you know this feels like a more finished game than vermintide 2
I think they one upped Vermintide 2 in terms of unfinished by releasing Darktide
Tbh Vermintide 2 eventually got REALLY f good. So i think its comparable to DRG minus free dlcs
As a player of both I would argue Vermintide 2 is in a very good state right now, the only issue is the lack of update, and with that mess called Darktide the update frequency is further decrease. But I would recommend give it another try if you haven't try Vermintide 2 since then.
well we have darktide now to have the lowest low to compare...compare to it VT2 looks like a well polished and stable experience with great game design kekw
i will give darktide this: it is much more stable than vt2. So when they get around to finishing it I think it'll be a better game
Allow a moment of your time greenbeards, and I will share with you tales from the dark times. When we first set boots upon Hoxxes while searching for Karl, there was a terrible menace that dwelt within the planet. Bulk Detonators that would stay motionless and undetected until the worst possible moment: when we walked over them. The beasts would detonate before hauling their massive bulk out of the ground, almost always injuring any dwarf unlucky enough to be near the blast zone.
After the first dwarves returned with tales of such an abomination, many were skeptical. Surely such large and cumbersome creatures couldn't hide so well in rock and stone as to escape the notice of a dwarf. When more drop pods returned with empty seats and singed beards, we took note. Management told us it was nothing to worry about, that the tales of a few scared greenbeards should be of little interest to veterans such as ourselves. But those that were lost were good friends, brothers we had dived with, had drunk with. They wouldn't fall to tall tales.
Our brothers fallen, but never forgotten. The plan was simple: we would descend in massed drop pods with more dwarves than they were designed to handle (each drop pod held a dozen dwarves each) and crush the source of these nightmares before the enemy could react. The plan went sideways the second our boots hit dirt. Entire drop pods went dark as we landed, and most of our heavier armaments were scattered and lost. We realized too late that the enemy didn't need to send reinforcements, as the place wasn't a spawning ground; it was where the beasts went to breed. Hundreds of them, and with our arrival their attention had turned to us.
Gunners dropped their shields so the engineers could deploy their turrets. The drillers, having recently acquired their cryo cannons, went to work slowing and stopping the enemy counter attack. And the scouts, those mad bastards, they dove straight into the oncoming horde of detonators and smaller ones, triggering cascading detonations that crippled the enemy forces. Not all of them made it to the far side. We fought for every patch of blasted rock and dirt. Fought until we found the blasted pit from which the monsters came and the drillers, long since out of ammo, ordered a retreat to the pods, so they could bring the entire cave down on the enemy. And not a dwarf took a step back until the drillers had dropped their payload. Not a dwarf flinched as their ammo ran dry and their arms began to ache from swinging their pickaxes.
Fewer of us made it back than we had hoped, but the deed was done and as the drop pods roared to life and lifted us skyward the detonations rang out, thunder in the deep.
(For context, there was a period of time during the game's development where bulk detonators didn't have a minimum radius from which they could spawn away from dwarves, so they could frequently ninja spawn under the team while you were running back to the drop pod. It was a hilarious bug (pun intended) that the devs fixed, but made for good stories.)
2:12 As a scout main, I can confim we do in fact quantum tunnel and sometimes we do it subconsciously
I just love when Sseth's inner Mandalore shows up and does the electric shock 2:34
The voices saying "put the Marv scream" are back...
