Was a pleasure going into battle with you fine gentleman, and massive props to Matt for making the ultimate sacrifice just for us bros to get pistol whipped. I salute you!
LOL cant believe you stole on the pitcher!!! i couldn't catch too well, but boy could I throw dudes out at second. what an awesome video lol - baseball is so ridiculously hard and painful - just got done a game in the pouring ran where everyone was falling down in the last inning - god i wish we could use any ball from any other sport sometimes lol. great job to everyone involved, looks so much fun!!! great job on the field, looks like you had a lot of fun and thats what its alllll abouttttt
Guys, I don't typically comment on videos, but i had to here. This is one of the best videos you've posted. Funny with a lot of heart, long enough to feel like a good story, and brisk enough to not get stale. Great content, gents. Hitting that subscribe button.
I play baseball and I can confirm it is hard, but practice and repetition makes skill, but not perfection. Nobody can be perfect, not even major leaguers.
I lead my little league in stolen bases, also in failed attempts, but by god I loved getting hbp, then stealing second and getting into scoring position without anyone hitting a ball it's the best situation honestly
serious question, if you're leg got that fucked up from throwing a pitch, wasn't it a matter of timee that it happened anyway? either way, rest up and hope you feel better, great video guys
Looked really fun ngl, baseball is so hard man. Have the utmost respect for mlb players it’s the hardest I feel like. Also Stony Brook shout-out nice, Matt sounds like if I did it lol
Back in high school I wasnt the best hitter but I could damn well pitch. Started throwing curves too young and threw 85 at only 16 years old and being only 5'7. I guess my muscles and tendons were growing too slow compared to everything else or something like that and I ended up partially tearing my UCL. Now 10 years later I want to rip my arm off any time I throw anything lol
Why don't you guys go international? Example: Curaçao has like a baseball week event with pros from the island playing in the MLB. Maybe you guys can play in the exhibition game. It's a win-win, the exposure would be great for Curaçao, plus you guys can really get a glimpse of Caribbean Baseball and how much love there is for the game worldwide.
Just think: Simply hitting a thrown baseball with a wooden bat like Mike Trout does can earn you $40 million a year. So quit your regular job and spend your days at public batting cages until you get your hitting up to the Mile Trout level.
I was lucky enough to play in a couple showcase tournaments and against one of the best high schools in NorCal. I am ecstatic to say I am right at the Mendoza line against 90+.
The way I see it, if Bartolo Colon can get a hit, so can a normal healthy person with some practice to get acclimated to just how fast the pitchers are throwing the ball, and a healthy dose of luck. If you can make contact, you can get a hit.
Wow you mean that a basketball player isn't good at baseball? Crazy. I stupidly thought a good basketball player would be good at baseball. I feel dumb now.
waiiiit, youre telling me you dorks never played before? that explains a lot. even the way yall talk about it, as if most people who watch this video never played. "baseball is hard, we tried it". 🤣🤣
Baseball is the hardest sport I’ve ever played. I never played past Little League, but we played in the park as teenagers and my brother (pitched in college) invited me to join an over-30 year old league. This league banned players who were two years or sooner removed from professional play. We played a stacked team once and I faced a guy with the last name McNichol(sp) who had a “cup of coffee” with the Cubs three years prior. He was throwing high 80s or low 90s and I came to the plate in a route (we lost 20-0). First pitch was a fastball and I whiffed hard. The second pitch was a fastball and I fouled it off and just that brought a smile to my face. The next pitch was the nastiest slider I’d ever seen and I waved at it, inning over. As I walked back to the dugout, my manager shook his head and said “Jesus Christ that was wicked. Don’t feel bad.” The mixture of fastballs and breaking balls makes it ridiculously hard. For me, even golf is easier (and I suck at golf).
To be fair, when Jordan came into the league, there ended up being a strike. Now, if Jordan's drive to be the best he could be at baseball was as strong as it was for his basketball game, he would have been a decent, if not, good baseball player. He was already in his 30s when he decided to make this switch. I doubt he would have been a HOFer, but I think he would have been ok.
Quite simply put, baseball is a game of failure. No other sport inducts Hall of Fame players at a 30% career success rate. Think of that. Ty Cobb had a career .366 batting average. That means only 36% of the time was he successful. Would NFL quarterbacks or NBA players be inducted with a percentage success like that? NO! Baseball is a great game and one of the hardest of all at which to succeed. 😁
honestly man, baseball is just practice. I played as a kid and made the all star and travel team. I quit baseball because it wasn't "cool" like "drugs". Several years later when I was 18, I went to the batting cage. I was surprised when I whiffed at every single pitch. I feel like if I made it a habit and did it a few more times I would get the hang of it again. I'm convinced that if you aren't actively playing baseball, you will get out of practice. I wish there was a way for adults to get back into baseball because I miss it.
Let me question something do you know where you will go after you die? If not let me say you can have a choice to either go to hell or heaven see 2000 years ago there was this man named Jesus who died on the cross for our sins and rose alive 3 days later all because he truly loved us he died for us so I question you now do you truly believe in Jesus or do you live for the world turn to Jesus Christ trust in him Christ has way much more to give than the world he loves us turn to Christ
Our event with the Sock Puppets also raised about $2,000 for underprivileged youth in the Burlington, NC area!

Hope you guys had fun! looks awesome to play against some real players!

"It's incredibly hard"
"Hey, anything worth doing, is"
gotta get Matt Antonelli in there as y'all's ringer next year
And Trevor Ploufe
People who say baseball (or any sport really) is easy have never played. The pros make it look easy but in no way is it.
Fishing the easiest sport

no shit baseball takes godly amount of repittion you have to play everyday to be up to par
what is this wholesome, positive content? didn't know such a thing was allowed on yt!
Thoroughly enjoyed. Even though you guys lost, you fought to the end. Respect! and Recognition!
I've never played ball. I would love to be able to walk into the box and just be completely obliterated by a semi pro.
serious question, if you're leg got that fucked up from throwing a pitch, wasn't it a matter of timee that it happened anyway?

Next year split squads. Half pros and joes against one another. Melon puppets vs Sock Heads
aww I'm so handsome!
love the videos guys keep it coming, and yes Baseball is hard lol. The pros just make it look easy. Thats coming from someone who played pro-ball.
As a fellow mcl injured soul, I wish you luck in your journey.

Wait you tore your ACL from pitching?
Nvm I see ur joking lmao
I have more trouble hitting a golf ball off a tee than I do hitting pitches. Of course baseball is hard. Its just so damn fun!

Baseball is an easy game. You're just uncoordinated.
Should have brought Trever Bauer out for shits and gigs.

Sadman so dreamy he messed with the pitcher...
Did he sprint to first on a pop fly out behind the catcher in foul territory? What?
I'm not a TH-camr, but I would love to experience this. Plz let me next time

All sports are difficult when you haven’t done them before. Baseball isn’t and far from cross country skiing.
Any baseball player can go to any other sport and compete.
Why don’t y’all just do TH-camrs be TH-camrs
Lol

It's especially "stupidly" hard when the closest you've been to a baseball is in the stands or at a computer editing videos about baseball.
literally mentioned playing high school and travel ball in the video but alright 🙃
@@srsmatt7272 Oh don't angry there Matty. My comment wasn't directed at you or any of you...Keep up the good work. Literally.
