This reminds me when I was a kid, my dad was the manager of a Roses store that had a bare wood floor. Once a year, he would have to oil the floor, just like you did on the trailer. He used a premixed oil and solvent concoction that came in 5 gallon buckets but it's the same idea. Talk about memories. I imagine your trailer floor will last a long time.
Dad used to put oil on all the 6×6 beams he used around sheds and buildings, but then again they were white oak so still not sure if it really helped or not but they are all still standing.
Yeah, my scrap trailer is a lost cause, and the floor has to be replaced. I'm hoping this will protect the wood well enough, it won't have to be replaced for years to come.
@henryavery8374 yea, the weather impact isn't as harsh on the underside, but it does exist. I put one coat on the underside and went heavy around the front underneath and around the areas where the tires slings water.

@TimeAttack2003 thanks for watching, but why? This worked far better and was much faster. The "messy" part was from straining the oil. The sprayer was a breeze.
I make a similar mixture (clear silicone instead of oil) to make my winter shelter tarp roof 100% waterproof.

I think we brushed it on and always during hot weather. I think it will work fine.

Use a high nap paint roller with a bdoom handle and really soak it wet
