That seems like a well-planned operation and thought-out, very organized too. Good to see them trying to salvage things out of the structures, I've seen so many massive buildings demolished with everything still inside (perfectly good stuff). Hopefully they can donate what doesn't sell.
The growth of companies that perform hotel liquidations is a factor here. They probably get a percentage of total sales, so they might have a separate sale or separate room for glasses and dishes and other smaller items.
@@BrianWeber-gt4ho very good deal. Better than the ones I got at Wally world lol. But other stuff seemed pricey. I figure they will drop prices at least a little before they finally trash what's left to stay on schedule
That controller you saw in the black pelican case is for the theatrical rigging system. It was used to raise and lower the battens, curtains etc. The beige controller you assumed was for the safes was a safe programmer. There was also a key lock programmer in that box too.
My family and I stayed frequently at the Tropicana for YEARS after leaving the HACIENDA after they tore it down. The children practically grew up there in their younger years and we got to know a lot of the Entertainers who played there on a first name basis..😊😊
The podium in the back room is the one I took off of my cart when i realized it only had the 1 wheel that it's so funny. Love your videos, p s my dance on the check out whenever you guys pan over
The cameras on boxes are probably the liquidator's inventory to make some money on the side. Worked for a retailer who went out of business and a liquidator firm was brought in to liquidate inventory and assets. They supplemented the store inventory with their trashy crap.
That's routine for retail "going out of business" sales. The store hands over the entire sale to an outside firm, who will always bring in additional merchandise they already had. This is why the big "sale!" signs always look the same: they reuse them from sale to sale. They may also cherry-pick whatever merch is there and ship out the best items. Basically these sales are anything goes. It's all up to what the liquidation company wants to do.
If the safe works like mine….. There’s a reset button inside the safe on the inside of the door. You press that and then type in your own code…. So when you leave you leave the safe open so the next people can put in their own code.
Tropicana orginally before the renovation in 2010 had 1,870. Then the 1959 and 1964 wings were demolished to make way for a 2nd entrance and additional parking alongside Tropicana Ave. The 20th floor of the Paradise Tower was renovated to include 6 luxury villas, removing 30 regular rooms in the process. As a result of these changes, the hotel was left with 1,467 rooms in total, down from approximately 1,870.
Prices seem a bit high to me, but for the Buffalo Chopper, good price, same with the floor machine but I would want to see both to make sure they operate correctly.
I really hate all the hotels I grew up seeing. Are all gone. My Brother & I would walk from Bruce to 15th Street catch a bus on Fremont Street.Go to the La Hacienda and ride the Go Carts. I came home to visit & go to the Elvis Festival. We drove by The Tropicana 😢😢 It was heart breaking to me. It won't be long & the Tropicana will only be a memory :(
The logo is from 2009 when Onex Corporation bought the Tropicana and started a rebranding and renovation project that replaced the tropical theme with a South Beach one.
Those cameras still in the boxes could have been gifts (not given out yet) for players' club members with a certain level of play. I've seen casinos have giveaways like that.
Wish I had known. Trop was fun long ago. Just found out my buddy that lives there completely furnished his back patio tiki bar area for roughly $300 Prices were not firm. If you wanted a few of the same item they accommodated
Glad to see it all being sold off to be reused. Nothing that I would need or want. I think that a savvy buyer can pick quite a few different things for a good price and well below retail. I would however be wary of any upholstered furniture for fear of bedbugs. The pillows a big no! The wooden hangers, are a fantastic deal if they have regular hooks. Much better to sell it off cheap rather that it ending up in the land fill.
Need a floor lamp real bad. Was curious about the price, not that I am going to be there, but new ones can be outrageous. What would son have done with the podium ? Guess Mom rules the roost ..........
Great vid! Thanks for sharing! I would assume they'd get Habitat for Humanity or some other non profit to take some stuff if they can't sell it. I wonder what the scrap value of all those aluminum pans are?
For a new restaurant or a cleaning company it had a lot of good stuff. But for anyone else you need to like the "tropical" style of the furniture. I thought they were going to keep most of the furniture inside de rooms and smash it with de Bobcat during the demolition.
Where are all of the surveillance cameras and recording equipment used in the casino and throughout the building, slots and gaming stuff probably isn’t sold to the public

well when I looked it up I found this Located on the south end of the Las Vegas Strip, the 1,470-room Tropicana hotel originally opened with 300 rooms, billed as the most expensive Las Vegas resort development at the time. The Tropicana underwent several expansions in its history to add towers and more guestrooms.
I did see they removed one sign on the north side of the building. I'm hoping they saved it. The one by the main valet area was not removed and destroyed by the demolition.
@@Raiders1967 wow! Over a year ago I was thinking how to buy that sign before they demo the building. Imagine how much that sign would worth in 20 years. Thank you!

Great video. Haven’t been there since ‘08, but we made a point to visit the Trop, because we knew it wouldn’t be around much longer (of course it did make it another 16 years). It was kinda of a dilapidated dump back then.
Instead of throwing all that kitchen stuff like all the metal trays and stuff I'm surprised they don't do you like them guys that look for scrap metal for money. We have one that drives through our neighborhood in a pick up truck that goes to our trash looking for scrap metal.
If I was a younger person, I could totally furnish my apartment and feel like I live in a hotel!

Well done you❤❤
Amazing that he found the phone with the 777 room number on it. Very lucky number!!!

Wow! Thanks for showing me around. I really appreciate that. You have a great day today. We’ll let you know when I can go to Vegas soon.
Man I'm so glad I've got to stay & play there!
They need to lower their prices if they want to sell that stuff
Not applying the $20 per person admission doesn't help either. Heck, if $5, instead, it still would be more than swap meets' entrance fee.
Ummm bogo for $1 for new plates???
