Oh my god.... I've only been playing the intro and rhythm sections all these years simply because I couldn't see Clapton's solo finger work in the video.. LOVE this song, it's my best piece.... I'm almost in tears watching you break this down for us.. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!
I struggled so hard watching this as it was hard to see what you were doing so 0.5x speed did it for me. You are so very accurate at what you do but the tutorial was hard. Worth it tho ✊
Y’all saying it’s his fingers no shit Sherlock. But still a guitar can sound really good regardless that’s the point he’s trying to make by the comment. Fuckin commander obvious
Thanks to you, I managed to play many songs that I didn't believe possible. Clear, simple and clean... When you play, difficult things look like easy.. Really thank you!
I don't quite understand why there are people dislike this video??? THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST GUITAR TUTORIAL ON TH-cam. What's the problem with those haters?
Man, you’re killing it ! Every time I tune in I’m shocked by your accuracy of how it’s “actually” played. I don’t know how you are able to channel each artist but keep it up. I went down to the crossroads last spring. Couldn’t find the devil to make a deal with. Spending time on your tutorials is probably a better trade anyway. Stay healthy Brother. Cheers.
Hmmm such a great lesson, Ive watched this probably 20 times already, I'm very appreciative of this instruction lesson. Thank You . I've slowed the playback speed right down for the fingeri positions and at speed for the timing this has help a lot . Best on the tube !!!!
Coolest thing is he has little timing/separation tricks that REALLY make the clever phrasings pop out. Something this intricate can quickly go off the rails into a jumble in lesser hands (ie. mine, lol). Thanks for this. Have learned so much.
Am I ever glad I found your channel and videos! Love Clapton! I’ve got the first solo worked out but that second one is kicking my butt. Great playing!!!
Hey man, I've been watching your videos for a while and they've helped so much in making me a better player. Just wanted to thank you. Also I was wondering if you could make a tutorial on how to play The Long and Winding Road by The Beatles. Thanks again!
Man I really love your stuff. Easily the best tutorial channel on TH-cam. There are no good videos for “copperhead road”. I’d like to see you play that.
Leave it to Clapton to always be exactly in the pocket. Your channel is amazing you have excelled my playing over the years. You pick up on feel so well
Just wanted to say, you're the best. You're very much appreciated for your ease and precision in your tutorials. I wanted to suggest something a little different. Would you ever consider doing a tutorial breaking down the CAGED system, combining all the chord shapes, arpeggios and scales within each position for better melodic playing? I've just recently been breaking this down and now understanding it's importance in playing fluently up and down the fret board. I just wish I would have learned this decades ago. We may not play all the full chord shapes in each position but having them imprinted in our minds and the triads and scales within them, I believe is most important in understanding the fret board. I see everything in a new light, can't wait to break down these Clapton solos. Thanks again.
Basically play the mixolydian mode in C, which is a mode of the F major scale, which is the same exact notes as this D minor scale. Understanding modes is what has made my guitar playing what it is. Thank God for Jerry Garcia!!!
Great lessons, right to the point, I think it's good that you don't name every note, it would take forever, this great for more experienced players to learn licks .👍
Hey Andy! Thanks for all these awesome lessons. What kind of strings & gauges are you using here? Or I guess, what strings and gauges do you specifically like to use on a Taylor? And what do you use for electric? Can you share how you got your tone for this song? (Amp/mic settings)? Thanks again for everything! Huge supporter of your channel and learn so much from you every lesson. Can't thank you enough.
Dude.......you are by far the best...........i've learned so much from watching u and ur vids.........do u take requests? I hope so........how bout Tesla Love Song......would really like to see ur take on it......u have a great way of making things easy to understand........keep on rockn in the free world....
"Clapton is the master of phrasing." As someone who's studied Clapton's' phrasing since Cream, truer words were never spoken!

The best tutorial channel ever. You even point out the scale positions behind each part of the solo. This is a guitar teacher, folks.
I struggled so hard watching this as it was hard to see what you were doing so 0.5x speed did it for me. You are so very accurate at what you do but the tutorial was hard. Worth it tho ✊
Dude that guitar sounds absolutely stunning.
Right but I think he would make many guitars sound stunning
nomoreidea was just about to comment the same thing. Tone is in the touch
It’s how he plays it not the guitar
Those fingers make that guitar sound sweet.🤣
Y’all saying it’s his fingers no shit Sherlock. But still a guitar can sound really good regardless that’s the point he’s trying to make by the comment. Fuckin commander obvious
Finally someone who actually got it note perfect. Was tired of tutorials playing their own versions. Good job mate.

probably beginners who need more instruction and an easier song 🤷🏼♀️ lol
Because not everyone knows pentatonic and diatonic.
Jealousy, maybe, along with some possible bot action, not sure
Man, you’re killing it !

Andy, you are a Master Guitar Player and Teacher. I love this lesson, so much fun to play. Great Job!!!
I learned so much about playing guitar from one song, one video. Thank you...
The cleanest player on TH-cam. Love your videos
Great and faithful version. A 12/8 backing track, will really help anyone struggling with timing
I really really like how you just show where and how to play and not beat holes in our heads with fret numbers and string names. Nice job!!!

Absolutely amazing. Best instructional tutorial in my opinion. Love the channel.

Brilliant. Thoroughly enjoying learning this. Thanks.
Great lesson from the pair of floating hands!
Road to 1M subs! Love everything about this channel, a huge thank you to you sir!
The sound is amazing and you made it look so easy and nice to watch
Basically play the mixolydian mode in C, which is a mode of the F major scale, which is the same exact notes as this D minor scale. Understanding modes is what has made my guitar playing what it is. Thank God for Jerry Garcia!!!
That's way overcomplicating things. It's in D minor using mostly D minor pentatonic. Cheers, Andy.
I have to slow this down to about 75% to pick up all the notes. As a bonus I get a laugh because you sound drunk. Thanks for the video.
Another top-notch lesson … thanks Andy.
