    I agree with the Saucony Endorphin Shift 3 and the Tempus. They have been some of my most used shoes as well. Two others that are good stabilty daily trainers are the Puma Forever Run Nitro (softer with some bounce) and the New Balance Vongo V5 (firmer).

    RIP Saucony Shift. But the Tempus has been my go to tempo day trainer and I've used them for the past 2 marathons!

    ASICS S4 i think is a good racing shoe for people with stability needs. I hope you'll be able to grab one (though its only available in Japan). cant seem to find lots of review about it.

    Haven’t tried the Shift but the Powerrun PB is awesome in the Tempus and I love the shoe- also have the Endorphin Pro3 - the carbon plate adds a surprising level of stability- great for pronation in races!

    Super shoes I agree with, I also think the saucony Elite is a good option for some stability, mid foot does narrow but has strong sidewalls on medial and lateral side through rear and mid foot , firmer HG foam and wide forefoot makes this a stable ride for me

    A good insight, thanks. I have the gel kayano 30 and like you say i do find it a little mushy and find it hard to pick up my legs when i start to get tired on longer runs. Looking at something a bit firmer underfoot so guide 16 or 860v13 seem like they could be the thing i'm looking for. I did try the hoka arahi and despite going for the extra wide fitting (i am a 'normal'width) i still had trouble with them digging into my arch. How do the 860's & guide fit in the midfoot?

  • @rileymaynor
    @rileymaynor ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Unfortunately the Kayano 30 in my opinion and experience the last 6 months… the foam gives out and becomes a bit flat and no bounce compared to the Speed 3

    • @supwell
      @supwell  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i'm having the same experience with the gel-nimbus right now. it seems the FF Blast+ foam loses its responsiveness and becomes mushy after a certain point. for me it's the 250 mile mark

      @Fozzee.1970 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      They are very different shoes with different foam types anyway. Kayano is for recovery or longer slow days. Speed 3 is a versatile daily trainer. And certainly isn't stable!

    What’s the deal with Saucony’s soles? The treads are rather flat and I’d wear those shoes out in 6-8 months as compared to my NB1080 which are still acceptable.

  • @bren750

    Hi Yowana, thank you for the vid. I have heard good things about the NB 860 for long distances (15 - 40Kms) . Someone I was speaking with recently mentioned that they found the Keyano also worked for them for long distances. Do you agree or is there something specific about them that you could suggest I consider, thank you again.

    Recently had a gait analysis said I’m a stable neutral runner, I currently run in the speed 3 and Clifton 8s would you say these are suitable?

    • @supwell
      @supwell  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yeah both of those have elements of mild stability - the speed 3 with the winged nylon plate and the clifton 8 with a slightly wider base. if you want even more stability and like the clifton, the hoka arahi offers a similar ride with more support

    I bought Gaviota 5 and Gel Kayano 30 together. I like Gaviota simply because the Gel Kayano gave me dead toenails immediately after a 5 km run. Will check the half size larger version if it will be ok.
    After 300+ kms, the Gaviota seemed to have become flatter and less cushiony.

    Where would you place NB Vongo V6? I currently have the Tempus and Kayano 30

    • @supwell
      @supwell  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Closer to the Kayano than the Tempus. Vongo is on the heavier side with more cushion (38mm heel, 32mm forefoot) - a bit less than the Kayano. Vongo should be good for slow miles, walking and general use - definitely not the first choice for uptempo running

  • @ptlewis2000
    @ptlewis2000 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Love the Tempus and on my second pair rotating with the GT 2000, but “tempo” trainer it is not. Uptempo long run at best. Go with the Hyperion Tempo or now GTS.
    Nailed it with the Shift as a recovery shoe! I put the Kayanos back on the shelf for emergencies now. True recovery paces, not people running easy in a super soft shoe and calling it a recovery. 🤦🏻‍♀️
