What animals would you want to see in Alaska?
Moose
Lot of times the fauna there will pick whether to be seen or not. See what turns up. Like kitty

I've seen one wolverine, and I've been in the middle of a road as a part of a herd of caribou streamed past me on either side, as they crossed the road. I'd like a repeat of those experiences. Caribou in a large group kind of nimbly dance/run/glide together a little like a murmuration of starlings, but the caribou version of that I think is pretty darn beautiful. Which is why I truly hope to be in the midst of that again. Eagles seen from a mountain peak or steep cliff, can sometimes be dramatically beautiful. Would love to have more of those experiences too!
Eagles hunting; close enough to really see them. And of course wolves.
Just added this to my bucket list. Train, hikes and more Alaska.

Thanks for sharing. I have taken the train to Seward and all the way to Fairbanks. Spent 1 day in Denali. Stayed at Denali Bluffs. I took the bus to the 42-mile mark and came back due to the landslide. Saw 4 of the Denali 5, moose, brown bear, caribou, and doll sheep. Thanks for bringing back the fond memories and experience. You might want to go to Fairbanks, fly up to Coldfoot, and take the bus down the Dalton Highway. Quite an experience!

Alice: Great informative videos! We visited Alaska: Denali , Anchorage, Seward in the summer of 2021 and it was so beautiful. We enjoyed the train ride from Anchorage to Denali but did not see any wild life. We rode the tour bus into the park about 60 plus miles and were able to see the bears, they are light brown in color. Saw many caribou , one was dying beside the roadway, so sad and a few elk ! We rented a vehicle using the app. Turo to find an individual to rent a car from and it worked very well. You were definitely in 'Wonderland' with The Lynx. I saw lots of creatures around you on this particular adventure. I love any creatures of creation going through the evolutionary process all on their own. Once they have evolved into their desired state, they can transform into angelic form. The Ross Ice Sh'elf & Ross Sea gives them refuge & Heaven right here on Earth. ( We got Mermaids There ie; amphibious angels, which can transform also ) We're getting close to The End of the evolutionary process and it's a wonderful day to be alive. Don't you worry about a thing girl, you've been hand picked and probably don't realize how unique you really are. Things are going to get a little shitty first, but hey, shit happens. I got shit flying all around the world Joe Biden can't even see, and he's got more clearance then any President's ever had. Hell, Joe knows more then anyone in the United States Military. ( We keep the so called military pretty dumbed down ) Keep doin' what you do and we'll keep watching out. Just remember, all living creatures have all the same senses you do and are relatives of all of their kind that came before them and we're all here before any hu'man ever was. These humans are most commonly evil and a refuge for departed spirits. My teammates are about to do some crazy shit. Keep your eyes on the sky both day & night and remember this; one of us is worth 10,000 of them. Remember the things you learned from your dad. You were obviously a great student. You are most important to you at all times. We will do the rest.

For those interested in hiking the Triple Lakes Trail, it is not 3,700 ft of elevation gain. It's maybe 1,000 ft one-way for 9.2 miles.

Drove that route in 2018 but now wishing I had ditched the rental and taken the train. For a few days, Talkeetna was my "Northern Exposure" experience. Recognized a lot of memorable scenery and enjoyed the drone footage! And loved the 'copter trip. Like you, I had to stop at your turn-around point in the park too.
I certainly wished I had a car once I was in the park but I made do with the bus system although not ideal where my lodging was it worked out. I can’t wait to go back and see more
I envy you for your ability to do these things.
Great video, as usual. Next year take the time to hike the Kesugi Ridge Trail in the State Park. Great views of Denali Mountain if weather cooperates. I did it this past July and it was awesome. You will definitely be away from the crowds of the Nat'l Park but your pass through some scary bear habitat! Keep the awesome videos coming!

Love Denali. Was just solo hiking there in September. Opted to drive in, so I could check out the towns along the way. Saw 9 moose in 3 days.

@@AliceFordAdventures so far back to Alaska next month (posted a reply on your other video). I’m the one going to Juneau & Admiralty Island. Supposed to be about 1600 brown bears there. Will probably go back to Alaska after that trip. I can’t get enough of it & hope to live there one day. I’ve been to some gorgeous places around the world, but never was as moved by a place like AK.

That was awesome, Alice! While watching I was thinking, “She needs to do a lot of Alaska videos.” I’m so glad you’re going back there next year. Congratulations on the Lynx sighting. I get spooked just running into an unexpected deer on the trail while hiking. That wears off quickly then I end up having a one-way conversation with it … if it hasn’t darted off too far. Great video! I visited Denali last June and it was amazing. I didn't see a lynx, but did see Dall sheep, caribou and an enormous grizzly. Thanks for sharing your visit.

My family toured Denali years ago and took the shuttle all the way to Eielson VC. We were lucky enough to see Denali the mountain after clouds broke up. Also saw 4 of the “big-five” including 10 bears in total. The bus driver was so knowledgeable. An unforgettable experience

I learned that geography classes in some other countries teach people that Denali & Aconcagua are on the same continent.
Interesting I wonder if those same books show Europe, and Asia as one continent too.

Wow, what a great treat to get helicoptered in to the hiking location outside the park!!! I deeply enjoyed the gorgeous dreamy terrain you filmed on that portion of the hike. Magnificent!! And the caribou and moose footage was so lovely. I think it's so incredibly cool you got to see some of the petrified tree stuff too! Those things always make me strangely happy!! Once a lynx "hiked" with me, or ahead of me actually, for about 20 minutes. It stopped a few times, to let me catch up. I think it was waiting to see if I scared any ptarmigan out of the bushes as I loudly lumbered along the trail. My favorite places to hike and camp in Denali so far are Polychrome Pass, and also the in the valley that lies between Sable Pass and the western side of Cathedral Mountain. (but Sable Pass is not to be entered per park rules) Also I like Thorofare Pass too. However I will very much avoid hiking in the majority of the area that leads up to Polychrome Pass, from the park entrance. I've tried those areas a few times, and the smushy mattress like tundra is painfully arduous.
Wow David how cool about the Lynx. Thanks for sharing all those other hiking spots too. I imagine hiking on a mushy mattress would be exhausting.

Yes you have to just get down on the ground when you get in and out in those settings.
I admire you guys that do these things so much. But if I did it I would have to go alone. And at my age that really scares me so I always figure I'll just have to live my dream through all of you that make the videos.

Great views! Did you see Rudolph while you were out there? That lynx would have been a heart pounder. Had a closer encounter once with a black bear - about 15 feet from me. Fortunately it was as started as I ..so we went our separate way. Looking forward to your next one.
It was a heart pounder, I was a bit scared to go look for it, I know a Lynx is not aggressive but never having experienced one, I couldn't be too cautious. I saw a few caribou but no rudolph.

Did I hear you say that you planned to climb Denali (formerly Mt McKinley) next year? I believe that this 20,000 footer is the coldest mountain on earth. Filming it from the base would be a safer and perhaps a more enjoyable option. Looking forward to your next adventure, Alice.
You did hear that, although it will most likely have to be summer of 2023 as I need to cross a few more big summits off my list first. I know filming it from the botttom would be more enjoyable but I want to climb to the top.

Hi Alice, this was a really good video. One of my favorite destinations I come across your channel. The wild life and the nature is spectacular, although the Denali Mountains and the moose really did it for me. I would recommend you keep one or 2 bear spray with you at all times, apparently you can use that same spray on other wild animals, is good at least you had the whistle. How much did you pay for your hotel, the helicopter excursion with the tour guide, and the train ride? They have a very similar train ride offer in Canada by via Rail and the Rocky mountaineers that go through the Canadian Rockies? You know who that train line is owned by? Just curious to know. Most likely what you saw was a Canada Lynx, And they're a medium size lynx that ranges across Alaska, Canada and northern area of the contiguous United States. And they're characterized by its long dense fur, triangular ears, with black tufts at the tips and broad snow-like paws according to Wikipedia. Did you recall seeing those characteristics on the lynx? Thanks and Cheers.
Yes! That’s exactly what I saw. As for the helicopter that was $699 and the train was $650 round trip. Hotel was $1000 for 3 nights

Hey Ramses I planned this trip 3 days before. I had already purchase plane tickets but was supposed to be joining a small ship, those plans fell through at the last hour so all this was thrown together overnight. All in this trip cost about $6700 I will be posting a blog post with details in the next few weeks
