- This is the first tour and test of the Riviera 6800 Sport Yacht Platinium which was recently premiered to the public in Australia at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show.
For a vessel of this size I am amazed that the operation of this boat is still just as easy and functional as the smaller Riv's. The Volvo DPS with Dock Assist actually makes this 70ft+ yacht as easy to handle as a 40ft'er!
Riv have achieved something that in my opinion is going to keep families together. A boat like this, that is this easy to operate will facilitate relaxed days. If the skipper isn't loosing his marbles because of a close call at the dock then everyone will be enjoying themselves - and they will come again. I predict days onboard this 6800 will be cool, calm and relaxing.
Enjoy

As always another great video and review keep up the great content what a Beast of Boat Riviera all the way Cheers Kurt
Excellent video as always - she has definitely received a lot of great feedback!
The 6800... what a beauty. Great video, great review.
I was so surprised when Riviera built this particular boat. I thought the 6000 sport yacht was as big as it was going to get Rivera has such a large selection of boats. You wonder why they haven’t built a day boat that is outboard powered would be nice. PS keep up the good work, Dan.👍👍
I asked them that same question about the day boat with Merc 600’s and sounds like no plans. They are so busy and focused on their core market that it wasn’t something they are considering.
Diesel power= the way to go for anything over 40 feet. Torque.
That is one gorgeous boat 😍
Great review as always.
Another awesome video Dan, your crossing some oceans mate and look like your having a hoot of a time! Keep up the great content and safe travels mate...🏁
I think I actually have the best job in the world. This was a super special day. It's hard to fault those Riv's as they pay a lot of attention to the little details.
Good boat Riviera.
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice work Dan
Nice boat ❤
Wow what a beauty. "Here comes a big one mate." LOL I boat in San Francisco, those conditions would be consider bare foot water skiing conditions for us...bring that baby to SF on a June afternoon, every wine glass will be shattered!
Haha… so that sounds like Sydney on a summers afternoon when the NE is up. I’m still confident the wine glasses would survive that adventure on this boat 😁
Luv it, would prefer straight shaft drives with a couple of Yanmar 8 diesels plus a Veem Marine size 54 gyro stabilisation and 5 blade Veem interceptor propellers and all Furuno electronics with a Boning management system, the quality on all Rivieras is magfuckingnificant
Sydney to Kiwi Land in a Riv 6800? With great weather conditions & the famous East Australian current playing ball you could make it but you'd want to deck three or four 44s to give yourself a safe margin. A lot can happen weather wise over five days steaming.
Yep that makes a lot of sense.
Can we see the cabins? Staterooms?
Who wouldn't want this tight vessel?
I know right
A Maritimo X60 might be comparable, a little shorter them the Riviera but another good Aussie made boat.
wheres link to walkthrough?
Yeah can’t wear polarised sunglasses on my boat either.
🙏 👍 🇨🇷
That was a really dumb place to attempt a speed test. Too much traffic, the wash of that barge is deadly. Also mouthing off about the tinnies was arrogant given you confused them by buggerising about in the middle of a channel. You’ve lost me.
I boat here often and there are plenty of tinnie idiots in this channel. I agree with Dan. No problem losing you. See ya. 😂
@@JohnSmith-zo6iryou are probably an arrogant prick too?
So i deliberately use this spot so I don’t affect people on anchor etc. I was on DPS hold before accelerating so my position was predictable for others. I don’t think cutting between me and a marker with a tinny full of kids on the plane was a good idea… each to their own and I know I’ll never please everyone and that’s ok. Have a great day.
@@BoatLife_DansBoatLife Ignore him Dan, he doesn't even own a boat. A self appointed expert. I would have done exactly the same as you.
@@JohnSmith-zo6ir presumptuous much? You didn’t need to comment, I think maybe you are the self appointed expert here buddy?
