Thank you for highlighting issues with the breeding of brachycephalic dogs. It’s not just the puppy mills that are the problem. The AKC, UKC, EKC, and other regional dog clubs have a lot to answer for in promoting those breeds, which are so susceptible to breathing problems.
Agreed fully! It's just terrible how they even refuse to acknowledge those breeds by breeders that intentionally do their best to make them have a better quality of life. In Europe it's becoming bigger that breeders are breeding back some old traits into brachycephalic dogs, such as longer snouts and better body and neck structure. Same goes for breeds like the GSD, there are a lot who are trying to eliminate the hunched back, which is only bred for cosmetics due to the standards of the AKC, UKC, EKC, etc. All of these dog clubs refuse to acknowledge them and even go hard against condeming those breeders, because it's not the standard. They're a big part of the problem. But many breeders over here stay dedicated to giving those breeds a better quality of life. In Germany, we actually have a term for dog breeds who are breeded with terrible traits that reduce their quality of life (frenchies, etc.) and tea-cup type of dogs (Pomeranian, mini Chihuahua (their brain is too big for their skull, leading to the buldged eye looks), etc.). It's "Qualzucht" and literally translated it means "agony/torture breed". There is no term like this in English, which shocks me honestly!
@@Hermititis True, it's sorta also what it means in German, as it directly refers to the terrible traits those poor breeds have to endure. ❤😊 The bit about little arnie made me cheer out loud. Love at first sight with his new sister mabel sealing his happy future was wonderful. Looks like those 2 doggies are going to spend their lives being spoiled rotten by mom as they should be.
I have a perfect little Yorkie who was surrendered to my Vet. Lucky me!! I showed up 2 hrs. later and asked about whether they ever get dogs for rescue. He's been with me for nearly 1 1/2 years now! Love him so much.
Arnie breaks my heart, how anyone could be so cruel to any beautiful creature. I was so happy that Mabel and Arnie were so good, and Ali will have a fabulous forever home.
We have rescued a puppy milled chihuahua years ago. She was 8 when we got her & she lived to be 17.5. We gave her major care & the best years of her life! She had infected feet due to standing in her own feces, bad teeth & other issues! We spoiled her rotten because she deserved it!
The dogs in the kennel, including Jack, are all so healthy looking. It’s nice to see dogs in that type of setting that are being well taken care of. Poor Jack was probably neglected. Our cat took 2 weeks to come out from under the cabinets when we first got her. Now she is terrified of other humans, but loves me and my son.
Such beautiful and amazing stories. Humans make me so angry the way they treat their animals! But stories like these restore my faith in humanity. I knew Ali would take sweet Arnie. He will have the best most wonderful life now.❤😂
Jack was so scared, glad Scott spent time with him. I did notice that the beagles in there were also fearful they never came up to him either. Just an observation. Ali is a beautiful person inside and out, so glad he and Mabel got along, and she was able to take him in.
My Phoebe was rescued from a kitten/puppy farm. She was 8 and not spayed at that time. I I gave her the run of the house, let her hide from me if she needed to, six months later she leapt up at the foot of my bed. She slowly moved up to my pillow. Now she is bold, comes out for pets from everyone who comes into the house, loves my neighborhood big dogs, and is totally different from when I first got her home.
We adopt only Shelter pets. The last dog my husband and I had together was a Senior Dachshund, apx 12 years old, found wandering the streets of a major city. She had several fatty tumors our Vet decided to leave, as they were more unsightly than anything else. We had her 5 years, and she passed just a few months before my husband did. Because of my age, I wanted another Senior Doxie dog as a companion once I was ready for one...But when I went to the pound, I fell in love--with a Terrier PUPPY! Funny how that works, isn't it? HOWEVER, I've made firm arrangements for his adoption by my daughter when I pass--I'm 76, and I want to make sure he has a long and happy life. Happily, my daughter babysits him often 🙂.
Omgosh the way the english bull terrier just follows Scot and the others to get his teeth cleaned. "Oh okay we going? Okay Imma coming nice vet man, wait for me" ❤ Aaaaw and his playbows towards Mabel when they met! I'm not crying, you're crying!
We had a golden retriever who adopted us about 30 years ago. When he was 13 he became deaf, he also had cataracts, so he didn’t see really well either. I marred and moved Bronson with me. My new husband had a little female dog who was herself about 11 or 12. Daisy would alert Bronson to bark when he needed to , like when a stranger drove up. She would also wake him up when it was time to eat! Both dogs have since passed on , I felt the wayDIsy bonded
Jack did amazing he was meeting a new person and he had a cameraman in the kennel so I don't blame the dog for being a little nervous. Jack will be fine if he's adopted by someone who's going to give him the love and attention he needs
Watching Apple reminded me of my own baby kitty. He was little over one and a half years old when my best friend found him crying for help outside her balcony window. He was abandoned by his last owner, left on the streets to fend for himself, was getting attacked by foxes, had fleas and blood in his stools. He was severely underweight and malnourished. It took a long time to get to the bottom of his diarrhea and get him in a diet that works for him. He was 4kg when he as first found and now is a healthy 6kg kitty and so happy. I can't understand why his last owners abandoned him. He is the sweetest boy and I would give up my organs for him. I love him so much. I truly hurt for animals who were abandoned. The trauma can stay with them for a long time.
Who abandons a dog: people who run out of money, people who need a job because of sudden dismissal or long-term un employment, mental and physical health issues... The list goes on. No one adopts a pet with the intention of abandoning them. Staying alive, especially in the current economic conditions, got a lot harder a lot faster than anyone could anticipate. We need to have compassion for abandoned animals and the people who leave them. Arnie absolutely broke my heart 😭 he's such a sweet boy and has been through so much. I'm glad he got the help he needed and someone who loves him the way he deserves to be loved. How could someone just dump such a sweet old boy? Especially when he's so old. I almost cried when he did the play bow. And poor Ethel 😔 i have a rescue pug who is luckily very healthy, but when i look at Ethel i see my own pup
It's tragic that older dogs are abandoned, but perhaps their owners lack the money for veterinarian care. Still, that beautiful dogs are in left in such pain and despair is tremendously sad. Thank goodness for the Bondi Vet and all the vets who have such humanity.
My border collie loved people. He used to play football with his feet. My neighbours children used to call and ask if they could take Topaz out to play. I haven’t had another dog since, I don’t think I could find another dog with such a great personality.
Ali is such a wonderful lady and clearly loves Arnie. I hope they get to spend the rest of his life happily with Ali. Although I have a Frenchie his airways haven’t been breed to be so narrowed. Also I didn’t actually buy so my money wasn’t put into the continuation of this awful breeding. Ethan bless her is struggling to breath poor girl. Thank you Scott for helping these poor neglected sweet little dogs.
When you decide to take in an animal you have to be prepared to do just that. Animals are like humans, you have to take care of them. I’m the type that if I could take care of all of them I would but I can barely take care of my own self. They give so much of themselves and all they really want is love, unconditionally. It’s sad how they are neglected. I’m hoping for the best for the animals and the families that take them in. ❤❤❤
At a "last chance" shelter in the US, they put a fearful dog in with a person- and a really friendly dog. The shy dogs learn trust from the happy, friendly dogs.
For Apple, the way she screamed during the bath almost sounds like whoever had her used water as a punishment! She sounded beyond terrified! That poor muffin!!!
I'm literally crying. I had a shih tzu maltese mix named Apple!! He came from a very neglectful breeder and he bonded so deeply with me. He passed away last year from medical complications. I miss him dearly.
I wish all the best for a kind hearted ali..mabel & arnie..her fur babies.. thank you so much Ali for having such cares and love to animals. God bless you. ❤
arnie's story really tugs at my heart strings. my family has 2 elderly dogs who both have a few issues - 1 is staying overnight for the 2nd night at the vet since he had to have a hernia surgery and he developed some tummy problems after. should be home tomorrow i hope. his surgery is expensive and we aren't exactly rich, but what we lack in money we make up for with the love we've been given by our old men. giving them up is legit not an option we would ever consider.
I just love to see these neglected animals ending up with the most amazing people. We might not be able to do it for all animals but at least a few get a happy ending.
Apple came in looking sad and not so pretty. What a trim, a bath, and some proper TLC makes! Then to see Apple with fur grown back and with proper grooming. It's like night and day!
Rescue dogs are absolutely amazing and so rewarding (cats too!) Feeling like you've gained their trust just feels so good. My family got a dog about five years ago, he is a Siberian Husky who was surrendered and only six months old. We immediately knew something about him was different compared to other dogs. He didn't bark at all, not even when the other dogs did and he didn't know how to play with dog toys. He was shy and not all that affectionate. Once we took him home and he bonded to us we discovered another issue. He had extreme separation anxiety and tore up his gums when we left him alone in his crate for the first time. Coming home to a bloody mess and mamgled crate was just horrifying and we knew we had our work cut out for us. But with some training and a lot of hard work his separation anxiety eventually improved. Now we don't have to worry about leaving him home alone.
Hurts my heart to see an obviously neglected or even abused animal still be really happy to meet new people. I mean, it is better than being terrified of everyone, but to think that despite being mistreated or ignored, the pet probably was still happy to see their old owner, because the pet is so sweet. :’
Having a pet is like having a baby, it’s a lifetime commitment.
We agree!
Too many "accidentally" fall pregnant incapable of bringing up anything!
Absolutely! Pets are a lifelong commitment!
Ali is such a sweet loving soul ❤ I'm so glad Arnie found his forever home with Ali

Ethel's little stickin out tongue KILLS me I love her so much
Some people are awful I’m so glad these sweet babies found the beautiful wonderful people who care
Arnie is an absolute handsome furbaby ❤️❤️❤️
My border collie loved people. He used to play football with his feet. My neighbours children used to call and ask if they could take Topaz out to play. I haven’t had another dog since, I don’t think I could find another dog with such a great personality.
I thoroughly enjoyed this show. Great to see awesome work. Congratulations 👏 👏
❤❤❤
I love border collies. They are so beautiful.
Beautiful Ethel. What a lovely girl bless her.
I just love Ali! She's such a kindred spirit! ❤
It is so wonderful to see all these dogs get a new chance to a good life. They're improving the world, one dog at a time. Thank you so very much!
Hi Scott. Great job as usual. You are the best vet ever. Thank you
Ali is such a wonderful lady and clearly loves Arnie.
Another princess trait for Ethel is giving air kisses
Every one of these cases are fascinating. Ethel finally breathing is amazing!
And thankyou Apples new family.
Thank you so much for helping him!!
At a "last chance" shelter in the US, they put a fearful dog in with a person- and a really friendly dog. The shy dogs learn trust from the happy, friendly dogs.
My new favourite channel ❤
💙
One really adorable pug
For Apple, the way she screamed during the bath almost sounds like whoever had her used water as a punishment! She sounded beyond terrified! That poor muffin!!!
coming from a dog groomer.. thats actually a super common response to baths
Thanks too everyone for your care of the wild life and everyone you guys do with the domestic and wild life keep the great job
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh my heart was beating so hard when the old dog stopped breathing during surgery. Im glad there all ok
Poor Ethel she must feel so much better with all that lovely air shes getting. I can empathize i have apnea.
I just found this channel and I absolutely love it. It's so great to see the care and love for these precious animals.
❤️❤️❤️
Yay🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤another dog saved and in his Forever home💐👑💓🥰
Stunning room! All the work was worth your time !
Classic bull terrier bad breading but they still are prone to deafness !!
Adorable 🥰 connection will Ally!
Bro, for a second I actually thought that Lisa legit cut off apple’s ear 😅 aww bless her heart. No animal deserves to be in that kind of condition 💔
Jack the x stud 🐕 can retire at my place,he can become my company and him and I would go for walks and just relax 😎.😊
two good people who love animals
Great job vets.
Patience to do things on the dog's terms is love.
Apple is too cute!
In très grand merci pour ce beau travail avec ce beau chien. ❤ Dr. Scott tu es le meilleur ❤😊
What a special and sweet person❤️❤️
What's worse, surrendering a dog you know you can't care for, or keeping them knowing you can't provide adequate care?
Every thing takes time/patience.😅😊
I really can say 'i know, ì know.." sweet baby. My problem is not that much nose but lungs. Im so tired!!
Hurts my heart to see an obviously neglected or even abused animal still be really happy to meet new people.
I mean, it is better than being terrified of everyone, but to think that despite being mistreated or ignored, the pet probably was still happy to see their old owner, because the pet is so sweet. :’
Love these shows lol wish I could go bondi with my kids n hubby
When Ali saw arni, her face- I just was right there with her in that moment
I wonder if nurse Nathan knows he has a fan 😍 club.
It's so awesome and hear warming to see how they transform with some love!
YOU ARE AMAZING===THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a wonderful 😇women that rescues dogs like apple and the wonderful couple that gives them a forever home!
