So last weekend my 2 uncles, my grandpa, and myself were throwing a few back having a family jam session, when my Uncle asks me "Can you play Layla?" said Nah but give me your laptop.. Two minutes later I had you pulled up on the big screen. 4 hours later and half a buzz on, we're all slamming this solo. Pap asks "Who is this guy?" said If you dont already know, he's Claptons nephew. "Oh, makes sense..." I laughed like hell! Coming from 40+ years of guitar, for him to say that... YOU THE MAN MARTY!!!
Ive been playing guitar for 16 years and this is one of my favorite songs. Ive followed your lessons for a long time and compared to sheet music your videos are so much easier to follow and learn from. And your so meticulous about how you play. Everytime i look up a song i always search your name man. Thanks for all your videos. Keep it up
PLZZZ REPLYYYYY NOWWWW :D marty you know ..i wanna thank you .. i've learned all guitar from you.... holding it to gigging sizzling solos... never got a chance to thank you in person.. hope You will read this... your are the first and best teacher i've got...
Marty, just want to say thanks for all the videos. I've been a man cave player on and off for 50 years. Now that I'm retired and since I've found your videos I've been able to bring my playing up a notch. Thanks Frank in CT
this was one of my first guitar solos i learned... i remember listening during the night at my headphones trying to take out every single note... at that time i didn't afforded a computer... i was so happy when i did! Great lesson Marty! Keep it up!
First time watching: Nah, a bit to hard but i watch it again. Second time watching: Yeah, now a can play it, but just a bit slower. Now im gonna practice this part until i get it perfectly and then take on 2 pt THANK YOU MARTY! :)
very nice Marty. Learning songs like this help me to understand how the different scales and keys are used instead of just monotonously playing them over and over. You have a gift my friend and it is greatly appreciated that you share it the way you do. Keep on keepin on
Marty, I can't explain how amazing of a teacher you are! I literally didn't even know how to hold the guitar correctly until I started watching your videos, and now a year later I can play right along with you perfectly to this solo plus many others (Zepplin). What can I say, you are an amazing teacher and I thank you so much to give out free videos like this with your expertise when you could easily just sell them all!!....Thanks broseph!
I came upon this lesson 1 year ago and knew i was going to learn this if it was the last thing i did. and i finally can! thanks a bunch marty!! best teacher alive!
Marty your lessons are the best. I like that you play the song first then talk vs talking for 4 minutes then playing - like every other lesson on youtube. Thats buddy!!
I'd like to thank you Marty. I didn't really know how to play the guitar or know and cords. now I can play multiple songs. I continue to learn songs from you. the talent you have is on another level. continue to make more videos.
Its one thing to be able to play....but to be able to teach someone how to play.....marty has a natural gift for teaching and is a brilliant player....he has excellent tone and dynamics the way his fingers make them notes ring out ....im just practising over n over to get each note variation down to a t
