Happy, i haven´t seen a long time Tim Faulkner 😊. The main thing is, the plastic straw is out of the bird´s throat. The rooks were lovely ❤. They are very wise birds. parrots ❤❤.
That chicken wire is highly toxic to birds because they are galvanized (zinc coated) I surely would change that to a stainless-steel fencing. It could be the reason for his long-term plucking, too.
That bloke with the galah makes me fume ! He is killing that poor bird because he thinks it is funny to feed him junk and is too dumb to find out what he actually needs to eat to be healthy. Shockingly negligent !
A short length of half inch dowel, wedged into the toes so they grip it in a natural position would be good conditioning for the feet, possible leading to the bird's ability to sit on a branch eventually. Things have to be stretched out.
It can also be because the bird has been malnourished and as mentioned in the video that the diet was not the ideal thing. From what I guess (and I am not a professional, just a curious person interested in a wide variety of animals) is that he's been malnourished. Or he is bored since there is nothing to do in the cage. Still very sad as I've seen many other bird owners not preparing themselves to take care of a bird.
I'm seeing a lot of people mention that Pretty is missing a significant chunk of his feathers and immediately going to it being purely behavioral. HOWEVER it can 100% be caused by diet. In Pretty's case specifically it's likely a combination of boredom, his diet, and just his species (as cockatoos are notorious feather pluckers, and galahs are just a species of cockatoo). Main reason I say this is because just looking at Pretty's feathers between when Chris first sees him vs when he checks in on him again, it looks like he's grown a few more and the pin feathers seen when he's first examined aren't there anymore, and looking at the location, they grew out. Even looking at his wings, the feathers look like they were able to develop from blood feathers into regular flight feathers. To me personally, it implies that Pretty's plucking habits were heavily influenced by his diet, with boredom and his species also influencing it but not as much. I'm also not an ornithologist though so this is just my knowledge from being a zoology nerd for as long as I can remember. also can we stop conflating being a bad owner with not giving your animal a proper diet? the fact that Pretty's owner called Chris in the first place says WAY more about him as a bird owner than the fact that he wasn't feeding his bird a good diet.
Great jobs ya'll. You have so much empathy for God's creatures. God put these creatures on this earth and then He put vets here (who studied hard) to take care and cure them. Thank you and God bless ya'll. 32:53
When you own a bird, you get used to their poop. It doesn’t stink. It doesn’t stain clothes. And they do it every 15 minutes or so. So, if poop is making ya nauseous, don’t watch nor own one.
I'm never gonna forget the way little Cheeky's pleasuring was described lol
Aww that poor bird sounded like he was crying when Chris was feeling it's stomach it must be painful, but I know she's in very good hands. 👍 ❤❤❤❤❤❤🙏🏻🙏🏻
Birds are such a beautiful amazing creatures, Chris and Scott are such amazing humans for all they do is for the animal world.
Rodney just chilling out and watching the procedure is my favorite
Definitely thought he was going to say get Cheeky a mate but convincing her its not mating season makes much more sense
Love the one bird watching you Scott really cute
That black raven is very brave
👉 Does it occur to Mauriccio that the inappropriate diet is also responsible for Pretty's feather loss ??? 😬👿
That and there's nothing in the cage, poor bird is probably plucking out of boredom as well :/
Definitely

Nelson's wing amputation was scary.

Stainless steel all the way!
This is why I hate straws. I have had a metal one but lost it, still looking for it. Anywho, THIS is the reason
You guys are awesome! Thank you for helping al these animals! 🙏🙏🙏😻😻😻
2:03 is that a budgie?
8:38 there it is again!
They're native to Australia AFAIK.
@@darthkarl99 I know, I was pointing them out because they make me happy.
@@Barakon Ha, fair. I think everyone likes budgies and cockatiels
Rodney is a nice bird
Lol Rodney was a vet in a past life or something! Totally giving Scott the once over while he was trimming to make sure he was doing it right!
hi

Pretty is eating the diet I dream of if I *ever* strike it rich
My parrot is 35 !
What about his lack of feathers? Self plucking is stress related.

oooo cheeky looks like she has a blood feather poor baby

I feel for that bird that has to live on a healthy diet now. ;^;

All I can think of for #1 is WHAT IF IT POOPS ON YOUR HEAD??? 🤢🤢🤢🤢

Pretty does look better...but why are we not talking about all his missing feathers?
