So glad to see the Philippines mango called “carabao” as number 1. It’s the most favorite of pacific islanders even here in the USA. We are blessed to have one in our backyard as we have 7 different varieties! We can’t get enough of this fruits, from one generation to the next our families have a mango tree grown on their house (part of our family tradition) and the young ones in the present time, grow it in the pots as lucky charm!❤️🤗

The Sweet Elena carabao mango from Sta. Cruz, Zambales is the best and sweetest variety of carabao mango in the Philippines.
3000 to 4000 mango varieties in india alone. Most of the varieties mentioned here are having origins in Indian original varieties. Alphonso, Banginipalli, Dasseri, Imam Pasand, Pedda Rasalu, Chinna Rasalu, Langda, Malda are by far better than any the rest of the world produces. They just don't export and so the rest of the world isn't aware. Huge population that just eats everything that is locally produced. But they don't import any mangoes as they produce so much themselves

Year 1980 the old mango trees can be found in many Philippine provinces and during the first month of rainy season month of May, ripe mangoes are falling from trees everytime wind blows and children bring bucket to collect the sweet yellow mangoes! I remember I collected 2 buckets of ripe mangoes in just 5 minutes! The usual varieties are Carabao mango, piko mango and pahutan mango(wild variety with small fruits but sweeter than carabao mango!)

The sweetness of mangoes in the Philippines is measured by laboratory equipment. This is periodically done across major province producers. So Guimaras and carabao mango are not established because of perception and taste-test.

ive tried a manila x miyazaki mango hybrid and it was probably the BEST mango ive tried along with the rare indian black mango which tasted like durian without the smell.

The carabao mango when properly grown and not artificially ripened is quite delicious. But Filipinos who have not tried a variety of mangoes from different countries should expand their taste experience. Like other foods, there are types of mangoes suitable for different occasions, and one is missing a lot by keepinone or two kinds. There are hundreds of mango varieties so a whole world of new experiences is out there for the adventurous.
I have always loved carabao mangoes but I'm sure all these mangoes are delicious.

Same question for me too. In this video they don’t mentioned sweetness level of mango. Brix value must be added when it come to sweetness.
Tommy Atkins are not sweet enough to get 10th place. They are good for export. But sweetness is very low as compare other varieties.
Alphonso also good. But kesar mango from India is more sweeter than alphonso. But Kesar mango have some fibers. But alphonso is fiberless.
Guimaras manggo is the sweetest kind of carabao manggo and i have it in my backyatd now it produce lots of fruits soon to harvest😢😢😢😢

Chaunsa (white) is the king of mangoes from Sindh region of Pakistan 🇵🇰 It' hasn't fiber, has sweet aroma, delicious in taste, smooth yellow skinned and has a good-looking shape.
