I think Tucker just invented my new favorite genre of content. Just a video about someone talking about something they’re really passionate about with no real focus so it just meanders really nicely from thought to thought getting lost in side topics and tangents. Lemme tell you, I was not a big game cube fan before this video, but I got so caught up in Tucker’s passion for it that by the end of the video I became a staunch GameCube supporter. Home run video! Keep it up!
My favortie part was when tucker was talking about the gamecube and its everlasting charm, my least favorite part was the pause between each word when Tucker wasnt talking, just felt like a waste of my time tbh
This truly is the zenith of Nintendo Gamecube and Nintendo Gamecube-Adjacent content. Takes me back to going to play Melee at my friend's house after school!
Damn, Tucker!! Really giving the JSchlatt tribute video vibes. I'm absolutely loving it man. This video was phenomenal and I actually took my GameCube out of its dusty old storage box after watching it. Thanks man!
Tucker lover here, LOVE to see you making a video essay, i love seeing ppl talk ab what they're passionate about and video essays are my favvvv, will def be here for whatever the next upload may be, bc no matter what you've got a great energy
my goat. i was born in 2004 with only gamecube in my baby hands. i played green hill zone in sonic 1, chemical plant in sonic 2, angel island in sonic 3, and mushroom hill in 3 and knuckles in sonic mega collection over and over because i was a stupid child who couldn't get past the first zone in each game. i never had smash, never had double dash, no windwaker, no twilight princess, no sunshine, just 10 different sonic games and x2 wolverines revenge. peak.
Tucker. I feel so fucking seen. Not from the GameCube content but from you talking about Code Lyoko. No one I've talked to in real life has ever known/talked about Code Lyoko, I remember being enthralled by it in like early elementary/around 2nd grade. To have someone out there actually acknowledge it's existence is life changing rn holy shit
pikmin was my SHIT growing up. me and my brother stumbled across some music of ocarina of time a few years ago and the next day he woke me up and was like get tf up im buying a gamecube and we’ve been collecting games ever since. i was so mad when we got rid of ours when we were younger
Picking up a Wii fairly recently I am so excited to experience the GameCube library, it’s a little unfortunate though that every classic game on the GC is like $60+
Code Lyoko was such an amazing but underrated show - in all my years, this is the first time I’ve actually seen anyone make a reference to it outside of directly looking for info on the IP…thank you 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This means so much to me, I'm a 2004 kid I grew up only playing the GameCube for most of my childhood and none of my friends really knew anything about it. It's great seeing so many other people sharing the love for it! Thank you for mentioning double dash it's my absolute favorite Mario Kart game! :D
I played the DS version of Froggers Adventure, which I guess was called Frogger Helmet Chaos, but let me tell you, hearing those game sounds for a brief moment felt so surreal, like I never left that time in my life
GameCube is fucking legendary. It was my first exposure to real ass video games. Even some of the shovel ware bs was surprisingly quality. Fantastic video! You’re a legend :)
i miss this era so much, this video made me nostalgic. also love that you included music from Crystal Chronicles, felt like nobody knew that game except for me when i was a kid, it was one of my favorites
The GameCube was mine and my younger brother's first console. Man, when I say that the games we played, the memories we made--that console was incredible
I didn't grow up in the prime of most of these consoles the oldest console I ever played on was an NES remake which my brother ended up breaking which i was genuinely so mad about despite not being a gamer and being trash at playing games in general. I also played the ps2 mostly as my brother was the 'gamer' of the household and my dad would get him older consoles before building him up to more recent ones. Seeing people much older than me with nostalgia of these consoles is just really nice and I've been meaning to look into these more 'retro' consoles. So thanks for uploading this tucker its super cool to see this little look into the past i didnt grow up in. :]
I used to watch these kinds of videos all the time as a kid. Seeing one of my favorite creators nowadays making vids that I loved and still love today is so amazing ❤
I love seeing how happy the GameCube makes you. I was not able to get any of these console except for at friends houses so it’s just- delightful to see
I grew up extremely poor, with cheap parents, and still had a GameCube. I still have it, manual, box and all - as well as the tiny 80s TV we had to play it on. Your parents were another level of cheap, Tuck, and I'm glad you can sleep next to your 'Cube now, stroking its fan ports in 3D bliss.
I was 10 years old when this console came out and I STILL LOVE IT. This was the era where Nintendo got really weird, experimental, and interesting. Luigi is a ghost buster, mario has a watergun, link is a cartoon, here's a game where you pay off your debt, and let's make an RTS with vegetables. But my favorite thing was the Y2K future aesthetic of F-Zero, PSO, Custom Robo, and so much more. It was just awesome.
I wasn't looking for yet another video essay about nintendo or games I love, but the inclusion of pokemon and the way it was addressed was pretty dope.
I have to say I’m a huge fan of chuckle sandwich, and as much as I love Schlatt and Ted’s content… Tuckers might just bust out as my favorite content creator if he keeps up this kind of content
I didn't really care about the GameCube before and clicked the video because Tucker talked ab it on the pod, but i found it was quite engaging. From the perspective of someone who grew up using mobile devices, I found it very interesting to hear how game changing these new gaming technologies were in their time, the storytelling and reminiscing does a really good job of highlighting this aspect. Enjoyed the video!
Absolutely amazing video! It reminds me of my own Gamecube-related story. When I was younger, I lived in a low-income family and the only gaming system we had was my older sister's N64, which only had about 3 games on it. They were fun to beat over and over, but they started to feel a little stale as I got older and I started to turn away from gaming for a bit. But my mom became friends with this couple that owned a GameCube. I used to go over there with her to play it and became absolutely enthralled with all the games they had, Smash Bros. Melee included. I started to ask to go over there everyday just to play it, so much so that they eventually GAVE it to me as a Christmas present. I became so immersed into the gaming world after that and I'm forever grateful to them. I genuinely feel like that was a pivotal moment in my life thats made me into the nerdy person I am today. I fucking love the GameCube.
I didnt know what a memory card was for a couple years so i would play through the games from the beginning and never finished them. Shout out swap meet videogame stands
