I watched both your videos related to the Player HSH and appreciate your detailed review. I’m a brand new 71 year old guitar beginner and decided to purchase the same model. However, I was wondering if you could share where you purchased the Goto Bridge upgrade and if it has a specific model or serial number. I plan on doing the same up grade but want to make sure I purchase the correct items. Thanks. Bruce

Thank you for your kind words. The Gotoh saddles are the S11C solid brass saddles. If you google this, they will appear all over the internet. Keep ROCKING! 🤘🎸🎸🤘

I own 3 Player Plus Top Stratocaster HSS’s and I couldn’t be happier!
    They are gorgeous!
The quality of MIM Fenders has greatly improved over the years almost rivaling American made guitars.
I also own 3 other MIM Strats and they are great too!
I am no longer a MIM snob!

Hi rich655, thank you for your comment. I was once a Les Paul player, and would fork out thousands upon thousands for them. And while some were absolute beasts, in terms of tone and playability, others fell well short of the premium paid. And with a young family, it was financially unsustainable. So when I first picked this beauty up, it played excellent for the price. So I thought, "Why not!" And never looked back. I recently purchased an Olympic White MIM Stratocaster and planning to do some modifications on that too. Stay tuned! I'll be posting some videos on that. Keep ROCKING!

Been playing Fender Stratocasters for years.
Never, had a problem with the bridge saddles?

Decent review. But I am considering buying one of these buttercream hah Fenders. Therefore I am looking for information about the guitar itself, unmodified. Stock Fender guitars are appreciated by many players and we like to do the modifications that we ourselves prefer, considering the variety and quality of available hardware.
So, I am interested in any aspects of this guitar that set it apart from other Stratocaster. Because I am aware that this Player hsh strat is reputed to be a great guitar, compared to previous standard versions of this guitar.
What then, sets it apart from other versions that you might be familiar with? What makes this Player iteration better? You focus on the vintage bent steel saddles to great length but Fender claims that these are actually better. Block style saddles are nice but I'm specifically interested in this Player guitar, not suggested modifications.
I want to know how this guitar is the way it already is. Is it super cool? What can you do with it? I want to hear you make the guitar sing. I want to hear what you like about this guitar after you have played it and made it your own.
Actually, it is way nicer than a Squire by many standards, although the nice Squires are very nice indeed. But the Fender has a much higher coefficient of cool and it has more class, so to speak. They look the same, identical, but they are more like apples and oranges than not. For instance, the whole trem bridge on your Player strat in its stock form from the factory is a major upgrade over the trem Bridge unit found on a Squier strat. The bridge saddles alone are insignificant because the whole bridge is an upgrade when you buy a Fender.
Getting your 1st real Fender is a memorable day and is worth the extra cost and the delayed gratification increases your appreciation in many cases. Working for something and waiting to save up enough money for it.

Hi there, I personally prefer the hsh, as the neck humbucker gives more punch.

I think I’ll do the same thing! Rather not dump too much money In it! Your link to the saddles is no longer good! I think your talking about the Gotoh S11 set they have a diagram showing the width of the saddle to be 10.5. $45 cool Thanks! You know your stuff it’s clear you’ve done your homework! I bought the new Fender Player Hss Ebony black gloss with black headstock gold Logo limited Edition! Should be here soon!

Yes, the saddles are 10.5mm wide. You can buy the stainless steel or brass saddles coated in chrome. I bought the former to get a brighter tone. Enjoy your new Stratocaster. 🎸🤘🎸🤘

Great video! I purchased a Player series HSS strat in plus top aged cherry earlier this year and love it. I installed locking tuners and had a Graphtec nut and string tree installed. I like the idea of the larger Jim Dunlop strap locks, but there are many different model numbers to choose from. Which model number strap locks did you use?

      Hi there,
Thank you so much for your kind words. Sounds like you've got an awesome guitar. I used the standard series, PSLS031N. Here is a link. They are great! Hey Christos definitely piqued my interest in a Player series - must go check one out. The bridge saddles - what size? 10.3 or 11.5?

Hi Craig. Great question. The width dimensions on the Gotoh's are 10.5mm, according to the specs. Here is the link to ebay where I bought the same set. Definitely recommend them. Please note, these are brass saddles plated in chrome. If you want a brighter sound, you can also buy stainless steel saddles. Just depends on your preference. I have no complaints with these though. Excellent Japanese built quality. Rock On! www.ebay.com.au/itm/265099405345?hash=item3db927e821:g:p2IAAOSwK6Vevmu6&frcectupt=true

I like it when the guy has played his way into the new guitar and has come out of it with something to talk about from an experienced perspective. Otherwise I believe the dude just got a sellers guitar mailed to him for the narrow purpose of reviewing the guitar without actually owning it and learning about it from playing it for a significant amount of time. So how can a review like this actually be very useful in any meaningful way? I see the guitar in the video but I'm not learning anything about it other than theoretical observations about bridge saddles, rolled edges, etc.

    • @christosfragias592

Hi There, I found the bridge to be of very good quality, and was happy to keep it. Adding the Gotoh bridge saddles, made tuning and intonation so much more accurate. I also noticed an improvement in tone. Keep ROCKING 🤘 🎸

Learning to 'train' your bridge will result in you being possibly a lot happier with your trem bridge. Train the trem before playing and you can pull up on the bar all the way, to bring the strings very closely back into tune after liberal whammying.

Budget guitars that you'll eventually want to get away from unfortunately.
