Hi Everyone,
It's Christos here. AKA, The Frag!
And today, I pay homage to the legendary, Rod Stewart.
I have uploaded a video on TH-cam playing along to the same track. However, back then, I was using a Fender Jazz bass. This time, I'm using my trusty Fender Made in Japan Hybrid II Precision Bass.
I love playing along to Maggie May, and I recall the first time I heard this classic track. It really captivated me. The composition, arrangement, melody, and the use of the mandolin to close out the song, all combined to make it a classic track. And the fact that it's recorded and played back in my favourite key, D major, is the icing on the cake.
In this video, like my other videos, I apply my own style. Including, walking the notes (i.e., strumming notes between the bass drum beats), chords, and fast runs etc. And that's my message here. Don't be limited by someone else's creativity. And that someone else's creativity includes your favourite musicians. If anything, be UNLIMITED BY YOUR CREATIVITY. And your unlimited creativity applies to all the facets of your existence, and not just music.
Wherever you are, keep safe, stay positive, and most of all, KEEP ROCKING!

too much talk. no demo or guitar /sound demo... disappointing ... since you look like you are about to play... throughout the entire video. . Demo what you talk about.. just a tip. HSH pro 2. is on the way in the mail. so the topic is very relevant. examples tell me more in 10 seconds than anyone talking for 30 minutes. ideally 3 -5minutes talking and 6 to ten minute sound demo. but cool guitar. ;)

@@christosfragias592 I had some training in media, filming, photos, etc. camera on pod.. ... cut in close up of strings, the neck, and the controls that you are using. (amp controls and guitar). for a few bucks .. people online will edit and cut your video to professional level. difference is mind-blowing . like Jimi Hendrix vs my neighbours cat.. lol . 🎸🔕🎸🎸🎸

Thanks for the review. I got a black one with maple neck and I love it. I came here because I wanted to know if the pickups were defective, thanks for explaining that they aren't. I also had no idea what hybrid meant so it's good to have that answered too. Note mine came with the soft case like yours but also had two allen keys, one for the truss rod and one for the bridge saddles. So I presume people in imperial countries would get them and would be wise to hold onto them for the reasons you've said.
Hi Mark, Thank you for sharing your experiences. I recently purchased another Hybrid II in the same finish. Albeit, in the Jazz Bass, and loving it. I have recently posted two videos on my review of my newly acquired Hybrid II Jazz Bass in black with the maple fretboard. The first review video I posted was of the instrument stock, as it came from the Fender Japan factory. The second video was reviewing the same bass after I made modifications to it. Thank you for the very useful information! It seems that ObsidianWire is available in Japan , so I will buy it next time. I will use soldering for the main instrument as I will be replacing capacitors, etc., but I will introduce ObsidianWire to the instrument for modification and use it for testing pickups. This will save me from the smoke that comes out every time I test the pickups. Thanks for sharing your valuable information!

Great update. I have found the pickups from the Hybrid II Jazz to be underwhelming, but the instrument itself to be one of the best around (American included). On a side note----- if you still have the original Hybrid II pickups from your Precision Bass----I'd be interested in purchasing them. All the best.
@Kyle-fv2dy . Thanks, Kyle. And you're 💯 per cent spot on. This bass easily stacks up against the Fender USA 🇺🇸 basses any day. As for the pickups, yes, I'm glad to sell them at the right price. What's the best way we can contact each other?

im a big fender japan fan,but why did they change the logo on the hybrids to the silver fender logo.the older hybrids have the spaghetti gold logo,which to me is nicer
@elbib2446 . Fair enough. I like the spaghetti 🍝 logo as well. But I also like the current logo. Maybe in the Hybrid III, Fender may revert back to the spaghetti 🍝 🤔 logo. Keep ROCKING! 🤘🎸🎸🤘
Love all your in in-depth reviews my man! Keep it up, I trust your opinion more than large music stores and bigger TH-cam bass channels because I know you are genuine. Quick question, I know you have had a lot of Jazz basses, what is your favourite? Mexican, US or Japanese? I had disappointing QC issues with both US and Mexican Fenders in the recent past, are Japanese worth the money?
@Ryzanu . Thank you for your kind words. Since buying made in Japan Fenders, I have never looked back. They're half the price and twice the value of made in the USA Fenders. And only slightly more expensive than the made in Mexico line. So you can't go wrong. The Hybrid II basses are the pick for me. Better electronics than the Japanese Traditional series, but not as expensive as the Japanese Heritage series.
I have been playing fender basses over 40 yrs and have several made in japan fenders that I love
21 Frets.. YAY!! Fender American, Take NOTE!!! I've a "FAT DOG" Special.. (Those that live i Berkeley, CA, Know what I Mean..)

hi bro ...nice video!!! i had 2 same guitars in white..... the frist after 1,5 years the neck becames concave.....also the nut and the bridge sounds like sitar or the nut was horrible.... then they replace me the Guitar to a new one.... The nut and the bridge sounds horrible.....sitar effect again......i dont know where the problem comes....its seems i must replace the bridge and bring it to a guitar tech for some nut work...... Dame it this makes me feel sad....how this can be happend on this instruments???
