The Non TT exchange booths along 2nd Road also give pretty good exchanges, but it still smarts for those of us that remember the glory days of 50+ baht to the pound. Did the same a few weeks ago. As it happens I was going on the train to BKK but in future I will go to the train level for the best airport rates weather or not I am getting the train. Just for info I was staying on the dark side where the only option was to use the banks where exchange rates were lower than in the booths in town.
That is the big problem, rates going up and down. What i do is checking the rates for 2 weeks before I go and then decide how much I change at the first floor Bangkok airport. They have always the best rate, but like I said, If rates gets slowly going up, I still change at 1st floor Bangkok airport, but not all my money. TT is the best in Pattaya. Difference with SR and all those on 1th floor not very very much worse. It is quit easy to find SR and other good exchange , just go down like you show us. Thank you.

But if going to nana in bkk i will use vasu money exchange on soi 7/1 who also do a good rate. At the airport thou i use the lift rather than the escalotor as its quicker. Interesting the USD was better in basement of airport vs TT exchange. I've heard people say to go to basement but just never took the time to search it out. Good tip... Bring all 100's and stop at the super rich in bangkok ratchamadri. No better rate in my experience! If trading 5k or more you can request the rate be even better. Edited due to a site I mentioned no longer showing super rich. But in my 3 trips I did lots of checking and they had the best all 3 times. 1 night to recuperate in BKK is always nice in my opinion so it never costs more to stop by ratchmadri super rich. First day is always a short one for me considering the 27hr flight

Yes Don. There are SIM cards available in the booths by baggage reclaim. All the major Thai networks have stands and staff who will set it up for you. True, AIS, dtac are all there. I think they are by baggage belt 18. I'll check in about 36 hours though.
I find it a little crazy people waste time searching for baht exchanges that might get you a half a baht difference. The time and cost of transport locating the differences is not worth the hunt in my mind.

BFB, this is André from Canada. I think I told you a couple times already that CC Currency exchange on Soi 8 has a slightly better rate than TT ....but still, you won't visit it in your videos :( (on Soi 8, it's close to the 2nd road end. Look for a brught red booth, you can't miss it)
Suparich offer same good rates at all their booths. The other booths in airport basement have to compete with their neighbour booth at suparich otherwise they won't do any business.

Changing money in the airports is always shit,get your Thai Bath sorted before you go then you have some Thai baht to get you where ever the you can change cash,airports are all shit not good rate at all.
0.05 of a Baht! Come on man let's not split atoms. E.g change £1500 catch the train to Pats' instead of taxi and you've saved 1000TB immediately, which justifies 0.05 of a baht I'd have lost at exchange booth, then enjoy my hols' with an immediate saving of £18.80ish..

No. It would work out considerably worse as Thailand has an onshore and offshore rate. It is always better to exchange money in the kingdom.

You can exchange much more than that. They are referring to 500 euro notes. The largest denomination of euro note is the 500 euro note.

The Superich orange booths do not have good rates. Superich green counter has the best rates of all on Basement floor.

Obviously suvarnabhumi wasn't there in 2001! I've never found a decent rate at Don Muang!
