This video is very well produced and informative. However there are a few flaws in it that could mislead those seeking information to make an informed purchase. First of all, the products showcased by Hammock Gear and Enlightened Equipment are QUILTS, not sleeping bags. In my opinion, quilts are the better option but one would be wise to do some research and know the difference before buying and wondering “where the rest of it is” when they unbox it. Also, the two featured quilts were presented with shots that showed hammocks with underquilts. Be advised that the top quilt and underquilt are two completely separate pieces of equipment. While they probably could be interchanged with one another in an emergency and with some ingenuity, they each serve a specific purpose. Research and know the difference before you buy. Other than that it’s an informative video. I always thought I’d be a “tent and sleeping bag “ guy. Then I got to be 55 years old and had to get up off the ground five times a night to go find the friendly tree. I spent more time trying to get back into a mummy bag and get situated than I did sleeping. That’s when I saved up my money and switched to a hammock and quilts. I hope my comments help you in your research. Camp on !!!
Good try Outdoor Zone. You gave me some brand and model names to research on my own and that is useful, so thanks. But I think you researched a topic you are not expert in, and these are not actual reviews. I suspect you have never used any of these. The quilts you "reviewed"are not sleeping bags, nor are the under hammocks you showed in the video. Backpackers want to know temperature ratings as well as weight, and if the bag is roomy. Watch some reviews by Dan Becker to see a good review by someone who has used the products.
