hoyoverse single handedly just got so many non-chinese teens/young adults into chinese opera with yunjin’s existence, i am one of them, this is so good
same though i might have some asian ancestry (most likely Mongolian though) it's really good. though i also do love songs that are in a more operah style in general (a good example would be certain songs from the band Nightwish or Xandria specifically songs like a Theater of dimensions or the greatest show on earth they are long songs that take a lot of inspiration from operah )
And Chinese kids too! Art needs to be reinvented with love in order to thrive and I'm glad Hoyoverse was able to do this in a way young people around the world can understand!
Chinese opera has a reputation of being something your grandparents listen to. I love that more people my age are being more interested in it since it's slowly becoming a dying art form
I showed yunjin’s opera to my great grandpa the other day and he seemed to rlly enjoy it! I told him that this game is slowly bringing back this dying arts because a lot of young ppl are interested from it and he seems quite happy^^
I’m not sure if things like this will ever make a proper comeback, but we might as well try and make them last as long as possible, hopefully for many years :)
@@yukii5633 this doesn’t rlly have anything to do with the og comment bro 😭 even if mhy wasnt a chinese company it’d still bring attention to chinese opera

You have to understand, she’s singing at that volume….UNAMPLIFIED. Or at least that would be traditional practice. These singers train for decades to be able to produce that magnitude of sound. “Singing for the back rows” as they say.
@@siionach well, I didn’t. I thought she might have been wearing a microphone colored so it wouldn’t stick out. Just cause you know something doesn’t mean everyone else does
So happy that mihoyo decided to add yunjin, I would’ve never found this genre if it weren’t for them. It’s so beautiful and i genuinely enjoy it, the costumes, the singing, the makeup, the dancing, and I can list so many more.
And she put her own interpretation into this too! The first being her using a lore accurate sword instead of the original spear. The second being her making the sad part where Shenhe finds an empty village much more muted only to then make the announcement of the "epilogue" much more triumphant than the original! I used to wonder why old people can watch the "same" plays over and over again, but now I'm beginning to understand.
I'm so happy people are becoming more interested in my culture 😁 For once everyone isn't mocking and turning Chinese songs into a meme for 'sounding funny'
Honestly its a miracle how just one character can cause so many youths to be interested in chinese opera all the sudden Even me, a chinese who never really had any interest in chinese traditions before yunjin’s release, finding myself enjoying chinese opera and voluntarily listen to it
I’ve always gotten chills while listening to Yun Jin sing and now I have EVEN MORE listening to a full performance. I’m so happy Hoyo added Yun Jin into the game🙏
Oh my god this was sooo beautiful!! I really wish to see Chinese opera live some day, but i wouldn't understand anything sadly. Internet is truly a great place, I can watch and appreciate such beautiful art forms and actually be able to understand it.
I love that the developers brought in a real Chinese opera singer to voice record for the song. I knew very little about Chinese Opera because of this song I'm starting to listen to more music for the genre
I LOVE the way chinese opera singers/dancers dress during performance It reminds me alot of those beautiful birds that you can find in rainforests and such :D
This performance makes me so emotional I swear I cry everytime I listen to it. It's so beautiful visually and the performance from everyone is excellent! I am so glad this genre was introduced to me.💖
This is quite different compared to what we have in the US, but it is so beautiful nonetheless. Kudos to all the Chinese opera singers out there. They are really talented at what they do!

The lyric is quite deep, even for a normal Chinese, tons of allusions, almost each one of words comes from a story.
