All those who thought the singing was "cringe" or "bad" just aren't used to hearing the language. Of course its going to sound off because it's not like any of the western languages. If you appreciate the emotion and effort that was clearly put by the VA, then you'll come to enjoy it for what is is, what it represents, and overall how well it sounds when matched to the specific music it's meant to be heard with. Compared even to actual pekking opera, it still sounds magnificent

Not gonna lie, first impressions of Yun Jin singing sounds very "screechy" and loud in the 2.4 stream and I wondered what that was all about. The following day I learned that Yun Jin was apparently controversial in Twitter (though let's be honest, what isn't?) and I learned it was because of the singing, so I went and delved a bit deeper and searched for Chinese Opera in TH-cam (and stumbled on Yang Yang's performance of all people). I mean, it's still screechy, yes, but I really appreciate that mihoyo remained authentic with Yun Jin. The detail in her animations is just outstanding and she's very pleasant to just throw normal attacks just to see her hand movements when putting her spear away.
And, first impressions be damned, her performance on The Damsel of Devastation just floored me. I revisit the cutscene on TH-cam from time to time because it stands strong on its own right.
Here's hoping that mihoyo does their homework in bringing worldwide cultures (especially native south american culture once Natlan comes) to the forefront in Genshin Impact. Though I'm afraid Yun Jin set the bar really high and they might not be able to replicate this level of attention to detail worthy to make news headlines.

There's actually a huge amount of cultural value within Genshin Impact, it's surprising just how much passion and care is put into everything, Mondstadt feels German, Liyue feels Chinese, Inazuma feels Japanese, they put a lot of care into bringing out those cultural aspects of these regions, even down to the very ground you walk on, while still feeling like a living, breathing world that has its own diverse cultures and people. Even if the plot is a little predictable, it's well written, but the truest intrigue is the world itself, so much writing went into the world, its history and cultures, how each person can be so incredibly different. Hands down I admit that I think of Genshin as a truly beautiful game, you need not pay a single dime to enjoy the richness of it all. I'm really happy with the game thusfar and it only ever continues to make me feel happy, the latern rite was absolutely beautiful this year, and yes, I shed a tear or two during it. This world MiHoYo has made is by far one of my favourites, and with all the things I am, from artist of book and brush, to the gamer, I can say that this game is stunningly beautiful in my eyes, I love it. This blending of cultures which MiHoYo have made, this world which breathes, Teyvat is a place I could call home in my heart. I can't wait to see the cliffs of Mondstadt again, those tall limestone mountains and waterfalls of Liyue, and the gorgeous sakura trees of Inazuma. MiHoYo has really outdone themselves.

I know it'll be different depending on their actual Chinese characters, but that paired with memorizing bits of the 5 tonal sounds(?) that are used (Like in Liyue, Keqing and Shenhe having a more "euh" sound in them) to pronounce the words within their language felt so fun and informational!

The opera performance really mesmerized me. Im half chinese and up until now i’d never heard of an opera like this, it really makes me interested in the culture. Recently ive been watching and appreciating some chinese operas online, I would honestly LOVE to watch one in real life. I could feel the emotion the VA put into Yunjin’s opera, I was so stunned. I literally just sat there and froze looking at my screen, it was so beautiful. Very very very very beautiful, I cant describe how much I love it. Sometimes even on the way to school I listen to Yunjin’s opera. Im not sure if im over exaggerating but I felt like as if I could cry. I actually had been waiting for Yunjin since maybe Xiao’s first banner last year when she’d been leaked. I absolutely loved her and was immediately attracted to her design, to me she was so pretty. Watching her opera and doing her hangout event has made me love her even more as a character. To me this story quest was the best, it was very refreshing.
