Great tablet for basically everything. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxLNmVocUk8tnSkwWIlYSNFzWRIaFTBuzS I bought it specifically for art, and that 4k screen is really fantastic for it! Standby time us FANTASTIC. This guy can go about a week on standby and be just fine. The screen is massive so the longer you have the screen on, brightness especially, it will effect battery life. I am very happy with it though! One thing that I didn't consider is that since the screen resolution is so high, viewing ticktocks/ reading webtoons can be slightly blurry. There is no way to turn down resolution either, so it just be like that.Would still judge this bad boi at 10/10 for my first tablet. I've had it 3 months now and its not shown any evidence of "slowing down" or anything. Love it!
Adobe photoshop just dropped on ipad at 2020 beginning. It will come to android soon got delayed due to covid. Other than that all Adobe apps are the same on both
Hey man. You can do it. Use Dex and then share the laptop screen on the tab s7+. I use it. It allows me to use pc apps like Adobe Photoshop cc on the tab without any issues. Just try sharing the pc screen to the tab. But only one problem is that the pc needs to be on all the time when you are using the pc app and in iPad you can use it as a standalone device. But I think it is worth it to miss out as this is a standalone device and you don't need to buy an entire ecosystem for full experience like apple.

I have this tablet, plus a Windows PC plus an iPhone. I don't really have brand or operating software loyalty. I really like the features of this tablet. It replaces my old, original Tab S and so this was my first experience with DEX which I think is underrated. I truly think that this tablet can replace a desktop for a lot of people, student or work professional, and will certainly be the only thing I'll take with me when I travel. I also was incredibly impressed with Samsung's software that basically cloned every app, document and video on my old tablet and put it automatically on the new tablet. It's the easiest software I've ever used for that purpose and saved me a lot of time.
I have both iPad Pro and s7+, both have big ups/downs depending on what you want out of it. Benefits of s7 for me besides screen and sound = emulation/gaming, cloud gaming, and full setup/customization (just looks straight dope!). For iPad it is definitely the apps and overall eco system for me since i have an iphone. But i don’t discriminate since I have both tablets. I prefer to look at the strengths of each tablet rather than weaknesses
i am planning to buy s7+ but the thing bothers me is that i overheard that android tablets hang/freeze over a span of a year or two, so i planned to buy ipad pro but the problem is i have to pay for apps for note taking(my only purpose of buying tablet) and i all i want is one time invest no in app purchases so can you help me by giving insight on the condition of our s7+ after usage of a year does it hang and what about note taking apps??
@@aryamehta1979 well, first of all excuse my english because is not my mother language. I don’t own a tablet of any kind but i can tell about apps in case you end up buying an ipad instead of the s7 because there’s no taking notes app preinstalled in the ipad besides the normal one (I understand that you wanna take notes with the s pen). You can download concepts, it’s a drawing app but you can change the white canvas for a lined or squared paper canvas and take your notes for free. There are some in app purchase options but taking notes is free
@@aryamehta1979 as I said I don’t own any tablet so I can’t tell you advantages and disadvantages between them but I own an android smartphone and an iPhone and I can tell you that apps on ios are better than on android, things are better organized and sometimes the same app on ios has more functions than on android, that’s the only reason I prefer an iPhone. And talking about note taking apps, I think concepts is the only one that is completely free on iOS and android
Love my premium Tab 7+ with keyboard cover/trackpad. The screen is visually stunning, great hardware, and expandable storage (camera-who cares?). Nicer apps? The Samsung Appstore/Google Play store gets the job done. Always great products are delivered from Samsung products. From my dishwasher, oven, refrigerator, and Galaxy Note Ultra --Samsung never disappoints.
Im glad i found this video im a student and ive been looking for a tablet to last me a few years but samsung was lacking and i much prefer the Android OS so apple has never been it for me i was considering getting the note phone but thats much more expensive with less school oriented application im glad theyve really improved on the Tab series and for a good price
If anyone is capable of making an app for students on the samsung just as organised as in the ipad note taking app. (not sure how it's called.) especially for students. You'd be the best friend of a student for life. Or as long as the tablet holds.
Nebu does the Job perfect for me. But its main feature is converting Handwritten Text into "Keyboard Text" (yk what I mean right?). So if you drawing a lot or have to put down a ton of equations, than Nebu really isnt for you.
I went to Best Buy to check this tablet myself.. and I FELL IN LOVE!! As for myself, a college student, an artist, a light gamer and watches lots of video, this tablet is it. The pen also magnetic to the sides with mine. The problem that I have had with my IPad and iPhone is that I had to pay for most apps, while I could get it for free with my android. I bought them because people say the apps were better, but you also have to pay for many of them even if I want to get different backgrounds. I was used with android before this so this was really surprising so I sold my iPad pro 2018 for the S7 plus and I am satisfied again XD
Do you have the latest version of Samsung Notes? You can do everything of what you complained. Can write on pdf, import images and also record voice, chech that out
I did mention that it had voice recording. My complaint was that you couldn’t import files from within the app-you could only share them from without (export).
Ironic, I usually think android apps tend to be more effective than the apple ones, especially the free ones. Yeah, Apple's app are optimize very well; the paid ones I mean. But for the free ones? I doubt it compares to the android ones. Also, most of the time, free apps in Apple usually disappears after a few months and get converted to being a paid one especially the ones that became popular and most downloaded.
My student review is to make sure all your software is compatible with Android. Also it is pc like but not an actual pc so expect have complications doing school work. But when it comes to entertainment and sketching this is perfect and a good price range!
I love my s7 plus! I use it for all my office work an it seems to be ...what I need. Plus -drone footage - Lightroom an art - can’t complain. As for the keyboard. Odd you guys paid $200+ . When I preorderd mine it cost me $115 so was a DRAL!
Finally, ayyy. I’ve been a subscriber since like the creation of this channel and the content has gotten better! From one college student to another, keep grinding!
My mom got me an S7 off amazon from that Prime Day deal and I was just blown away by it. For the price, she was also able to gift me one of the keyboard cases all for under $300.00. Its just a wonderful piece of tech.
I got an S6 lite to replace my chromebook Plus V1 that had died not long ago. Ended up bringing it back barely 2 hours later after I found out the terrible state of snipping. You had to save the snip to the gallery, then either open the gallery in squid (or your preferred notes app) then import, or have the gallery open as a floating tab and drag n drop, in order to get snipped images in to get annotated. There is no simple copy/paste like on my chromebook. Everything else was great about it, but copy/pasting snips into squid is such an integral part of my note taking/lecture following workflow that I just couldn't keep the S6 lite and ended up grabbing another Plus V1 used for $160. Just something to think about when getting an android tablet for school.
I had a galaxy tab A 8 inches for like 3 years now and it was fine for high school and for most of my time in college, but I realize that I take heavy notes and use a lot of scrap paper for practice and flashcards for important notes/equations and its a mess and I was actually debating whether or not to get the s6 or s7, cause I want something portable and powerful for both productivity and entertainment. but now with this review video, I'm gonna get the s7
Same tho. The beginning of high school was easy with the Tab A but recently I noticed that it gets really laggy everytime I try to draw or take notes on Autodesk (Also, my stylus decided that it would peace out of the world forever). In a year I'll be going on to college and I plan on getting the S7 or the S7+ and this guy pretty much sold me on the S7.
It depends on the courses that you're doing to be honest. If you're taking subjects focused on biology the biggest perk is you can simply drag and drop the best pictures/diagrams right into the middle of your notes and you'll never lose it. I've gone 4 years through uni so far without keeping any online notes and the biggest problem with that is you lose everything in terms of note taking which is super frustrating. My advice to is to get into some form of online note taking if you're in uni.
STEM courses. I've taken notes on my Surface Pro exclusively for the past few years. Using a digitizer is good for diagrams and writing out equations. It's also good for studying, doing homework, and color coding notes.
@@dahasolomon7314 Yeah this is why I'm thinking of going digital. In A-Level written notes just take so long especially since I did biology, chemistry and geography which are subjects that have a lot of diagrams and I'm also someone who writes so much that my notes always end up missing. I'm starting pharmacy this September so more diagrams & calcs lol. At least with digital my notes won't get lost and there's always the option to print.
I love how it's a bit more affordable for a person like me who can't drop almost a 1000 for a tablet thats similar. I have the tab 6 planning to upgrade when i can
Duo works just as good as Facetime! Especially if you are in the Andriod Eco-System with your phone they have made some great updates to it since this video. Great video!
It has a longer battery than Ipad. I have the s7 plus. I only bought the s7plus for reading pdfs on the large screen but had it not been for that I would have gotten the S7 as it has a superior screen...more pixels.
Wish samsung notes had a couple extra features for more seamless use but other than that i love galaxy tabs with spen support. Still rocking a tab A6 with spen, its quite underpowered but for note taking and social media consumption it gets the job done
Bought an iPad Air 4 ( since I have an iPhone and a Mac) and decided to switch to digital note-taking and I must say, in my experience there's a short adjustment period when switching from pen and paper to a tablet and a stylus. BUT.......I tried using the Samsung Galaxy Tab s7 and I felt a level of familiarity to it. The S-pen resembles my favorite Faber Castell Pen and now I slightly regret buying the iPad Air 4. damn .
As someone that reads manga and watches anime android still wins it for me. The app selection, because it is open source, is much wider when it comes to my particular interests. The best available apps to read manga pale in comparison to Tachiyomi and the best anime app available on Apple is still available on Android (Crunchyroll) while Android also has many other third party choices. A tablet is primarily a media centric device. It can work but it won't compare to a laptop in productivity and while it can be used for social media, pictures, shooting video etc. it isn't as portable/accessible as a phone and the cameras typically aren't as good. That said, for reading digital books, manga and watching anime/movies etc a tablet excels in that specific aspect over a laptop or phone IMHO. Whether it's worth $600-$1000 is dependant on the individual.
On the android side I don't think we'll see a tablet that can perform like a laptop/m1 (or even the 2018 pro), especially out of Samsung now that they're basically gonna do what Apple is doing and keep their tablet as a accessory to their laptop/phones... it sucks but the brains of businessmen won't allow them to just make the best product possible, if it means they become their own competition.
2 years later, still good? also, did you use the 4,5 or 6gb model? I saw some other dude claiming you should get the 4gb model bc..idk why. what do you think?
MS Office apps have limited functionality on Android devices, including the Samsung Tab S7. One can do basic things on the tablet, but the MS Office apps do not match the laptop/desktop version by any stretch.
Very fair review. I picked up the larger one and I really like it a lot. Now they have Game Pass by microsoft Xbox so now I really really love it...can't get that on the iPad.
Hello teacher, I stayed between tab s7 and ipad 8, the prices are the same now. My goal is to read more pdf books, study etc. My previous tablet was a spen Samsung tablet model. Which one do you think I should choose.
I dunno....although I have the s21 Ultra and the s7+ would be better suited to my ecosystem I feel the ipad is still a great buy for me at least mainly because of the extra screen footprint and it allows me to be part of both OS.
Nice review.I like the pleasantly casual vibe, it's very relaxing. Would you recommend it as an effective upgrade over a Galaxy Tab S4? I have one of those now and while competent, I find it small to use in DEX mode. I have no interest in iPads and I think I'd appreciate the larger form factor on the S7 +. Nice job Harris!
Definitely! The tab s7 plus has an AMOLED, 12.4 inch, and 120hz refresh rate screen with the newest snapdragon 865+ chip. If you do end up using the S-Pen, the latency has been reduced to 9ms (which is bonkers!). The price of 850 for base model, 128gb and 6gb ram, is pretty hefty tho 😅. If you got money to burn, definitely worth am upgrade.
I am using the S7+ right now, it's definitely a big upgrade. i been using it for class, game, reading and watching movies. never see a single stutter. not to mention the display, it's really beautiful!
New subscriber here,i love your videos and I’m going back to school for electrician. I have Apple but thinking about switching to galaxy. I’m happy they tablets finally getting good.
Can you multi task like on pc with word, excel, chrome etc and any combination thereof in the dex mode? Looking at PDFs and copying/ noting down points and such plays a very important role to me and it has to be snappy. I'm looking for a laptop replacement in terms of the above and maybe running Arduino ide or some form of c/c++ and phyton coding. Is this feasible on the s7 or the ipad? Or is it recommended that I get a laptop. Appreciate a response. Thank you!
I really love this device, im a ilustrator and the drawing experience its amazing, it does feel awesome, responsive and presice. Now with a profesional software like clip studio paint we are able to finish the job. But to be honest sometimes i really miss the power of the ipad pro and also to be capable of choose other profesional software.
Hey I know this comment is old, but what do you mean with the power off the iPad Pro? I’m really torn on which tablet I should get, I mostly draw for fun and would use it mostly for school.
@@marble_rn9809 it has a faster processor than the tab, both will get the job done. Sometimes when working on bigger projects my tab lags and during video editing in 4k (even 1080p sometimes) the app will crash (or lag).... problems you will have less of on the iPad, but not a deal breaker for me I just have to be patient with certain things or find work around which enables my creativity.
I just purchased this today on eBay for 350.00 in the bronze color. The screen on the 7 plus is to big for me. With the Samsung S7, I can just stick it in my bag while I'm on the go commuting back, and forth. I'm content with the choice I made.
The ipad pro 128gb is 999$ and a extra 100$ for apple pen, whereas the s pen is free, with expandable storage • 256gb is 1099 plus 100 for apple pen • 512gb is 1299 plus 100 for apple pen So basically, you're paying 100$ more for the base iPad pro, $200 more the 256, and $400 for the top ipad pro storage, than the top s7+ Apple Air is $599 for 64gb with no expendable memory? And 32gb for 329$ lol. Apple knows that their users are oblivious. And this is why we say iphone ppl are dumb. You can get the galaxy tab s7 11 inch with 128gb internal and expendable memory for 649$. The only thing that the ipad can do better is edit videos faster. Other than that, there's no advantage Apple ppl have the same lame excuses as to why "iPad is better " because of the A chip 1. Performance is basically the same ( except for video editing) ask apple ppl in what dept is the performance better or where the chip really matters. They'll say gaming and video editing 2. Apps eventually go over to Android 3. Benchmarks means nothing when it comes to day to day use 4. Samsung gets security patch updates every month and now 3yrs of software updates. Who the hell wants to keep a device for 5 years when tech is moving so fast. 3 years is Enough. I personally trade in my Samsung device yearly with Samsung trade in program and split the difference. But Apple ppl like "we get 5 years of software updates " only apple ppl dumb enough to keep the same boring hardware for 5yrs while tech gets better. Heres your cookie 5. Samsung has its own ecosystem too. Buds, phone, watch, tablets, and laptops all works together
I can agree with you on your overpriced storage argument and some other points but the software support being TOO long is ridiculous. I feel like not everyone has the money to upgrade on a yearly or every three year basis and it’s better for them to spend a little more for longevity rather then spend a little less and have to upgrade in 3 years instead of five. I’m using a 2016 iPhone 7 and plan to continue using it for at least another year, I know others that are doing the same. I also know there are people who still use the iPad Air 2 from 2014. When you ask what the powerful processor is really needed for I agree that it’s kinda overkill for current users, it’s only after a few years when that power will be utilised to run the newer versions of iOS. While it will be running on “the same boring hardware” it will still have most of, if not all of the same modern features. Sorry if this comment was a bit long but I just didn’t agree with some of your points.
@@salocin9009 I agree with you that some people want to keep their devices for more than 3 years, especially multi-device people that have several tablets, laptops etc. However why the hell should you stop using a device if it does not get the latest update. App compatibility is not an issue for at least 2-3 more years after the last update. The S7 will probably get Andoir 13 in early 2023 (after 3 and a half year from lanch) but will still be compatible with everything at least till 2025 so after 6 years... And Samaung releases security after the last update for a while (not monthly but quarterly but still...). Devices on Android 8 still got security update up to this year....
I went to the Mall Browsing whether or not I should get the Ipad Mini 6 or the Tab S7 for class. They told me I could get the Mini but it was too expensive and I was looking to get it with a Keyboard and pen but they're both separate so I would be spending 2x than what the Tab S7 was selling. The lady at the store said I could spend a lot less on the S7 and it already comes with the Pen and Keyboard case, I was hesitant at first about the Ipad Mini or the S7 Tab but then I realized I could spend a lot less buying the S7 and it already has everything I need like the Pen and Connectable Keyboard unlike the Ipad Mini I'd be spending way more since they're all seperate. So I took the S7 and it was a day well spent, its been great for Classes online *AND* going to Face to Face Classes. So with the review in the video I definitely recommend the Samsung Tab S7, but if you prefer Apple for your personal needs and if you choose apple because it has what you use on a day to day basis then go for it, but the S7 works just as great.

Do you write a lot with it? (Keyboard/pen) and do you think it's worth it if i dont write that much? Sometimes i draft/sketch my notes and i mostly do many math exercises....alot.
@@Andres-ut1dp Yes sure go ahead mention as many apps as u want as well as mention the advantages of ipad over s7

👍
If anyone is capable of making an app for students on the samsung just as organised as in the ipad note taking app. (not sure how it's called.) especially for students. You'd be the best friend of a student for life. Or as long as the tablet holds.

Nebu does the Job perfect for me. But its main feature is converting Handwritten Text into "Keyboard Text" (yk what I mean right?). So if you drawing a lot or have to put down a ton of equations, than Nebu really isnt for you.
I have the 7 FE and it already had noteshelf installed. I find it really good

The pen also magnetic to the sides with mine. The problem that I have had with my IPad and iPhone is that I had to pay for most apps, while I could get it for free with my android. I bought them because people say the apps were better, but you also have to pay for many of them even if I want to get different backgrounds.
Android has 900,000 more apps than Apple. But why bother with facts.
Let's push a narrative that can't be proven, like optimization..lol
I brought it a few days back for reading online books, it's nice and I admire it.
I bought mine in best buy and the cover cost me like $100, hmm

@@skumarw7810 I’ve never gotten headaches from using my tablet. Unless I’m holding it too close to my face.
4:36 Yes
Thank you so much for the video!
I needed to buy a tablet for uni, but ipad was beyond my budget, so i was curious about this one
What a great review, I'm getting mine tomorrow, best buy $80 off.
Dex mode makes the homescreen and layout so much better
I never understood people who took notes on tablets.. regardless I want one for some reason lol
Same
It depends on the courses that you're doing to be honest.
And I'm here wid latest ipad + 1 tb storage just watching TH-cam 🤡 kinda embarrassed tbh
I don't even know why i took this but yeah here I'm
I have the tab 6 planning to upgrade when i can
wish it was affordable in my country, a lot of stores here sell it for 900+ - 1000+ and here I thought I was excited to get it :'))
Love the tip about the Micro SD card. That was very helpful when deciding whether to go with the 128GB or the 256GB.

It has a longer battery than Ipad. I have the s7 plus. I only bought the s7plus for reading pdfs on the large screen but had it not been for that I would have gotten the S7 as it has a superior screen...more pixels.
more pixel doesn't better screen lol
as a tab s7 user, it's really good and if you can find a good second hand deal like I did, for sure get it!
This tablet is sorta underrated

Apple has the tech, they're literally limiting the 16gb ram version of the m1 ipad pro with the OS.

I dunno....although I have the s21 Ultra and the s7+ would be better suited to my ecosystem I feel the ipad is still a great buy for me at least mainly because of the extra screen footprint and it allows me to be part of both OS.
did you end up getting the ipad?
I love the way the video is perfectly 10 minutes

Also I forgot can you buy clip studio paint on the tab s7 or do you have to pay monthly?
Finally got mine too. It's going good
Wait why dose the camera on the tab s7 look better than my tab s7plus they have the same camera right ...
The ipad pro 128gb is 999$ and a extra 100$ for apple pen, whereas the s pen is free, with expandable storage
• 256gb is 1099 plus 100 for apple pen
• 512gb is 1299 plus 100 for apple pen
So basically, you're paying 100$ more for the base iPad pro, $200 more the 256, and $400 for the top ipad pro storage, than the top s7+
Apple Air is $599 for 64gb with no expendable memory? And 32gb for 329$ lol. Apple knows that their users are oblivious. And this is why we say iphone ppl are dumb.
You can get the galaxy tab s7 11 inch with 128gb internal and expendable memory for 649$. The only thing that the ipad can do better is edit videos faster. Other than that, there's no advantage
Apple ppl have the same lame excuses as to why "iPad is better " because of the A chip
1. Performance is basically the same ( except for video editing) ask apple ppl in what dept is the performance better or where the chip really matters. They'll say gaming and video editing
2. Apps eventually go over to Android
3. Benchmarks means nothing when it comes to day to day use
4. Heres your cookie
This sucka has some anger issues, lol. Let it go bro. People will buy what they want, people have different needs, etc, dork.
Todo lo demás es bueno
