    I have a 2009 Gravely Promaster 44 Z with the original Kawasaki 19Hp FH580v with 8100 hours on it and it’s still going strong. Gravely’s are definitely great mowers and I certainly would buy another gravely again with the Kawasaki engine on it.

      Thanks for watching. WOW! That's AWESOME. I don't understand why everyone turns their noses up at Gravely machines. They cut fantastic. I know, I've run NUMEROUS brands in my career, by FAR, Gravely is the best. They are seriously built like tanks, and they last FOREVER as your comment states.
      My first commercial zero turn was a 152 XDZ. I ran it for 12 years, and it had over 6,000 hours on it when I sold it 4 years ago, and the man that bought it from me is STILL RUNNING IT. Last time I checked, he told me it had 9,800 hours on it. I know everyone has their favorite and obviously so do we, 🤣 but I'm convinced they are afraid. Why? Because they'd have to admit they're WRONG. I might be wrong, but I think I'm correct in my assessment.

    The thing i like about the 352 is it sits up high. The 352 sits a little lower than the 660/652, so i was going to buy both all because i wanted to go from sitting on the ground to sitting up about 5 to 6 feet off the ground...I know its a silly reason but hey, live. Also would need a back up mower if one would fail... Well the salesman was more worried about a quick buck, so i decided i would stay away from those Gravely, and go with the Toro pro 400 series, at another store.

    I have an ego 56 volt weed eater for my 1.25 acre property. Probably about 25 trees, 2 sheds, trampoline, house, and about 200 feet of ditch and i edge around 10 step stones. It trims it all unless I got a mower down and it gets to tall and thick then I need to weed eat about 5 or 10 minutes before I mow and throw the battery on charge. I still think it's a better situation than gas weed eaters. I don't have to worry about buying and mixing and having a special jug for 2 stroke gas. All I worry about is string and it has an automatic stringer. Takes 14 feet of string.
    This (2024) season is the 4th year I think I've had it, still recommend if you're just doing your property.

      With ALL DUE respect, I WILL NEVER, EVER EVER run anything that you have to plug in or run with a battery, other than carpentry tools. They are not feasible for lawn work. The main reason is, I WILL NOT BOW to the pressure of politics. I will go out of business before I do that.

    • @leechburglights

      I am a die-hard gas machine kinda guy. 18 years ago, I bought a blue Ryobi 18v blower and an 18v weed eater. My old home had 4 maple trees and required a lot of raking and blowing. I had the house, 2 shed's, a fence line, and parking area to weed eat. The old ni-cad batteries could never put out the power needed to do all the work in my yard. So I stuck to my trusty old and loud gas fueled blower and trimmer.
      I bought a new-to-me home 2 years ago, and I have absolutely changed my tune over the past 2 years when it comes to these battery powered tools. My yard has 2 trees and a number of shrubs. The house is setup with very little trimming and it takes literally 15-20 minutes to complete the edging on the sidewalks, and around the shed out back. I use the old blower to clean off my riding mower, blow grass from the street into the yard, and clean the clippings off the front and back sidewalk. Heck, the leaves just get run over each week with the mower. The new lithium batteries are incredible. They have breathed new life into my Roybi collection of old tools which sat unused for over 15 years.
      I left my old blower, weedeater, and gas can at the old house for my tenant's and neighbor to use. I really didn't think I'd ever change my opinion, but yet here I am putting my Ryobi 1+ tools to use using modern lithium18v 1+ batteries. My ears do not ring after running the loud gas version, and I never have to mix oil and gas again. Oh and the best part is these are so light, it's half the weight of the old gas driven units. I still can't believe I made the switch.

      @leechburglights I'm glad it worked for you. No disrespect intended AT ALL, but if we all roll over, we'll all be using electric. I want you to think about this...they tell us to lower energy consumption when the grid is overloaded because it can't handle the needs of the country now. What would it be like if we ALL went electric. Someone has to stand firm and say NO. I PROUDLY SAY NOOOO!

    • @dustydusty8660
      @dustydusty8660 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @BigSouthOutdoorsTV For me, it was about convenience, not confirmation. I got tired of rebuilding carbs, replacing fuel lines and prim bulbs.
      I'm not climate change supporting commie by any means. MY truck, 21 ram 1500, 6.inch lift on 35s with some other goodies that have my MPG down to 13.5.
      I'm will not move my vehicles or mowers to electric but just as you said yourself. Your small power tools are batter power. As a simple home owner, the electric weedeater made sense for me. If I had a commercial business landscaping. I'd probably buy 4stroke trimmers just to get away from the hassle of carrying extra jugs and oils.
      But like I said, it's not about conformation, it's the sheer convenience. You don't have to do anything but pull the battery off and slide it on a charger when you're done and put it on when you need to use it and add string. Speaking of string you can buy pre cut lengths and you just poke it through a hole in the head till it come out the other side and pull it till it's centered and push a button, it winds itself. No takak8ng the head of and manually winding. It is by far the best decision I made when it comes to my property maintenance. Will I go electric on a chain saw or anything else? Hell no, but that weed eater I could not pass up. It eliminates to many headaches.
      I tried a 24v kobalt before the 56v EGO, and that thing sucked. My only regret is I did not go for the more expensive EGO weedeater that had a quick detach system so I could take the weed eater part off and put a pole saw on it.

    Just saying , I've got a n Ariens IKON 52, bought 2 years ago. Thought I just had bad luck. 4 drive belts, 2 deck belts. reinstalled one blade pinion (welded to deck, $500) , adjusted steering monthly to keep balanced. Now my machine is sitting outside my shop to put on 4th drive belt and modify pulley alignment and remedy problem, supposedly. Found the right rear wheel drive and pully shaft bent 30+ degrees. Casing torn, not broken looks torn in half along the shift
    Cheapest metal I've seen on a lawn tractor. For the pinion, the repair company told me the deck metal was too thin too weld properly. Added reinforcement metal to increase weld capacity. Bottom line ,cranked up my L100 John Deere 36, built 1972 to cut my 3 acres. The Ariens; taking your videos and my tractor back next week todiscuss a lemon law type deal to get my money back. Truly a piece of crap. I'm a retired mech and metalurgical engineer and bought the Ariens based on Gravely name. Feel dumb and scammed. Wish me luck! Thank you for my evidence and education. • @BigSouthOutdoorsTV
      @BigSouthOutdoorsTV  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for watching, but you're only HALF right. I do wish people would do their diligence before leaving an uninformed comment. First, Gravely, even though it is NOW a product of Ariensco, they WERE NOT designed by Ariensco. Mr. Gravely designed and manufactured their first zero turn in 1929. Like Dixon mowers, they were chain driven. They moved into the hydrolic age in 1994. Ariens is the 5th company to own Gravely, but they DID NOT come up with the design.
      Just like Coke is the parent company of MANY different product lines, a few being Fanta, Dasani water and powerade, they don't make them. Coke doesn't make powerade or water. They market and sell them. Ariensco is no different. They are the parent company that bought a design(Gravely) and the right to sell them. Ariens mowers are not even in the same city, county or state as Gravely mowers. Gravely does, however offer similar residential machines as the Ariens line, but that's where the similarities stop. I've run Gravely mowers since 2008. I can say, that after operating many different brands, exmark, kubota, JD, Husqvarna, Dixie Chopper, grass hopper just to name a few, NONE of them can compete with Gravely on cut quality, speed, durability and dependability.

      I absolutely agree save one thing. The 2023 version was totally different than the 2022 model. They changed a bunch of stuff and not for the better. There are several buyers in my area, according to the dealer I'm trading with now, that are having similar issues. Bent front forks, broken fuel tanks, etc. I spoke to one gentleman that was PISSED that his deck broke completely off the front of his mower and it only had 13 hours on it. Only one side had done that on mine. The only responsibility the dealer had was to be honest and inform me, and others that this was a "new model", completely different from the previous year and there was a possibility it would not perform well. Had I been told that, I would've avoided it like the plague. No, this is NOT a dealer problem. This is a shining example of engineers and manufacturers trying to fix something that isn't broken and creating havoc.

      @@BigSouthOutdoorsTV Ok. I agree with you. I guess you just have to chalk this up as an expensive learning experience and make sure you stick with the commercial mowers since you do cut lawns for a living😊 I am new to your videos and really probably shouldn't have commented until I watched more of your videos and got to know your personality. You seem like a very knowledgeable guy that has a lot of experience with lawn mowers.

      Thanks for watching. Kia to a cadi. Never heard that one before. I LIKE IT. 🤣
      Yea, it's amazing how much better built Gravely is than Ariens. Just proves that Ariens never had a part in the design and engineering of Gravely products.

      Thanks for watching. Yes. All commercial mowers of this size and weight are around that price range. But, in the long run, Gravely is worth EVERY PENNY.

    I would have not bought a Gravely, your just supporting the company that left you high and dry with the Areins .

      Thanks for watching. Although owned by the same parent company Ariensco, Ariens mower division and Gravely mower division are TWO SEPARATE ENTITIES. Much like Pepsi has Pepsi and Mtn. Dew. I have run Gravely for too many years to turn my back on them just because I got a lemon Ariens. One has absolutely NOTHING to do with the other.

    Ariens mower is a superior lawnmower compared to Craftsman.

    • @BigSouthOutdoorsTV
      @BigSouthOutdoorsTV  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching but NO THEY ARE NOT. The Craftsman Z6400 pictured towards the end of this video is still being used by the gentleman that bought it from me almost 2 years ago. It had right at 800 hours on it when I sold it. It has over 1,000 hours on it now. The Ariens doesn't have but 187 hours on it and it's a daily fight to keep it rolling. Anyone can get a lemon in any product, but after talking to many different people via TH-cam and face to face, I have learned that more than not, Ariens is junk. That's why I bought another Gravely. My Craftsman WAS NOT junk. I would give nearly anything to get it back but the man I sold it to won't sell it back to me.

    gravely copied the deck from scag velocity deck, scags cheeta 2, turf tiger 2 and tiger cat 2 all have velocity decks. glad that you can finally stop loosing sleep over the areiens. it will be great to see you using the new mower.

      I don't think they copied anything from anyone. They had the xfactor deck back in '08 and have been making improvements over the years. If I'm not mistaken, grasshopper produced the slanted front deck plate back in 1985. By your calculations, anyone that uses that design copied Grasshopper.

    • @bergerk20
      @bergerk20 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      ok well maybe they did not copie it but they got with the program that everyone else was doing to the front of the decks. i wish grasshopper was as well know as the rest, there is no dealer near me for grasshopper and i know that they make a good product from all the reviews i have watched on them. have you ever had one of them?
