When did we replace the word " site" with the American " lot"?

Isnt a "lot" somewhere where you park your car in the States? Not in The States of Guernsey, obviously.

When the German's landed they found the majority of Guernsey inhabitants to have fled to Britain. British people housed the people of Guernsey, so tell me, who were the immigrants then?

@@Maranatha14 You need to understand history before you post a comment like that. The people of the Channel Islands are British as back in history we helped conquer England and our duke became William 1 king of England. You also have to look at why and how the Germans come to occupy the Channel Islands. The British Government took Voluntary payments from the Channel Islands for their defence having already decided to abandon them if the Germans reached Normandy (due to there being no strategic value) they the so abandoned the Channel Islands with little warning to the Channel Islands and no plans for evacuation of those wishing to go. An evacuation was only hasterly arranged after Lord Portsea sent an open letter to the Times News paper pointing all of this out to the British public. The people of the Channel Islands Guernsey, Alderney and Jersey who you infer were immigrants were in fact evacuies the same of those who were evacutatied from the English cities. and for a bonus fact you will find the Channel Islanders have served in the British armed forces with distinction for the last 900 years.
