Be or not be, is asky thing... Is it gooder in head to let feel bad hurts of make-angry bad luck, Or take weapon into sea of bad things? Yes. Better to take weapon.
There's so much that happened in Fallout 4 that made me say "wait a second." Curing Virgil is one of them. The serum managed to restore him to a human form, but it never explains how such radical mutations could even be reversed. Bodily mutations like that don't just revert, especially considering how the FEV mutates EVERYTHING. Including your bones.
Yeah it's just a ridiculous quest entirely from Bethesda. Having the FEV be reversible or curable is just ridiculous. I mean to go from supermutant to human and look fine is beyond lazy writing.
Honestly, considering the batshit insane amount of mass you gain, its still probably possible to lose all of that. If its condensed enough, skin could pass as human skin, but have durability much stronger than even a super mutants. An organ "shriveling" could explain the organs of a super mutant suddenly being suitable for a human (or not, hard to guess.) Bone is hard to think about, but could likely slowly shed mass away to the point of being passable . (Though this would take WAY longer than a few days.) One thing to think about though is intelligence. Lost intelligence, instincts, and mannerisms cannot be regained, though the capacity to learn can be gained. Strong turning human would probably have a similar personality to super mutant strong, but could learn to look past hatred of humans, as he would now have the ability to. Virgil didnt really degrade mentally at all, so its possible for him to retain intelligence. All in all? its completely possible for a mutant to turn human, and doing so would likely create the "super soldiers" the creators of FEV were looking for. It would still be farfetched for it to happen, but then again, this is Fallout. Giant green hulk men(?) with a passion for Shakespearean literature and milk is already pretty fucking farfetched. Edit: Just to reinforce my point, a cure would be less of "Reversal" of fev, and would be more of a fev but with effects that counter fev, and change a being into a more "human" form. That said, if this cure is capable of affecting regular humans, just like fev, then it woud be a really badass poison. Imagine shooting an enemy with a blowdart that literally compresses their skin and organs, and causes their bones to melt and break. Jesus.
@@doomfan8603Not really? Well, at least not initially. Over time, it’s definitely become a crutch for Bethesda shoving Supermutants into every single Fallout game for no reason, with each successive iteration forgetting more and more about the drawbacks of FEV beyond the Supermutants being “dumb”.
I felt extremely bad when I returned to Virgil after I blew up the institute and he’s was like, “You didn’t! How could you?Just Leave!” I was trying to talk and now I feel depressed.

+SelfAwarePedant eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh it would be much better to use it on a massive scale just to wipe out the fev and all its horrors for good. and yes super mutants included, they might not all be bad but 99% are and 99% of the good ones turn bad eventually, since supermutant development just keeps going making you dumber and stronger forever.
As much as I agree how many would consent to being turned? Not many I can imagine. They really have a problem with humans despite being mutated from humans. Super Mutant logic.

I'm not sure how my character got so evil, as he started of kind and compassionate. :\
+Jimbles Notronbo *Spoilers* It couldn't really work because Virgil's fate is ambiguous. You can either cure him of FEV or not obtain the cure at all. And even after that there is a quest with the brotherhood where you can kill him.
+Jimbles Notronbo Virgil would need to fuck off from that hole and get setup on an actual lab with actual good people helping. And I don't think he can even leave that fucking hole with shit tons of rads outside and a Deathclaw at the door lol

"What, did you expect me to transform right before your eyes?" "This is The Creation Engine, a tricked out Gamebryo, not some decent modern game engine."
I mean, he’s still right, even if it’s disappointing it is more plausible that the cure would need to take time on the Super Mutant body. Although now I’m curious if there is a transformation in any of the 3D fallout games.

I would've preferred Virgil as a companion instead of Strong. Strong is just...ugh. Edit: After starting a new playthrough, slaughtering several deathclaws and dozens of radscorpions together in the Glowing Sea, and watching him take hundreds of bullets from angry, double-crossed raiders in Nuka-World for me, I'd like to amend my comment and say that Strong's not that bad. Just let me pick locks in peace though damn it.

Human eats other super mutant. *Strong* whach out the figers allways get stuck in your teeth! Strong likes that *Me* have you eaten your own kind before?
and this is going to be the plot for fallout five, to cure the super mutants or let them stay as is. this is just like the harkness mission in fallout 3 foreshadowing the next game.
+Dillon Toole i know right? unless he just hides in that cave the rest of his life since it apparently blocks out all radiation (in the gameplay at least lol) there should've been a mission to escort him back or something. or at least give him a hazmat suit.
Virgil was the top bioscientist at the Institute, the most advanced scientific institute since the bombs. I'm sure he knows exactly how to avoid radiation.
My boy Vergil essentially retained some badass muscle mass from being a super mutant. He literally went from "Sorry Sir" to "She calls me daddy now". What a Chad
1:17 this reminds me of the wylandriah sequence of dialogue in skyrim, youre just being a sarcastic asshole but somehow are 100% correct and an absolute genius xD its my favorite sort of bit you can do, its honestly always funny
Except murder, threatening, some sarcasm and canablism. He needs to like more things..... And remember though, there is no milk in the game so you will never even hold up your end of the bargain.... It's why he hates you
"You dont get it! I'm stuck as a super strong, radiation-immune, highly regenerative, pottentially immortal mutant who still has complete use of his intellect! It'A NEVERENDING NIGHTMARE!!!"
i mean, to be fair, his argument wasn't *just* that he hated his body, it was also how living in that cave wasn't a life worth living, with the subtext being that no human communities would accept him as a supermutant. As a human he could leave the cave and live in Dimond City or something. I don't know if he ever leaves the cave though, even after the cure.
Also to be fair, the longer you stay a super mutant the more you mutate. The lore behind a behemoth is that they too were once human but a huge amount of time has passed since they've last been infected with the super mutant virus which causes them to lose their sanity and reason and grow at an immense rate. This was the right decision to do, if he didn't do it, he'd end up just like any other super mutant and probably join one of their gangs before they all lose their sanity and become behemoths
Considering super mutants on the east coast slowly go insane, are stigmatized by society, and aren’t able to find a community that isn’t dedicated to warfare….. yes. It is hell.
I have a feeling this is gonna be like “The Replicated Man” quest from fallout 3 in showing us what a future fallout main quest is gonna be about later on. Turn the tides and start capturing super mutants for experiment!
That would be interesting, a war to cure FEV and turn all Super Mutants human on one side, and Intelligent, Super Mutants on the other side looking to turn everyone into Super Mutants Idk, couldn't come up with anything else
Hmm, hard to tell. I can understand someone wanting to revert super mutants back to normal human life, but at the same time it should be Strong's decision, not the Sole Survivor's
+Loyk_Noft You never know what Greedhesda retconned in Fallout. We all know Marcus can have sex with a chick in Fallout 2 even though he's sterile (he is joking when he says he banged her too), but it's never said in the Bethesda Fallout games what is up with them.

I genuinely like strong and really fucking wished they made him a more interesting companion. Like when you first meet him in the rely tower and he shows interest in Shakespeare I was super excited and thought his whole personal quest would involve something like teaching him how to read and him learning complexity of human emotion and start to feel conflicted since most of his life he's spent killing humans for fun and wish the other super mutants in the wasteland would reform themselves or at the very least you'd get to learn why the mutants in Massachusetts are violent while in other fallout games they have actually reasons to fight like Black Mountain in New Vegas. It's just so disappointing to see that they didn't even bother and hes just with you because he doesn't understand a metaphor and that's the whole joke that goes on for so goddamn long
holy cow, this was a very interesting video, i learned things. This is the most interesting dialog i have ever hear strong say in the game of fallout 4. Thanks for sharing this.
Im wondering, If strong can have interesting dialog when meeting Virgil. What would happen if we introduced Strong to the new Boston Patriots football team which is comprised of super mutants? these guys can be found in the Tales from the commonwealth mod in "The Patriots" quest.
That’s a huge step for the franchise. Actually, the entire game has tons of huge steps for the franchise and I hope they don’t ignore them in the next game.
So I'm guessing in a future game we will be tasked with either forcibly converting super mutants back into humans but this particular group of super mutants are civilized and don't want too return thus creating problems.
People seem to he confused the fact that he is surviving the radiation as a human, I mean are we just forgetting the fact that he kept certain features of a super mutant so him still having the radiation immunity is not impossible

Fuck Strong. I wish he was like a Fawkes. Fawkes was the greatest companions in the whole of fallout universe.
He's a hell of a kill stealer though. Every time I partner up with him he destroys everything before I can finish the first reload.
+TheCricketer15 By reading your comment I'm certain you only played Fallout 3 and 4 and thats too bad for you, couse those we're the weakest.
+Arek Cygarek Weakest in character or useful ness as a companion? Because Marcus is bae.
+Salted Horse Meat I was talking about those two games, not companions. 3 and 4 are the wekest in franchise. But considering AI then yes, Marcus is worst than Fawkes, but he's from a '97 game and Fawkes is from '08 game so no surprise.
+Arek Cygarek Well that's a matter of opinion there. If ya ask me, 1 and 2 have some petty ballin' stories, but I have more fun with messing around in the mechanics of 3-4 without mods.
But hey, gotta hold some respect for the previous games for both paving the way and setting up the premise.

Curing Virgil is one of them.
@@LouSassol69er Well in that case shouldn’t FEV be considered lazy writing
Jesus.
@sandraswan9008we saw FEV efects after couple of days in fallout 1.

@@animeminians7451 I think the story of Swan confirms Virgil could just lose his sanity one day

0:22 Shit's about to go down.

I love how genuinely shocked Strong is over this.
1:07 now i know that virgil is a gen 1 mutant and strong isnt.
So I'm guessing in a future game we will be tasked with either forcibly converting super mutants back into humans but this particular group of super mutants are civilized and don't want too return thus creating problems.
