Arven Tahtyan the other is very precise and neutral in the corners and it has famous inline five engine with fantastic sound. Try to live in the present time heavy nose Audi’s are the past. I’m the M3 owner.
Well, i really think he has changed. On the videos slightly (Chris Harris would never come up With that funometer BS), but specially during the shows. Everyone knows top gear is scripted, and i personally dont like the "role" they give to Chris. But in time, BBC will understand that he is the main presenter and the main reason for many of us to watch the show.
@@danielhcdeath-eater258 Seen an 8 series in person and it's big, but really looked about the same as the M5 next to it. Maybe it was a bit longer, but it looked a lot sleeker.
muhammad shofwan that's because the M3 'grew up' as in overtime with each passing generation. Its dimensions have grown due to stricter crash safety standards.
Funny coming back to this video. This was one of the main videos that inspired me to buy an M2. Manual. In blue. Had it almost 3 years and couldn't be happier with it.
Well, i still think there is way too much bullshit going on. Like this "funometer" thing. The ones who know Chris Harris from his previous work know he would never do something like this. BBC needs to get a grip and move on...
that's my thought as well. the Funometer was maybe one of the scriptwriters thinking they need to do something funny. if that is chris' idea then better leave these idea in the closet. i miss the charismatic setting chris did in the past on his videos. be yourself chris. imitation is never working.
I’ve driven the M2 ok I call it BMW ABORTION first it’s the size of a cell phone it’s construction is at the bottom of the barrel and NOT A TRUE M CAR. I could not get out of it fast enough and be lined it to the M3 So much better in every way I bought the M3. But for those who can’t afford a real BMW then the 1 or 2 series are a nice starter/trainer car Now I drive the f10 M5
Thats not the question. We all understand the potential of the program, because we saw it before, and are currently displeased With the quality. I love Chris, i have followed him for many years, but this is not normal Chris Harris, is the role BBC wants him to play. And it sucks.
i agree. Chris tries a mask here and he seems artficial. Clarkson May or Hammond had each a character set of their own. trying to imitate that or wanting to put a spark to the show now is a hard task. harris will never be a clarkson and neither of the other two. anyways. i liked his reviews in the past and his own way or setting it up. this here is not really a good harris thing.
Why does this video has so many dislikes? It's a great video.. Just look at the efforts they put into it... It's not easy to get all those cinematic shots!
Love my M2, same as the one Chris is driving except I have the flappy paddles. Which I also love. I’ve heel/toed enough, I like banging off shifts with one finger. I know there are newer, hotter M2s than my N55, but I love how it sounds and how it looks. A light tune and I have the same power anyway.
One year after watching this video, I happened to get a long beach blue M2 DCT (built in OCT 2016). I cannot be happier, it's kind of my dream car and meets the "back to basics" / KISS philosophy. Thanks Chris.
Anyone that dislikes a video that has Chris Harris in it, is obviously not a true car enthusiast. Thus the majority of these dislikes are coming from people with the IQ of a door knob. Yes, that's a Clarksonesque quote :)
Great video Chris, thank you. I really don't care what the youtube channel is called /DRIVE, Chris Harris on Cars or TG as long as I can enjoy such nice car videos :)
This review reminds of the old no-nonsense Clarckson era-top gear reviews we used to get in the early 2000's- no fluff- just a good and entertaining car review. Well done Chris.
I bought an m2 last year based on this review and I have to admit you're spot on. Absolutely love it, even tempted to go for the competition later on this year.
i hope you stayed with the og m2 and just upgraded it with better seats, m2 comp strut braces/big breaks/dct-diff-steering software and good coilovers and tires. this will make you og m2 much better then aven the cs model for much less money

He could make a video of a Prius, if still watch it! I LOVE his presentation of the format! Big shout out to Carey as well, even though he doesn't get to film these TG bits
to be honest, in my perspective i prefer top gear over the grand tour, especially last several episodes into the 23rd season with more presence of chris harris and rorry read (pardon me if i spell his name wrong). chris evans never actually nailed it, but at least he tried. and he made a good decission to leave. the grand tour was the old top gear, always hillariously funny, rich with unusual stand point toward automotive industry, very strong in showcasing their political views and the grand tour is more to entertaiment rather than motoring content. not to say it is bad, absolutely not. to some people it is enjoyable to watch as i have watched all aired episodes yet. it was fun. but to me personally, top gear served me a more balanced dose between entertaiment and importantly interesting delivery on automotive content. i always love how they, the new trio, described their thought on cars they drive. it is like watching an article in road and track magazine being visually read in a real life action.
Well I quite like the direction Chris seems to be going. Right now he is half way between his old Chris Harris on cars style videos and top gear entertainment style episodes, talks petrol head language, gets to the point and gives us a good idea on the car itself, but at the same time has moved toward a top gear presenter style of acting (think the business man comparison and sales person bits). If he maintains that then I rekon he will win the hearts of his old fans and the top gear fans.
It takes you back and then you realise that a E23 7-series from the 80ies was lighter than this M2. This car is very heavy, full of electric motors for everything from the mirrors to the seats and to be honest over 4,4m or 174.6 in length isn't what anyone calls small or compact. A Fiat 500 is small, length 3,5m or 139.6 inches. A BMW E46 M3 CSL had 1,385 kg, this M2 has ~1550kg.

smh over 70% of the actual brake force is applied to the front wheels, a classic weight distribution for fwd/front engined cars is over 65% at the front. When you brake the mass of your vehicle including the brake momentum is tranferred to the front wheels, lifting the back axle up. Attention to detail
The ONLY thing good about top gear now is chris harris. Keep on the good work :)
DrOsteck yep
DrOsteck Matt LeBlanc I'd say.
+ Rory Reid
Chris seems way more relaxed now with TG so I think season 23 will be great
Chris Harris indeed
Can we just agree that the M2 is absolutely beautiful especially in that blue
Fo Sho
Yes, 380 hp and 369 lb-ft may seem weak in todays abundance of 500hp cars, but I really miss that car
One is a 50:50 balanced, rear wheel drive, manual optioned enthusiast machine. The other is an expensive golf.
You can decribe by that pretty much every BMW with straight-six engine, like mine 330Ci.
A vw with lipstick as I always say.

The best car reviewer out there by far.
One of the videos that convinced me to get a manual OG M2😍

A BMW E46 M3 CSL had 1,385 kg, this M2 has ~1550kg.
With nowadays EU-regulations building a sportscar with 4 seats weighting under 1400 kg would probably cost a million.
Chris Harris brightens the future of Top Gear for me! Thanks Chris!
Fun fact: the green M3 in the video was actually CHRIS'S M3 when he had, but he sold it shamefully
