November is going to be brutal on my purse. I have so much pre-ordered! My Arrow Elvira showed up today. I also have pro-ordered Terminator, Blazing Saddles, North by North West, The ZAZ collection, Escape from New York, Born on the 4th of July, Seven Samurai, Star Trek: TMP, Planes Trains and Automobiles, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and the Dark Crystal boxset. Though on that last one I might switch and get the Walmart exclusive steelbook instead. The crystal shard is cool, but I love a good steelbook, and saving $50 with all the other stuff I'm buying this month is starting to appeal to me.
Blazing Saddles, i gotta see that review, i hope to pick that up. Another Western Comedy we need is "Maverick " 1994 with M Gibson. Yeah why we not got more Mel Gibson films like L Weapon series and "Apocolypto"
Yeah. Lots a great stuff coming to 4k. Not sure how much of those i need to upgrade from thr bluray yet though. White Christmas for instance already looks great for me. Bug is the most exciting as it has yet to been put out.
Happy Halloween, Ken! November is going to be a great month for all us physical media lovers. I have several coming pre-ordered. I think WHITE CHRISTMAS is one of the last holdouts to come to 4K format Christmas movies.
Hey Ken 👋 A simple Plan on 4k yes, Terminator 4k Steelbook already pre-ordered from Gruv. I pre-ordered Trap on 4k and that arrives on Tuesday of next week, Godzilla Minus One 4k Steelbook 👌
The Invasion (Nicole Kidman) is an adaption of Invasion of the Body Snatchers (with a different take than previous adaptions). While not as good as the 70s version it's worth a watch although some people maybe a bit turned off by the subversion of expectation style "twist" ending.
I vaguely remember this movie. Isn't this with the end where the invaders got hunted down worldwide, and then every nation restarts their wars right away, because hate is eternal?
@@eldritchmorgasm4018 Yep, they repelled the invasion but by not accepting the hive mind assimilation humans are back to their war-like destructive nature.
@@eldritchmorgasm4018 Yep, the invasion was thwarted but by doing so humankind returned to their destructive path towards war & perhaps eventual extinction. Had they accepted the hive mind assimilation world peace could have been achieved.
Putting out that Wizard of Oz 4k box set here in America and charging like $10-$12 more than the UK price is absolutely insane. It’s not gonna sell at all here in the states, and they’ll assume Americans don’t want boxsets. Idiots.
Hmm, well I ordered that today, I also ordered White Christmas, Deadpool vs Wolverine steelbook, house of the dragon season 2 steelbook, Star Trek steel-book, and blazing saddle’s,
@midlevelmedia I hear ya. I don't take the chance anymore, man. A 4K disc is a 4K disc no matter where it comes from, ya know? I went with the UK Icon set. Looks pretty killer in my opinion.
The big one for me is Blazing Saddles. I have pre-ordered a copy from Amazon in the U.S. (that doesn't have the bilingual cover art that we get in Canada 🙂). The other big one for me is the BFI's 4K of Seven Samurai, which includes HDR (unlike the Criterion release). I'm confident it will be slightly better than the Criterion version and I much prefer the BFI's cover art and packaging. Plus, I already own the Criterion Blu-ray with all the extras.
Happy Halloween. And stay safe. And check your candy. In the works of Steven. From Trick r Treat. And stay away from spooky demon kids that ask for a pumpkin.
Ken, please watch the 2022 Speak No Evil PRIOR to seeing McEvoy's remake. The 2022 original is somewhat dark, but the 2024 remake redeems it with a plot twist.
It's incredible how much quality titles are coming out now that streaming is (finally) going down the drain! November is a fairly stacked month. The Blair Witch one looks nice, but I ordered the Imprint version from Australia instead. It has equally nice box art and far superior special features. And it's out on almost the same day, but not too many people are talking about it. North By Northwest looks like a good one, but it doesn't have the "Cary Grant - A Class Apart" documentary found on previous releases. Similarly, The Wizard of Oz is MUCH cheaper in Britain (that's where I bought mine) but it also has most of the legacy extras missing. Got to get Shout Factory's Labyrinth, though!

my Terminator steelbook pre order.....is giving me anxiety. I hope I don't get a Waxy looking plastic Terminator Doll face figure 😂. Aliens or Abysse look.....the Atmos and dts 5.1 was very average. Cameron should spend more time on beefing up the audio and less waxing and scrubbing.
The Invasion is absolute doggy doo. It's a take on Body Snatchers that was destroyed by the studios. Originally, it was done by Oliver Hirschbiegel (Downfall), who had a dark vision, and the studios butchered it and completely ripped it apart in post. What we were left with was an extremely bland, safe, and lifeless piece of Hollywood trash that bears no resemblance to the original cut.
Just quickly checked Terminator. Better looking than Aliens, Abyss and much better than True Lies. They have perfected restoration process and it looks good, slick, but with grain and detail intact
The only title worth picking up for me is Hush on 4k...... as for the blair witch project, why anyone would pay 50 bucks for a 4k when the movie was shot on 16mm film and Hi8 tape. Its not going to look better then the blu ray. Ken, a great month would be the dead alive 4k release, dead presidents on 4k death sentence 2007 on 4k or apacolypto on 4k.
Forgot to put out there that Imprint is is doing the 40th anniversary of The NeverEnding Story on 4K & I'm excited to get this. I order this from diabolikDVD with a $5 credit so only paid $188.68. Can wait to check out the German cut of this as I never seen that cut before along with the US cut on 4K for the first time as I did grow up watching this as a kid
@@midlevelmedia yeah I understand from Australia it takes almost about a month because that's how long it took to get my Super Mario Bros 4K 1UP from Umbrella
Ken! You forgot about The Neverending Story 4k. Maybe the only reason is because it's being released at the end of November and realistically we won't be getting it until December.
More than willing to wait for the reviews on Terminator 4K before I spend any money on it. If that means the steelbook is not an option; well I don't like paying extra for bling anyway.
Umbrella Entertainment in Australia might be releasing the original trilogy on 4K UHD in 2025 email I received states "we do have the 3 TMNT movies from the 90s on our radar, keep an eye on our socials for more info" they have already released the trilogy on bluray before.
