Checking in to Disney's Aulani | Ocean View Room Tour, Monkeypod & More

- It's our third day in Hawaii and we're checking into Disney's Aulani! We arrived at 9 AM, long before regular check-in and hung out at the pool until our room was ready.
We enjoyed Aulani's Poolside Dining service for lunch, tried Papalua Shave Ice and later in the afternoon, we experienced their free ukulele lessons.
After that, we checked into our Deluxe Studio Ocean View room at Aulani and hopped over to Monkeypod Kitchen for dinner in the Ko Olina area.
Finally, we finished up our evening enjoying a presentation of 'Aulani Lei Hiwahiwa by the pool.

I didn't want the vlog to end. Great vlogging. Now I really want to go. I loved the shaved ice with ice cream. Had that in Big Island. Game changer. I loved those ears at the store with the flowers and mini mouses. So many things I wanted to buy. I can see myself living in Hawaii. It's totally my vibe. 😊🌺 And that view. No words. Amazing.

I was there with my family from Thursday to Tuesday of this week. Such a fun time! We got rain Sunday afternoon lol everything there is top notch! Will definitely be back. We missed Stitch and Moana.
You arrived the day we left! Last Thursday was our checkout date. We were there till about Noon.
@SoCalDisneyDad we got there maybe like 1230 lol our plane landed 1040isn and waited for Uber to pick us up. Did you guys try the coconut white chocolate pineapple?

@SoCalDisneyDad the Dole Plantation was so much fun! We stopped there on our way to North Shore. The whole island is a lot of fun your video really reminded me of how fun it was lol we had very similar room but on the other tower
All that food looks delicious 😋
Everything was super tasty. I don’t think we had a bad meal the whole trip.
Even the quick service at the pool (which is in a later video) was delicious.

My son loved Aulani, the characters were so friendly here! We also went to the monkey pod and loved it! There is also a place that served breakfast across the street- Eggs n things, soooo good! We also paid for their Luau, but it rained so they canceled it 😢
We also did the time share tour and got a Disney gift card for the tour! I believe it was for $150
Nice! We have done their DVC spiel 2-3 times in the past. They tried to get us to do it again. 😂
$150 is a nice incentive. We didn’t talk to them until checkout day so they didn’t even tell us what incentives they had before we said we didn’t have time.

Enjoying the Hawaii videos
Those surfboard cutting boards are so great we bought one and used it for our character autographs. If you go again you should definitely research renting DVC points we did and only spent $2200 for 7 nights in January. Was amazing. With that we got free parking….such a fun series am enjoying watching and reminiscing🤗
We debated renting DVC. It's something we've wanted to do. But the problem is they don't offer any sort of cancellation or rescheduling. At our kids ages, sickness is a very real possibility, especially at the end of school, and the thought of losing everything is too much to risk for us.
Unless you know of a place that offers the ability to reschedule without cost (much like a hotel cancellation, so long as it's within 3 days?)
What you do is purchase travel insurance but make sure you read fine print and make sure you know all the exclusions. That is what I heard is what everyone does….we took the risk but I completely understand the risk I work in healthcare and it always seems someone ends up sick!
@@beckyrichardson8585 It’s definitely something we want to do. Next year we are going back to Orlando as a family and we want to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for a few nights and are probably going to do DVC for that.
how long out did you book? Cause I was looking at renting DVC point for a one bed villa for OCT and it's $4,500 sheesh!!
@@Douglas-1994 my parents are running in to the same problem this year I think Hawaii’s school break is October which may be the problem….I booked in August for a January trip.

Just curious, do you guys have any plans to review the new Sea World Rescue Junior area in Sea World? Or Albert’s restaurant at the San Diego Zoo?
I totally spaced on doing Rescue Jr. the other day when I was there. I’m sure we will be back soon. At least on June 24th for sure. I can’t make June 17th for the start of Summer Spectacular. They are notoriously not fully open on the first weekend of a seasonal event anyway.

Are there any discounts for magic key holders?
No. But they do offer seasonal deals. We landed one that made our fourth night free essentially as we were originally only planning 3 nights. But the deal dropped the cost per night by $200 AND gave us a $150 credit for purchases. So rather than “save” money, we added the fourth night.
Sorry not sure if you mentioned it but did you use a Travel agent or just book everything yourselves? I've always wanted to visit Hawaii. I love how you split the trip at two different hotels.
We booked everything in Hawaii ourselves except Aulani. And the only reason we didn't book that ourselves is one of our friends is a DVP (Disney Vacation Planner) and she earns commission on sales. Costs us no extra, but she gets a small paycheck, so we figured why not?

The thing about Hawaii is you need to just read up a bit on the different islands and think about what kinds of areas you would like to be in. I like the Big Island because it has a bit of everything but there's lots of options. But once you pick an island or two for a first trip it's really pretty straightforward, again using the Big Island as an example it's... big... so you would like ideally three hotels, one on the dry (Kona) side, one on the wet/jungle side (Hilo) and ideally one near Volcano National Park. Then you can figure out the details later.
