Allow me to introduce myself. When I was 5 years old, I danced ballet for a year. I then quit because I moved to different country. I then figure skated for about 6 months, maybe a little more. Later on I swam competitively, eventually ended up dancing hip-hop at my school and at a local studio for nearly 2 years! I am currently 13 and I will be turning 14 this month, on the 18th! I recently joined a professional ballet school in the vicinity, I am really enjoying my lessons (3 times a week, 1 hour and 30 minutes). At the moment, I am in a group with 10 year olds however, my teacher had told me that she will put me into a group that's around my age (the girls there are already en pointe). Tomorrow I will be having my 6th lesson, and I'm really excited. I do a deep stretch daily, that lasts nearly 2 hours. On the contrary, I do some pilates to further aid me. I try my best at class every time, I try to remember all of my corrections, I also rehearse what I did at class at home. I'm already begging to see changes, my flexibility has improved immensely, my strength has increased, my coordination and my overall performance. I feel stronger than before, I also see my self losing weight in specific locations. I am really trying to stay dedicated to ballet, and I have begun taking it much more seriously. I would appreciate any kind of advice, thank you for reading this lengthy comment of mine. I wish you all a good day, or night (I apologize if my English isn't too good, it isn't my mother language. I also wrote this in a hurry).
This is all wonderful, congratulations! It’s clear from how hard you work that you really love ballet! It has been a year since you commented this, if you don’t mind me asking how has your ballet journey been going?
Hiii grace! I loved your video and I absolutely did see a lot of progress! Your an amazing ballerina. Can I ask you for some advice. On Wednesday I’m going on a ballet tryout class. I’m 15 and haven’t done ballet in a long time so I’m basically a beginner. I’m really nervous🙈
Valerie K just work as hard as you can! Make sure you focus as well. And if you have any questions about a combination or how to do something ASK THEM! You’d be much better off asking about the combination 3 times and doing it right than you would be if you didn’t know it. I find that people who start when they’re older do much better and advance quicker than younger children. Hope you have fun! And thank you😊
Thank you! My only advice is to make sure you work hard and also if you stretch one side, make sure you stretch the other too! Being uneven isn’t good and it’s been a problem for me. Same goes for strengthening😄
I started when I was 13 and I’m 18 now. I’m not that flexible either but in my opinion, flexibility isn’t entirely necessary for ballet. Back in the day people were not flexible at all and now they are so it’s really just a matter of opinion😁
@@aabb-fd3lv at first I started off in the lowest level with kids much younger than me BUT I have worked very hard and I am now in the highest level at the studio. I’m now in classes with much older kids😉
@@gracekendall39 are you shy at first or you were born with much confidence? because I can’t really perform with many people but I want to gain confidence while learning.
sorry for many questions and I really appreciate your response. btw your progress is very bery good and I hope you can be a pro ballerina someday. 。◕‿◕。
Heyy This was really inspiring , thank you for sharing Grace 🧡❤️ I’m currently 20 years old and danced hip hip and latin-American dances in my teenage years but could never afford to attend a dance school. Most of the times I would give myself lessons and practice in the reflection of my mother’s shower. Had to give up dancing at 18 due to anxiety and depression and now I want to get back on my feet (literally ) so do you think it’s too late for me to start with ballet/ contemporary ? I have the passion but I don’t really have any solid foundations when it comes to the basics. Flexibility is not my main strength but i think if I practice i will Improve fast enough The dreams of becoming a professional dancer might be for another life, but right now I would like to know that I did what I could in this life to become the best version of myself Would like to hear your professional opinion on this one 🍂🧡
Hi, I’m only 15 and I’ve always wanted to learn ballet but I live in the province so we don’t have access to Ballet Classes because they are not available in our area, is it possible to learn just basic ballet by watching TH-cam videos? I know it sounds dumb but I just want to know :((
Hi! You can definitely learn the basics on TH-cam. I learned how to do some things by watching videos outside of class. I say class is definitely beneficial but you can for sure learn from videos😊🩰

Your turnout improved a lot! That’s amazing! How did you achieve it? Does stretch help with it? Or it’s purely muscle strength?
It is def both! Stretch and don’t hurt yourself with turn out
at what age did you start ballet? I’m 14 and it’s really my dream but they told me that my bones are hard now and I can’t be flexible.....

How many classes did you take per week? That progress is amazing!!
When I was a beginner, I took 2 classes a week but when I advanced I took 4-5 and multiple classes a day at times.

Everything is great... BUT THE SHOULDERS remember to not move or lift them keep pushing them down
Yes. The video was taken back in January or February so I’ve improved since then.
How much time had you been dancing in the second clip
One year, she wrote It in caption

The first one was either 13 or 14 and the last one was 16
