    Addition to the Video
After reading some comments I realized that I have totally missed out on a number of tolls plazas we have Vs other countries have.
If I talk about Western countries they have way fewer toll roads in comparison to India,
almost every plain surfaced road in India is a toll road which is not the case in countries like the USA, hence, many of their commuters don't even take toll roads as their free roads are already quite decent
also, In Europe even though there are countries where you have to pay tolls. but again even European countries have far fewer toll roads than India, For example, in Switzerland the only toll their computers pay is for a couple of tunnel roads..

Very good information. But just a small correction. USA also has the automatic toll deduction mechanism where you don't need to wait in the line. But it also has gate based system in areas like airport. Those are also automatic.

The Indian taxation system is a Joke on middle class tax payers. Whether it's Income Tax or Purchasing a new car. No matter which government is in power. Everyone will talk about the poor or rich. The middle class exists only for paying Taxes in 100 different ways for both the classes.

Bro I’m living in Australia & Here, you don’t need to pay the toll for long motorways. Like Melbourne to Syney is approx 1000km stretch & there is no toll. You need to pay toll in local city only just to avoid traffic. Second, there is toll rebate schemes, if you cross the particular limit than you can apply for toll rebate at the end of year. Moreover, there is not toll barriers.

Corruption ek bohot hi important role play karta hai roads ke mamle main. Kayi baar pipeline ya cable beechane ke naam pe unko khoda jata hai. Aur ye baar baar road banane ki vajah se unginat paise ki barbadi hoti hai jo paisa kisi aur cheez ke liye istemal kiya ja sakta hai. Aur ye paisa jata to public ki jeb se hi hai to log aur ghussa hote hai kyunki ye sab charo or khule aam ho rha hai. Agar pehli baar main hi ye sheher ya gaon ke roads acchese banaye jaye to bacha hua paisa highways ke maintenance ke liye istemal ho sakta hai jisse toll kam kiya ja sakta hai.

One of the issue is the lack of transparency how these funds are used , many of the times they keep charging the toll tax even after they have made profits.
    2. You need to factor in the amount of vehicles passing beach day. Yes the amount is less than other countries but the amount or number of cars passing by is much higher.
    3. No accountability, if there's a fault no one fixes it immediately.
The crux of the problem is people do not mind paying money but it should be at par with level of services being delivered , rather than making contractors rich

I am travelling from delhi to Kolkata since 2012 i have seen many things changing and some of the things not.
First the toll tax distance is not uniform sometimes we have pay on 2 different toll booths in 80km or sometimes for 200 km
And then the prices. The price for worst road was around 120 for 40km
And for best road around 100 for 50 km
Another thing for me is why you dont penalized for overloaded trucks because of them roads got damaged.
Also we should start taking toll tax from 2 wheelers also as seen of yamuna expressway agra Lucknow expressway because of them also we get disturbed and couldn't maintain speeds
But yeah previously our travel time was more than nowadays thanks to better road qualities.
But there should be uniformity on toll distance and should be taken from all types of vehicles

Your selection of topics are becoming interesting day by day, keep up the good work buddy.
I would like to add one more point though, that is the average speed in Indian highways and the US. For a distance of around 1,500 km (Delhi to Mumbai) it takes 24 hours but on the flipside the same distance in US (Los Angeles to Portland) can be covered within 16 hours which is way less.
From my POV if I'm saving 50 percent of the time in an expressway on the route that I'm travelling, I'll not have any issue paying the current toll rates but it doesn't feel beneficial to pay tolls on normal highways which are full of local traffic, barricades, stray animals.
Hopefully the travel time will reduce drastically in about 5-10 years when most tier one, two cities will be connected through expressways.

    • @MozaffarMansoor
      @MozaffarMansoor 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@tusharaggarwal9956 yaar using your logic, nobody truly will give exactly 30% tax. Even a 7 lakh a month making fellow will only start paying 30% after 15 lakhs. He'll fall close to 30% but never exactly 30. But I digress and on a factual level you're even right but mudda ye hai ki ek normal life jeene ke liye with a family you'll need about 2 to 2.5 lakhs a month salary jiski tax new dhajji uda Deni hai. A significant chunk of this salary will be taxed at 30% and any and all bonuses over this will fall in the 30% tax bracket itself.
      Let's work with an example
You live in Mumbai and make 2 lakhs a month in a family of 4. Your rent goes to about 40k for a 2bhk, and other expenditures (electricity, food, travel, school, fuel) make up 50k a month, you've purchased a house on a loan and are paying 30k a month as installments - this will come out to about 14.5 lakhs annually that you need to exist in a decent condition. Any saving you do will only be after this amount. But all of that amount is being taxed at 30%, essentially all your savings. And then everything that you are purchasing is also being taxed at different rates. Any profit you make on your savings will also be taxed at 30%, any increment, bonus, lottery, or profit from sale of property will also be taxed further. You're right when you say that tax liability isn't 30%, but there's nuance to the idea of what is being taxed and how much. I hope you appreciate the intricacies of it

Road Tax, on the other hand, is a HUGE burden on Car owners. This can be reduced significantly if not eliminated.
The third, and MOST important aspect, is the PATHETIC Road Construction, Corruption, and Negligence. India has some of the HIGHEST Road accidents for developing nations. Here RTO is partly responsible for HUGE Corruption.
The Potholes alone, claim thousands of lives each year. Financial Audits reveal local Municipalities spend THOUSANDS PER POTHOLE, but the conditions keep deteriorating.

Bro, people are already paying many taxes. Some might disagree but this is the case. For those, who are gonna reply me, hear me first
You are already paying income tax, that is 20-30% ( if you are middle class it's mostly around 30), the goods you are gonna buy have gst included ( by the way the seller is also paying some tax depending on the sales too), petrol price which is ₹100/l (it's actual base price is only half of that), toll tax, road tax, if you selling your house (on which you already have paid your tax) you need to pay tax again etc etc etc. (Sorry comments have word limits, can't use it all)
For those who are gonna say, where the government is gonna get money from,
Government has it's own companies set up which actually do generate profits, it even has shares in the companies and many more, but even if they do need to collect, this many?
I mean we are getting facilities for that like education ( lowest education standard in government school, lack of medical colleges etc), hospitals ( covid has already shown enough- oxygen tanks), roads ( what's that? Forget local roads, I have seen dangerous potholes on a highway, a fucking highway which is supposed to have high speed vehicles on it), Security that is police (Do I need to say this?).
For those who are thinking ki more tax= more development, that is true but in a competent system. Yaha agar koi ek baar pradhan ban jaae toh uski next 2 generation ko kaam karne ki jarurat nhi padti, think about MLAs, CMs etc. So whats the point of giving more money to a govt which is a bottomless pit of greed 😂😂😂

Indians don't want to pay taxes in India but same Indian happily pays taxes in Germany and Singapore.
It's all about return of investment thing. If they are paying taxes there they are actually getting benefitted from that. But here we get almost no or very less out of the taxes we pay at each step of our lives.
Hn India mei log direct tax kam bharte h. Pr hn log India mei indirect tax bhut jyada bharte h... Even on education, healthcare, and salt.
Hn wahi salt jiske liye dandi March Tak hogya tha ki is pr se taxes hatao..aaj wo taxed h.

Till we have at least 10% of our population (like in China) in the tax bracket this is going to be the case, unfortunately - right now its about 2%. So we need to collectively think as to how we can collectively increase the income prospect of our countrymen. Be it startups, MSME, Services etc. Just govt jobs are not going to help. And blaming the govt for such huge taxes is unproductive - we all know that and the govt also knows. Our ask of lower taxes and higher quality of living when only 2% of the people is paying tax is criminal. Can we, collectively, come up with creative solutions?

    2:27 per capita income

Indian per capita income - USD 3300
India has direct + indirect taxes. Indua has 42% tax on cars.
Europe has per capita - USD 50,000
No indirect taxes. Full free education and health facility.
What Gadkari talking about paying is to private contractors. NHAI gets peanuts from toll tax. Most of it is extortion for private accounts.

I am taking a car delivery tomorrow. Here is some break-up of cost:
    Dealer price : 13L
    Showroom price: 19L
    On-road price : 22.8L
    Actual Cost of ownership: 30.5L (22.8L + 30% income tax + 4% cess)
    Total Tax: 6L(CGST+SGST+CESS) + 2.3L RTO = 8.3L
Already paid income tax: 7.7L(on on-road price)
Total Tax: 16L(Not considering GST on insurance, accessories, consumables etc.)
I still need to pay toll. Funny, isn't it?
By the way Bharat's PPP is 22, that means actual value of $1 is not 80-85 INR but 22 INR. So 2.2 INR per KM is same as 10 cents.

But except a few newly developed toll highways. Most of the toll roads are in pathetic condition. I commute regularly on NH-8 Delhi-Jaipur highway. You'll never find this highway in good condition, most of the time it is full of potholes and after rain it becomes a mess. With potholes and most of the highway submerged under water. There are illegal intersections everywhere. You can never go at full speed as someone cam emerge from any point of the road. There is constant congestion, cameras are only limited to only Gurgaon areas in the immediate vicinity of Delhi. Even the street lights are missing on most of the highway. Everytime I pay toll tax here, I curse these toll operators.
But I once had the chance of traveling on Delhi-Mumbai expressway. It is something that feels like spending toll on.

Not just ppp but also population plays a major role, for example in America if 100 cars/day drive on a certain highway and the toll tax for that highway is around 10rs/km the total tax collected would be around 1000rs, on other hand if we look at India as it is more populated than us or any other country the toll tax is 2.25rs and more than 1000 cars use that highway, so if we look at the figures developed nations earn about 1000rs a day on toll tax where as for India the money collected is more than 3x to that of those nations.
P.S numbers are just for examples/illustrations
