  • What we discovered in the markets near where we live is that they have absolutely delicious mangoes, so we eat them every day. They are not Alphonso mangoes but are at least as good but much cheaper, because here I get them for maximum 100 rupees per kilo. I am not sure what they are called, I heard different names, like Didi and Bengali Mangoes but at the time I was not sure as there was a language problem at this very local market... anyway, let's see how the family like them. Please do watch the whole video, like it and write a comment, we would love to hear from you.
I am a professional writer gone vlogger. Let's see if I can make this professionally too. Please make sure you subscribe to my channel, Moonshine and Lemongrass and even share this video with your friends.

Great to see you guys visit my Kolkata, the city of joy. Enjoy your stay here, enjoy the state , enjoy the culture. We Bengalis are very proud and emotional about our culture, about our beloved city. You will love the people's hospitality here, unlike any other states or place all over India. People here will be always ready to adore and help you in any situations. Sometimes the language becomes a barrier here in Bengal because ground level working class people here are not always very well trained in the global language English, But they always try hard to overcome that. You probably understood now that. I just love your videos and wish you all the very best travelling the word.
P.S. According to the looks of that, I think these mangoes are Himsagar mangoes. They are the most delicious mangoes apart the heavenly Alphonso. I may be wrong, but by the looks of it I think they are Himsagar .

This mango name is HIMSAGAR beside this the green mango the seller is selling name is LANGRA.
In kolkata market you may find 10 to 15 types of mango.
The price of mango and coconut is absolutely perfect.
    Thank you for visiting.

    • @rational0

These are certainly NOT himsagar dear. (i think you get duped by the vendors often hahaha ) . They seem like safeda/malda to me. Himsagar is more round and always has green speck on them. him sagar will never be so uniform in color. Yes the green ones are the common langra. Also , himsagar is way more costly than ₹120per kg (more like 500 per kg) Online they are being sold for 800 to 1100 ... but they ship anywhere in india. Most of himsagars today get exported to japan korea etc.
