I remember exploring part of the docklands area during the late 90s - after cycling from Bradford to Leeds along the cut. An overgrown area of abandoned mills, big swathes of bramble and a row of ruins along a weed strewn cobbled lane, one building with only the lower walls remaining and no ceiling, with a big arched wooden doorway and a 10 foot high pile of dumped cables, tvs and computers right in the middle of it. It was somewhere off the south bank of river Aire, I believe, but not sure if it was near Granary Wharf or the east end of the river.
