Had the issue with old KE-Jetronic injectors. Decided to buy new ones and that solved the major issue. Have a lot of old ones but even after cleaning they did not perform well. Some of them just get so stuck from old varnish and bad gasoline that they just can't be saved. After all most of these injectors are 30+ years old so time just has done it's work with them.
Instead of ATF I used Marvel Mystery oil or Techron with mineral spirits when attempt to clean injectors. Great channel. I was a Star Technician 1971-1990. Then a BMW Master Tech 1990 to 2017. Retired now 👍☕
Wow, that is a lot of years working on cars. I bet you have some great stories to tell. I started as an aircraft mechanic in 1969 but I have done other things along the way other than turning wrenches. :-). You should pick up an old K-jet Mercedes to tinker on just to keep your mind sharp. LOL
Thanks for your kind video but unfortunately i have bought many times new fuel injectors (Bosch) for my car W124 M103 found that there is a problem in the injectors where they are damaged after test. I don't know why. Where i changed the fuel filter. So could you please advise??
Years ago, put new injectors on my GTI just to see if that would be better. Had no troubles with the old news (175K mi) but once I put the new ones in, man, the engine was just smooth at all rpm, felt perfect. What's amazing about those screwy spray patterns Kent is showing us is that the car will often start and run with no problem and you don't even know how bad they are until you can spray them and look at them. (In VW land, it was four plastic soda bottles and jumped fuel pump relay slots and a pull on the airlfow meter disc. 😁)
This is insightful. Have you though of testing the cheap fuel injectors sold on Amazon to see which are better? There are many different brands that sell more affordable fuel injectors. I am hesitant to purchase them because they might not be reliable. If you test them, many people would benefit from the tests.
Hi im new to your channel, i just recently bought an 83 380sl do you have any videos or tutorials about new owners or things to look out for? Id love as much info on these cars as possible.
I also have an 83 380SL that I have done a rolling restoration on. You can go to my website and learn more. Most of the kits I have developed have extensive descriptions as the the problem and the fix. Read through these and watch the videos and you will learn a lot. Here is the link. mercedessource.com/store/search?keys=380sl
I have a 1974 450SL Djet and I replaced all the injectors in her and she consumes more fuel now. Is there something I may have done wrong in replacing them? Do I have to adjust something?
You will need to do a fuel system pressure test with the correct setup. Your fuel pressure regulator could have failed or is out of adjustment. Hi fuel pressure leads to excess fuel consumption. There could be other things as well. Research D-jetronic. mercedessource.com/store/1970-1975-35-45-d-jetronic-fuel-injection-pressure-tester-wextras
You are a treasure to the classic Mercedes DIY community! Your videos are absolutely outstanding!

Very nice tickover on the 6 cyl!
Thanks, haven't heard that phrase in a while. Are you British or Australian? :-)
@@Mercedessource neither...got it from the British magazines I guess!

Yes, I cleaned the CIS injectors on my newly purchased scirocco 2, but it's probably just a good idea to replace them.
Nice kit!

I would be wasting my time and my money. Amazon has been failing me a lot lately with junk products.
How many were good out of 8 and how many miles
Nice info.
