Good little review! Just got a 21 Tacoma TRD Sport. Came from a 16 Sierra 1500 SLT. The build and ride quality difference is absolutely incredible. The only downfall is non adjustable pedals. Enjoy your ride!
Congrats on your new purchase! It’s a great choice! I should’ve bought this model instead of the OR. I’ve own it for 4yrs and done zero off-roading. I don’t know why a lot of people including myself wasting money for something They don’t need. I guess live and learn. New Sub👍
I've got just now 15k miles on my '23 SR 2WD V6, I absolutely love this truck. Recently I had to have it repaired because an idiot coworker backed into it where it was parked and tore up the driver side bed panel, so I had to drive a rental for a couple of weeks, which was a very nice TRD Offroad. I'll tell you, that TRD had nothing that made me want to trade up my SR, it's the best vehicle I've ever owned next to my beloved '67 Ford F100. Mine is the Access cab and it's in Ice Cap White, but I love the color of yours. Those were my first two color choices, the white just happened to be the one they had.
I just picked up a 2023 2WD Access cab SR in white last Sunday, I just love love LOVE it. I got lucky, it was sitting at my dealers lot in the very back corner on a day I just went in to check my options. Ended up driving home with almost exactly what I wanted (my first choice was this gray, but white was a close second. Good enough). For a base line “work truck,” this thing has so many features I haven’t even tried half of them yet. My other truck is a 1967 F100 (which is being augmented, not replaced), so I’m used to “bare bones). This wonderful Toyota is anything but bare bones. I even like the steel wheels everyone else seems to hate. Might just put slightly fatter tires on them when the stock Firestones wear out and call it a day. Drives and handles like a dream. Super happy with it. Now I can get to work restoring the Ford.
Good video. Decent to see someone do a video on the base model SR trim. Everyone wants to to review the TRD pro and off road. Seems like it has all the things you need. I been saving up to replace my old Liberty with an SR5, but stuck waiting longer since supply is down due to Covid-19 factory shut downs.
I recently bought a 2020 TRD Sport model, and been a toyota truck owner for years all the way back to 1985 toyota truck 4x4 4 cyl (my firstToyota) I believe that truck is still running and in central america somewhere with most likely over 400000 miles on it by now. My second truck I purchased a 2001 prerunner model 2WD after 180000 I gave that one to my son while he was in High School. The 2020 Sport model I just purchased I did not to get the 4x4, because the only time I go off road is to put it in the garage. I also very recently purchased a used 2017 Corolla S model for my wife and she really beats the crap out of her car because she put 250000 on her old 2007 corolla which after experiencing a weird brake sensor problem causing sporadic due to a sensor. My son figured it out replaced it and he continues to drive that car for commuting purposes. Toyota is a car company that technologically (interior radio and such) usually is 2 years or more behind their competition, That is a good thing they try IMHO to work out the kinks in each generation before moving onto the next. No car company is perfect I admit but as a Toyota owner for as long as I can remember their quality control is the gold standard of the industry.
Nice review, I love my Tacoma so far! It's just such a nice, pretty smooth ride, love the places and adventures we can go on with it! I just picked up my 2020 Tacoma too, just started filming some video's too on my channel that I think you might enjoy! Anyways, looking forward to seeing more and chatting dude!
I just bought a 2021 SR Double cab with the 2.7. Love it. Perfect truck for my needs. I don't tow or haul anything other than fishing poles and a cooler. I get 24 mpg on the highway driving back and forth to work. Beach on the weekends. Great truck for only 29k. Cheaper than a new RAV4
@@adkforester5428 I love it. It’s everything I need from a vehicle. I’m in FL so no snow, but great traction in the heavy rains we get. Since it doesn’t make a ton of hp, it doesn’t break traction on slippery roads
Gorgeous truck. First in line for a 2022 in the same color. I think this is definitely the best value out of the entire lineup. Hopefully people don't catch on right away and bid up the price. If you're going to upgrade your suspension, wheels, and tires with higher quality parts anyway. Makes any higher trims seem like a waste. The only value I see in higher trims is that rear differential and even then, you can probably after market it. Thanks for the review.
Great truck! I currently own a 2007 Tacoma TRD Sport pre runner. It has 227,400miles. I'm waiting for the Trail Edition SR5 in Army Green color. I was going to go for the TRD Pro but I don't do any offroad. But for $50,000 it's way too much. I'm definitely going for the SR5. Awesome video!
Just got one 3 weeks this Sunday my first Toyota. Sr-sx package 4x4 V-6 access cab in white already but general grabber ATX tires on it and it’s a sweet truck! I’ve been looking at them for a few years then finally bought one! Not sure if I will go back to Ford again? 😂

I have exact same truck for 2021. TH-cam the "AC drain mod". It's not hard once you get the materials. I just did mine. You might have to put 4 little slits at the end of the drain tube that you buy so it can fit over your existing AC drain tube more easily.
Why did you get the SR over the SR5? What do you lose? Also, is there a carpet or rubber floor? I would actually prefer the rubber floor bcause easier to clean.
It's carpet, what I didn't get was the huge SR5 badges that I did not want anyway, and chrome looking trim around the heater vents and aluminum rims, pretty much it..
Thanks for the Video, you just convinced me.. Not looking for the bells and whistles. SR should fit my needs. Love the Stars and Stripes on the doors.. Where did you get them?

very nice! unfortunately my Ford has been back to the dealer a bunch of times for warranty work. And its supposed to be able to take a beating, ha. I've done pretty much light off-roading (no jumping) and it seems like it can't even handle that which is beyond me but... i still love the truck, ha. But I will say if you want reliability then its gotta be a Toyo. Enjoy her!
Wow man sorry to hear that! Hopefully they get it straightened out for you, I actually was originally going to get an F-150 but it would not fit in my garage, cab is just a bit to tall, and this just fits lol
I have this exact truck on order. So relieved to hear you say so many good things about it! The quility of the ride especially!!. I just didn't need a off road. I do tow a small trailer. Get in some slick wet grass around the farm sometimes. I believe its going to suite me well.
Sweet truck I have the same one on order can't wait to get it! The adaptive cruise control is ran by a sensor in the front grill behind the Toyota emblem not by a camera in the windshield.
Nice Taco, I had a 2017 Tacoma TRD Offroad w/ 6-speed manual I picked up for $32k brand new because they couldn't give it away the standard transmission(msrp was $38k). I loved that truck but I got too good an offer on my 2019 Tundra TRD Offroad to refuse. After driving the Taco for over 2 years and putting 12k on the odo the dealer gave me $31k for it and I got the Tundra down to $37k with 1.9% interest down from the 2.4% I had on the Taco. I love my Tundra and it's more useful for home projects and hauling stuff but I miss that Taco I'd love to build one into an all out over lander someday.
How is your transmission? I Just put a deposit on a 2020 SR5. The truck will be ready in September. I need to know if people are still having gear hunting issues!
I just bought a 2021 Tacoma SR V6/4X4 Double Cab. I really wanted the Access Cab/6 foot bed but they seem hard to find. I'm getting over having the shorter bed with this double cab quickly. The rear seat is quite large and cushy and it will be handy to be able to get some sleep on long trips etc. What strikes me most about this truck is the size of it. My previous (2002 2.4L 2WD) Tacoma was about 179 inches in length. This one is a little over 212 inches long. Still fits in the garage, but it is like a tank with the height increase and broad shoulders. The bed IS deeper and with the tail gate down I should still be able to put a 250cc dirt bike in the back. If not, I'll mount a bike holder sideways on the beefy trailer hitch. My first 4X4. I needed the increased towing capacity for a larger boat and the ability to pull it up steep/slippery ramps. Drives and rides nice. You can certainly feel the weight and mass of it compared to my previous much smaller Tacoma.
Love the truck! Thinking about trading in my dodge Ram Rebel and getting a Tacoma TRD off road. Do you know if they have remote start? Thanks for this awesome review really helps when thinking about getting one.

If you dont want to spend the money on a trd. A base model sr or even better, sr5 is good choice especially for a v6 with 4x4. Its the closest you can get with a trd sport.

@@SaintJames40 The Tacoma 6 speed automatic (2021 Tacoma SR 4x4 V6) seems fine to me. Haven't noticed any weirdness. I do like the sport mode manual shifting ability on this truck. Will come in real handy on slippery roads and uphill grades.
Good priorities. So many people buy a new car right out of college. Cars are a depreciating asset. With that said I just reserved a 2021 4 door 4x4 v2 Tacoma sr. Friggin stoked. Market is jacked and I need a 4 door so going to splurge.
It's not an Atkinson transmission that is the cycle the engine is that which the engine operates as opposed to the otto cycle. The transmission is made by Aisin.
I think buying a SR and modding it makes more sense than buying a TRD and swapping out almost everything. Yes I get it the SR doesn't have crawl control and locking diffs. For someone who likes function and customization in a daily driver the SR is underrated 🤷♂️
My 2021 Tacoma SR V6 4x4 doesn't hunt for gears. It can snap your neck back when you really get on the gas. I haven't taken it into the mountains yet to find out how the transmission performs in climbing on grades etc. I really don't care because the sport mode with manual shifting gives me the ability to put it in whatever gear I want. Very handy to either lug it in snow/slippery conditions or get up higher in the RPM's to maintain momentum.
Sweet truck my dawg.. got a 2nd gen. LOVE IT. you pop some sweet black 16 inch rims on it with some falcon wildpeak tires and it will transform the look.. I highly recommend Fallon Wild peak... they are as highly rated as you can get for snow, excellent mud and still not to aggressive for every day driving. And price is only around mid range. Oh and I would go with 265/75/r16 tires when you need a new set.. they are the biggest you can fit on without getting a lift or any rubbing..
Got the same truck 549 a month 0 down seems a little high I’m told. 754 credit leased with TFS. I hope you did better. I need to buy it out. Mileage isn’t that great as advertised is my only gripe only 17-18.
Sweet truck!
I want one of these, Nice video!
You should!
Nice truck! Does the tailgate drop slowly without holding it? I wish I could do a similar mod to the tailgate of my 2000 Tundra.
Yep
After I pay off my college debt and buy a house I'm getting a Tacoma
@@richperry349 buhahahahah!!!!!!!!! Brilliant!!!!
Good priorities. So many people buy a new car right out of college. Cars are a depreciating asset. With that said I just reserved a 2021 4 door 4x4 v2 Tacoma sr. Friggin stoked. Market is jacked and I need a 4 door so going to splurge.
I'm waiting on mine sometime in the next 3 weeks
I love the truck the only thing I would like in that truck would be a 6 speed stick shift and a rear locking differential.
Nice ride dude
Glad you liked it
Look like i got my new truck about same time as you do, tundra sure is hard to get 17 mpg lol
Do you still own your truck and still love it
I heard that the weak point on the Toyota is the transmission. It’s always hunting for the right gear. Is that true?
I was thinking about getting toyo at3 for my sr5 Tacoma 2017 with that same size but I’m afraid that they will rub
Got the same truck 549 a month 0 down seems a little high I’m told. 754 credit leased with TFS. I hope you did better. I need to buy it out. Mileage isn’t that great as advertised is my only gripe only 17-18.
That’s what they are still going for here in Pa. if you can find one.
I was told today, If wanted to order one, It would be 4--6 months! Damn Co-Vid!
Getting mine next week hopefully
I really want a basic SR manual extended cab. Likely a 2.7L. No longer available.
nice truck. tacomas are the best!
Sweet truck! I would love to buy one, I passed on one to get a 2020 RAM rebel wanted the off road truck, Toyota would of been better but needed full size for hauling mowers and 4wheeler down to my house/land in country. But once you have a 4x4 truck it’s hard to go back! I also got 2001 camry for work car bc I drive over 100 miles a day for work. Thanks for all the great reviews! Love your truck!
Very cool!
Excellent vehicle , thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
my dream truck! even the used ones are too expensive
Do you use synthetic oil or conventional?
Is your truck a short bed?
will it pull a 3600 lb camper without an equalizer hitch?
Great Review 👍🏼
Thanks! 👍
Thats so cool
how tall are you? I've heard anyone 6'2 have hard times in them
What kind of tires does the SR come with?
Hankook
Why not just get the SR5 with all the options that one already has?
8k cheaper!
Did the flag decols come on it?
No
I have the same truck (not 4x4). I HATE IT. Its constantly shifting at less then optimal times.
What year?
@@TheHardatoenail was a 2020. I traded it in Jan 21 after 3 different shift updates from Toyota. Wish I had kept my Generation 1 Tacoma.
Where did you get those badass american flags on your yoda?
Random seller on ebay
What was ur OTD?
34K one week before the 2020 lock down, good luck finding that now lol, they are selling 2 year old with 30,000 miles for 34K now
@@humans4targets2 If u know how to negotiate it’s not hard to get that price rn depending on what state ur in. What state did u live in when u purchased the car?
GET A SPRINT BOOSTER, CLAZZIO SEAT COVERS, NEW SETS OF BLACK RIMS AND A 265/75/16 FAULKEN WILDPEAK
Don't forget the 400watt power inverter built into the back of the bed.
SR doesn’t have that.
Do it have an AUX cord?
Yes
'MERICAA
why can i live in merica
im south african
any thoughts?
greencard gang
United States citizens think they are free. They are not free and most don't even care. You can sell them on almost anything no evidence required. I use to be one of them. South Africa probably better than here.
Better off in places like Finland
