Hola!! Lucy lots of love from India.. I have recently finished my secondary examinations Now wanna to muster up my knowledge to acquire a good british accent as we indians follow British English...
English with Lucy my grandfather was from Yorkshire but his father was from Sussex and my great great grandfather was from Oxford and went to university there. I remember reading very young 6 yrs old and using a dictionary to look up words that I didn’t know. I also remember not being allowed to use ketchup and discussions about which is proper fork in right hand vs fork in left hand. My great grandfather was the vicar in Mappleton, Yorkshire.
You’re so elegant and articulate Lucy. I’m a native English speaker but sometimes I watch your videos simply because I admire you and your voice has a calming, therapeutic effect on my mind after a stressful day. Love from the US 🇺🇸🇬🇧
To learn English , you should only do one thing . You should practice. Yeeeh practice it try to go back in time and imagine yourself as a baby. How could you learn your mother language? By listening, right! Listening and trying to speak. Try and make mistakes .it's fine, But in the end i promise you. You will do it.
@@commonman6806 you literally described me. Actually, If you don't develop skill in specific area, things won't happen accurately and fluently. You are not alone with the problem.
If i bother u. Srry. But but i really did this. My prlbm .is. No one is here to talk somthing , how can i learn english alone ..? I have lot of time learn , but can't ... I need tips friend. Can. U explen.
Hey, i'm looking for someone to be my english practice mate, we can be a friend and have a conservation about our daily in english, if you interest please reply this comment :) thnks
Your English speaking is better than US and I listen many native speaker but found you are better speaking and I am easily understanding and I am from India
The reason why my listening skills improved is because of emma’s mmmenglish. But i still watch different channels to learn from different people. And I decided to follow you because I’m having a hard time to understand your accent. It means another opportunity for me to improve.
Ok. You have a new subscriber......From Buenos Aires.
Hello Lucy. I'm a Spanish and English Teacher from Venezuela... I've learnt many interesting tips with your classes, you are an amazing tutor... Thank you, I love you!
Hi Lucy.... it's been very arduous for me to have a British accent....I watch ' This Morning ' everyday and first and foremost, I watch your videos everyday in order to talk like you💙💙✌🏻
I have been studying English in Japan in order to pass the entrance exam of college. However, I have got interested in English and I want to speak and understand English fluently like native English speakers now. I will consult this channel and improve my ability to use English!
Italian here! 🙌🇮🇹 I started watching "Friends" to improve my speaking. First with subtitles and after a while I forced myself to listen carefully without subtitles. I admit I love English so much but many people find it boring. Though I can assure you, it works! Now I dare watching Peaky blinders in English! 😂
@E F have you ever been to Italy? Whenever this horrible situation is over you should take a trip. I mean there are a lot of good things to eat, do I need to convince you even more?
@E F Well, such trips need some time but eventually they are so worth the wait! I am looking forward to see the West coast on my next trip and I know it'll be legen-dary! 😂
Something that I tried was, getting what you where saying in a particular video, I wrote it and I tried to learn it by memory, it really improved my pronunciation and I got new words.
Hi Lucy I haven't been listening and practising for 1 month but I am so happy because I understand English again...I'm so proud of myself. Thanks for you lesson.
Alguien más de Colombia que no sabía nada de este canal y que ahora es adicto a estos vídeos? Is there Somebody more from Colombia that didn't know about this canal and now is addict to these videos?
My English is average like (4/10) , but my listening skills are better because of my movie and TV shows addiction. So in my opinion watching content in English language is the best tip given by Lucy ma'am today. Love❣️ from India...
I hope this ways to improve my listening skills will show effect when I’m writing my A-level exam in english. I’m good at writing and reading but I hate listening and I’m terrible at understanding and answering the questions at the same time. XD
She speaks very clear English. It is easier for the English learners or non native speakers to follow and understand her lesson.. If you go to other part of UK like Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Scotland or nothern Ireland etc and have conversations with the ordinary people, you will find difficult to understand them.
Thank you for making this helpful video. I tried to avoid using subtitles while listening to you and ended up putting the video at × 1.25 speed :) I'm French and I'm studying English at university. I passed the Cambridge First for Schools last year and barely got the C1 level, but I'm not happy with my English at all. I find my oral skills awful and I'm so shy when it comes to speaking with native speakers, especially when their French is great :') also, I would like to sound rather British but I've only met American people so far... I'm trying to take advantage of the quarantine to improve :)
Thank you very much for all of these advices. I agree with you, but there's one thing maybe you forget it ,its will to learn English , I'm beginner in English, I'm studying alone since four months, because I don't found a teacher , I'm a poor man ,i want to improve my English level, and i was succeeded in my goal. Stay only speaking i can't . Finely i want to thank you for this videos My greetings.
A hint for Point 5 (if you are a learner): Choose TV series and films you love so much that you have already watched them dozens of times in your mother tongue. Doing so, you will know the "big picture" extremely well and can put all focus on language, words and pronunciation. I did that with "Game of Thrones", and it paid off extremely well for me.
Good evening MaM!! It's right that subtitle on videos is a perfect way to improve our listening skills, but........ videos belonging to yours channel is absolutely so understandable because of your good voice!! Thanks for this video MaM, GOODNIGHT!!!
My English teacher Lucy 😍 I love her voice ❤️ understand no problem I think every body learn the English language. I love your teaching style you are super... Love from Nepal ♥️♥️♥️🙋🙋🙋
Hi Loose ! I've tried the slow motion but there is a weird echo anyway I've been so thrilled because I dont need this neither the subtitels, I am able to understand you as well as the movies i've seen. Bye, Oscar from Argentina
Dear Lucy, Every time I watch your videos, I think you are "made of porcelain" because your skin is beautiful and perfect. You are an excellent teacher and keep it up. Congrats!
Hi Lucy, I'm training for my B2 exam that although has been postponed due to the virus is still a pain in the neck for me. I wanted to ask you if you have ever done a video about Cambridge exams as I'm not so sure about what I have to do to achieve a good result. I hope you'll read it because you're a very great teacher and I rely on you and your explanation so much. Have nice day!!
As a non native speaker of English, who is passionate about English literature, I wish I could have the pleasure to meet you in person and just talk,...over dinner of course. It would help me a lot with my English.
I like watching Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey. That helps me a lot with my studies. I also recommend Ripper Street. Anybody else who loves those series?
It feels good to hear that some of the things I'm using are in that list. The most important tip for myself at this stage is the 6th one, because it's really annoying to hear ummh, ahhhh and I do that quite often, so thanks Lucy for suggesting that.
Lucy Bella Earl what ever is the attire you wear it always is appealing. Frankly Lucy Bella Earl, seeing you is a genuine breather for my eyes and ears in the time of this COVID 19 Pandemic. Thanks Lucy Bella Earl for this spectacular upload
As you told it is quite funny to listening to you at 0.5 speed. After a couples of beer it´s how most of people sounds like..LoL Thanks for posting on YT I really enjoy it. LG, Rio
Dear Lucy, always a lovely experience watching your videos. I grew up bilingual with Spanish and German so always keen on other languages - and meanwhile living in AUS and NZ for quite some years. As to your recommendation no. 5 re TV shows: get yourself some comic books you know from your past and read them in the language you like to learn, helps you get the hang of every day language as well, ie Asterix or Tintin... keep up your excellent work 😎
thank you very much i hope my lord in this ramadan, like you have helped us to use different ways to understand your languge , someone will help you to know and understand how it's important to be muslim in this life.
