I honestly think people have been underestimating the PS5 Pro. The PSSR and machine learning will improve and console games tend to be optimized with higher priority than PC. I think PC has many advantages but it's not always objectively better.
PSSR will only improve as much as the hardware allows it.
You really just typed that? Lol 😂
@@firexallst4rz277 Go look up Batman Arkham Knight PC launch and get back with me. Its well known PC always has wayyyyyy more issues out the door day one then consoles. Do consoles have day one issues? of course but no where near as much as PC. PC usually have number one, Audio issues. Then there is optimization issues, then there is frame issues. Go look up the games that just came out this week such as Spiderman 2 for PC, or God of War, or Last of Us Remake.
@@Streetpharmasist420 GOW PC port was awesome as for the other 2 it was on the Studios not the PC cause TLOU was a 10y+ old game ported to PC and it was pure DS and the whole reason behind this is that devs then were prioritizing Consoles and the PC but nowdays we see it going the other way around
It's just FSR why is it special when Sony uses AMD, calling PC games un optimized is a blanket statement only someone tied to console could make
As a PC gamer of the last ten years, yeah, that’s a thorn in PCs side. Unoptimized slop that is rushed out on day one.
I usually avoid it since I’m usually playing my backlog and won’t get to a new game for a good six months or more. But if you’re a day-one gamer, console gives that stability.
Both platforms have issues, it just depends on which ones annoy you more, and which ones you're willing to live with.
What issues does ps5 pro have?
@@bshn10 Getting online 😂😂😂
@@bshn10Frame drops and frames below 60
@@bshn10 Weak CPU, doesn't have a huge library of Steam games available to play, there is basically no choice in controller style, the paywall for online play, the UI is pretty bad even compared to PS3 and PS4, it struggles to maintain locked 60fps on some games, there are practically no mods, and it's limited to basic resolutions/aspect ratios. There may be a couple more that I'm not thinking of off the top of my head, but it's a start.
No
Unfortunately i haven't been playing on my pc as much as my pro because all these new games on pc are just unoptimized slop and console allways is at 30 or 60 or 120 on new games locked
Good to see you back with the flow , now where is that dead space video !?
@@Horniiik yeah I can test that man! Believe it’s a fixed resolution so doubt it’ll look any different
Great video.
I have both, PC and PS5 Pro. I have bounced back and forth many times over the years, many people probably do. Since I traded my PS5 digital in for the PS5 Pro, I have not touched my PC. I am seriously considering selling it as I am a Mac user for any computing that is not gaming. I do not have a need for a PC unless it is gaming.
Yes my PC can "out perform" my PS5 Pro. A great example of this is Red Dead 2, which is locked to 30fps on the PS and I get 120ish on my PC. For that game it is frustrating on the PS because I know RockStar could patch it to get it to 60. They probably will and then charge people for it.
IMHO or at least for me, once a game hits 60fps anything past that is great, but I must admit it does not matter to me. My gaming time is limited with work, family and other hobbies. Booting up my gaming PC that has been off for a week and letting it get a bunch of Windows updates, discord, steam, game updates, NVIDIA driver update etc, so that I then can play a game for 30min....is not appealing to me. Letting my PS5 Pro sit in rest mode and update everything while I am not using it, allows me to quickly wake it up and game for 30min.
The 5000 series release was a joke and the pricing does not warrant the performamce. Glad you made this and cleared it up.
Arguing with PC MASTER RACE IS STUPID. if they think they are the best just let them win. That's right your PC IS BETTER THAN MY PRO ! So ? 😂 I'll take my consoles any day any time than struggling with stupid issues on super expensive pc rig.
Sony ecosystem is a big waste of money, and TV PCs are getting a lot better

I own both PC and PS5. I play my games where they are more accessible. With my family and busy work schedule I play PS games on both my Steam Deck and PC. I wish SONY allowed cross-saves between PC and PS5 but currently that’s not a possibility. For now I use my PS5 for PSVR2, Gran Turismo, PS4 games, and for free PS plus games.
I use a ps portal.
Shame we won’t see the 5090 build, but love watching your journey with gaming.
@@stevenaldridge yeah man not atm at least! Maybe in the future!
Hey MajorBen, thank you for making this video and clearing things up, like many of us visiting your channel for Ps5 Pro content we were a big shacken with how blunt you were in this matter but i totally admire you coming on and updating us on how things have been and your direction. Champion resubbed!
@@markbrendan8774 apologies. I just made a mistake and forgot the many issues I faced with PC. This always was why I preferred console which is just simplicity. It was an honest mistake. Apologies
Same, resubbed. Came multiple times after getting a PS5 Pro to see which games benefitted from it.
PC: unoptimized games can still be fixed by the community
Consoles: pray that all your games are optimized
I agree with what you said, 100%.
But, the amount of time you dork around with hunting down community fixes, testing them, and getting them to work is simply not worth it to me anymore. I game less and when I find the time to game, I just want to game. The PS5 Pro does this for me easier than my gaming PC.
This 👆
Why do we have to optimize a game the developers should’ve done in the first place? Not only that I’ve experienced that not a lot of the “community” can fix your game and that’s just facts people need to stop down playing console gaming, I have a 3080 pc and I feel more better playing on a console, most games are just optimized better on console more than the pc🤷🏽♂️
@daveyt9080 sorry but unoptimized experience on my PC means 1440p with a locked 60 fps. That is still better than optimized console titles that has dynamic resolution and still drops below 60 fps.
That unoptimized PC game can still be paired with lossless scaling and can give me a 120 fps experience. On consoles, i am stuck with whatever the devs has defined as an "optimized" 30 fps experience.
@@MrSiloterio All true and if high FPS, beyond 60, is a big deal to you then PC gaming is the best way to go. No games should be 30fps in 2025, but how many gamers can actually notice a difference between 60 and 90 or 120? I suspect not many. For sure those twitch gamers who live in Counter Strike or Rocket League/esport games can notice and will want 260-300fps if they can get it, runing games at 1080p with all detail down to eek out every frame they can get.
I am in IT so I follow a bunch of tech feeds. Just saw one, Neowin is reporting that 5090's are melting power cables. This after they changed the cable to be at an angle from the 4000 series to fix this issue. This is the kind of stuff that just turns me off from PC gaming. Imagine paying $2000-$2500 for a 5090 and the power cables melt.
This is the crux of PC being a all encompassing platform, 1) you have to wait at minimum a year (sometimes 2+) to play exclusives, 2) once you do get the game all that waiting for a buggy unoptimized mess. 3) no ability to collect and or trade/sell games 4) the constant setting up, and tweaking and having to change this or that, it’s just not for everyone and very difficult point of entry for normies. 5) cost of entry, the PC to get one that comes close to PS5pro is around 1200. 6) gaming from the couch, it’s just not ideally conducive to couch gaming because of keyboard/mouse needing to be used for navigation of OS.
UE 5 has bad stutter issues on PC. Before buying a game on PC make sure it has no stutter issues.
also locking fps can help at times
Several engines have stutter issues. Sniper Elite: Resistance that was used as an example in the video is on the Asura Engine
@@fjellgnu i finished that game and i had no issues what i have issues is with Monster Hunter Wilds using the RE Engine and clearly it doesn't work
UE5 has issues everywhere.
Rip pc
I own both, but I prefer my rig with my 4090 than the PS5. Is tricky to play in high FPS, then drop to play 30 to 60 on a console. It feels too slow for me🤷♂️🤷♂️
Any true gamer will have both. 👍
Doom eternal and Skyrim can be played on the steam deck.
The reason I’m not enjoying PC anymore is not about just the ridiculous prices. I’m getting old. I want something to plug and play.
tho today is plug and can't play
thats 1 of the 2 main reasons why i changed from pc gaming. the other reason was the waiting for the playstation games to actually come to pc was painful expecially when trying to dodge any spoilers on youtube.
I have a 7900 XTX and a PS5 Pro. I mainly play BlackOps 6, and on extreme settings on PC, I experience occasional dips below 120fps. The PS5 Pro consistently holds a solid 120fps, and I find it hard to notice a significant difference in quality. While I'm primarily a PC gamer, I've surprisingly found myself reaching for the console more often for this particular game.
I switched to ps5 pro for the simple fact I can turn crossplay off and avoid cheaters. Most pc multiplayer games are nothing but a frustration for me dealing with the massive amount of ppl who cheat now.
For the ps6 Sony needs to go hard and release a beast of a console, main thing is it needs a monster cpu something comparable to the 7800x3d would be amazing
i have a 4090 Pc and i replay FF7 rebirth.. i did some tweaking to finally work it properly with no issues... then i jump back to PS5 PRO just change to versatility mode and boom not even a single pop in, stutter, freeze or crash... what i love on PC games is the ability to MOD the game... I LOVE BOTH PC AND THE PS5 PRO...
Same here. Not dying on any hills. Enjoying both. 👍
The last of us part 2 keeps crashing on me at the museum wen they get in the spaceship scene. I'm on ps5pro was wondering if anyone else's is having the same problem?
Had that happen one time and didn't see that again though
I can't get past it 😢 ill try again tonight.@@WhSpRz_366
if your playing of a 3rd party ssd it could be that. I had a problems with spiderman 2, moved it to the console ssd storage and the problems stopped.
No problem
No need to apologize Ben! I love consoles despite having a pc! recently got gifted an xbox series x and am loving gamepass and quick resume for a first time xbox user. Still loving KCD2 on the PS5 pro though! There will always big negative people but it takes a bigger man to own up and say hey I was wrong.. Keep up the great videos dude
PC isn't King....Physical media is and always will be.
Bro you don’t have to pick one or the other, sometimes games run better on pc and sometimes games play great on console and it’s simpler and better to play on there and of course the exclusives.
Kcd2 for example looks/runs great on the pro, does it look better on a beefy pc sure but not enough to radically improve the experience and it’s hard to beat the console experience of just picking up the controller hitting a button and your playing, nothing more to think about.
Here’s hoping the ps6 is an absolute beast of a console and we will no longer have to flip flop between platforms.
generally when games stutter on pc its usually on max max settings reducing those settings slightly even if you have 4090 fixes those issues, cause developers dont geberally optimise the ultra settings, so doing setting touch up usually fixes stutters and still get good performance and image quality with no stutter
issue of stutter is sometimes gpu and sometimes its on the cpu side
consoles also suffer from stutter on certain games but first party games generally are well optimised so on those games you in a safe zone no garantees tho
The correct way of going about it is, play where the game runs best. You can’t get the “proper” Cyberpunk experience on console. It’s good on console. But it’s transformative on PC.
On the flip side, games like Dead Space, Jedi Survivor, Hogwarts Legacy…you’re still trading graphical fidelity to some extent. But the solid 60fps experience on PS5 Pro on those games and many others, for me, is worth playing on the Pro.
They’re both great.
Well buddy, I'm bbbbbbbbaaaacccccckkkkkk. I had this video on my recommended page and I'm glade it was. I look forward to seeing more of your opinions on games on the ps5 pro. 🙂🙃🙂🙃
I always wanted to get a PC, but only ever owned Playstation consoles... I think the PS5 Pro is a great system once I played Spider-Man Remastered it blew me away. 😮
Not to mention if live in the in US the PS5 pro is not that expensive considering you have 2TB in it.
Told you. PC has become the sunk cost fallacy disaster. Sad reality, but it is.
Quality is 100x on PS5Pro. Not delusional fanaticism, just facts.
At least you can add 8TB SSD and enjoy super great enjoyment, unlike Xbox which blew their lead with abysmal storage garbage.
Grab turismo 7 still big time needs ability to backup replays to USB at minimum. And unlimited automatic real-time replay saves should be bare minimum in 2025.
Unfortunately the solution for pc is buying a 7900xtx, 4080s, a 4090, 5080, 5090 non of which are cheap! Best thing about console is is not having to spend 20 minutes picking the best settings which will suit the game
and the worse parts of the playstation is your just locked to the one device, that one controller, unable to have multiple screens, for sure if you have no online friends that you dont talk to on discord or something its viable but the mistake people have is thinking a pc only use is gaming
Unoptimized and overpriced pcs makes what they are saying worth it.
you think everyone spends $1k on a single part? The best mid range gaming PCs are $1k total

I have a 4090 as well 🤷
I fully agree mate. I have my PS5 Pro and 4070 Ti Super rig connected up to my C2 and most of the time I boot up my Pro. It's so much less stress and a stable 60 fps is much better than a badly frame paced 120 fps. I've compared quite a few games graphically on PC and Pro, and the difference is usually just that the PC is a bit sharper or has better ray tracing.

@ Huh?
@4070ti obliterates the PS5
@@user-jr7bb6g9ev I didn’t say my Pro was more powerful. I just enjoy it more…..🧐
@@jamiecrutchley3550 You did, convenience is a good reason but saying a 4070ti struggles compared to ps5 pro is trash information for anyone who wants to know better
I am playing FF7 Rebirth on PC (currently 50hrs in) and it's perfect. The stutters are known to stop after Chapter 1. SpiderMan 2 also has had multiple patches since launch and is now running much better. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is incredibly optimized on PC btw.
I'll be real man, I don't think you will like any platform entirely. It's best to just play all of them, or pick one and deal with the BS. You yourself noted how much more expensive the console ecosystem is, but if stutters are a deal breaker than so be it.
this is why steam is making its software for more console like function to make console that has all pc settings customizations like graphics settings and control remapping to make kb/m only games work from a controller valve is working towards this this is why steam decks exist it annoys me you cant turn off some settings on console game to be able make it run better and be less blurry grainy or distorted
PSN is down and we are not able to play on ps.
Yeah and this crap sucks too... Kinda got me worried here on what's going on with the servers

No issues with playing my PS5 pro today, just put the disc in and play the game... No issues with my rtx 5080 PC either, or my xbox series x or Nintendo Switch.... Steamdeck is great too.
Typical Sony PC ports.

Good afternoon I'm sorry, my knowledge of the language limits me enough to understand the conclusion. Right now I'm choosing between the slim and the pro. I would appreciate your advice. And yes, I come from play3 😅

@MajorBen yes, it has. go for the pro then. thanks my friend.
I a playing Witcher 3 on ps5 pro. Not a single stutter and I am over 10 hours. I remember playing it in my ps5 when this Game got 60 fps patch, but there are stutters there. Same for silent hill 2. Runs like a charm on ps5 pro but I initially beat the Game in ps5 but there were sections where it stuttered a lot. Ps5 pro is brilliant
You do you, man, and enjoy your games. But I dont notice a 10 frame drop from 120 to 110 in FF7 rebirth enough for me to get it on the PS5 and play the inferior version. Do feel bad for the Spiderman fans, though, but I never got into the series. So I can feel you there.
That is a shame that you and some others are having bad experiences with Rebirth and Spider-Man 2 on PC. I cannot speak about the latter, but Rebirth I have been getting 80-120fps with no issues and am running it on a 2080Ti. I only do 1080p though because I prefer high fps over higher resolution (and my monitor is 1080p 240Hz).
I hope you can still get use out of your PC for the many other games that run better there.
@nddugas he doesn't want want 1080p gaming... he wants to play @ much more resolution and lock framerate.... 60fps is enough for him and PS5 Pro deliver it to Him on playing the FF7 REBIRTH..

So it's the machine that's responsible for bad ports. ok. This is why I say PC is closed
As someone who was more of a PC gamer at 13 years old when we only had Cats/Dog's and the Sim's. Playstation is wayy better I have only ever had one ps3 controller break on me, not like Sh!tty Xbos where you always have an issue or you gotta buy a rechargeable battery pack. PS3 Online Play was FREE, Sony made all the right decisions they picked blu-ray over HD. Ps4 / 5 work amazing as media players/Blu ray players/ Music Players and it definately feels better buying something with a case that you can re-sell
thats your opinion, for gaming sales they are actually pretty 50/50 from the data, which dosen't look good on the playstation because GUESS WHAT, PC can do everything not just game shall we talk about how great pcs are since you can do a million things better, its why the gap has bridged and is going in favour of pc, people just don't wanna play on one monitor anymore and it was the same when the ps5 come out it was a good sell next to a pc then as more hardware launched it dropped off till the ps5 pro come
the main difference between PC and Console gaming is that PC Gaming is going up while Console Gaming is going in the wrong direction
Sony made bluray, PS3 was probably best console ever but now they make slop
Not had a problem with any of them games on my PC
Stuttering sounds like u using metal or some type of clipping software.
Ben good to admit when you’re wrong 👍🏻, also great to put yourself out there and be honest! I honor and admire that good job bro!, ,, As said before computers are complicated to me get them just right ! All we need to see the awesome abilities of the Pro is a good 4k tv or monitor and power! 😂 to me the PlayStation platform is the only thing you need not just for gaming but entertainment also from movies to social interaction and Vr , which is awesome and truly separates itself from all other Consoles,so it takes care of everything, now with the aaa games coming from XBox it’s really all you need!

Exactly. I ended up not selling my PC after buying the Pro just as a reminder of all problem pc gaming today bring. Because If I sell my pc today, I will end up buying and building another pc. And that is not cheap.
Also Hogwarts Legacy is a better experience on Pro, not only for stuttering and crashing and faster loading timers, but graphically speaking too.
PC version does not offer the same ray tracing reflections quality and suffer from denoising problems not present on PS5. Look at characters hair for example.
PS5 version also has better GI illumination.
Wukong and Space Marine 2. Same thing: is a stutter mess on pc.
Only one game made me think “oh this is better on pc”: Alan Wake 2
Add on top better hdr and audio on Pro.

Stalker 2 is a good example . Runs great on my Xbox X , on a VRR monitor . Smooth and looks great . The PC version non stop problems . The fact is the manufacturers and developers have a set hardware set to deal with . Same for future games , they are using the next gen consoles for developing future games
The PC version of STALKER 2 is better optimized than the console one... What are you on about?
nah Stlaker 2 can be exused cause ofthe situation it has been and even tho it has issues we bought it
Regardless of the excuse they have for optimization, because they were busy trying not to die, when the performance is either worse or similar on Series X, except that, what on PC is a small stutter, on Series X is a full 6 seconds (again, 6 F*CKING SECONDS) of the game completely freezing, then I have a problem when I see someone saying this game is worse on PC.
Other than that, they share the same bugs, so the Series X version was, and still is, definitely worse than the PC version, which makes sense because the devs are used to working on PC games. We are talking many PC exclusives. In fact, STALKER as a franchise is new on consoles. The original trilogy just came out on consoles too. This reminds me of Baldur's Gate 3, when PS5 players said that the PS5 port was better because the PC version had drops to the low 30s with a Ryzen 3600 during act 3 on the city, when the PS5 version had the same drops to the low 20s, like... what?
Exactly the opposite for me. Runs much better on my PC than on my XSX.
Console games crash alot more than they used too. The advantage of consoles should be frame consistency and not having to mess with settings. I had a PS5 and sold it for PC and even with my 14900k and 4090 pc games have issues, its a trade off. What Id like to see on consoles support is super wide monitors. I will keep my xbox for gamepass ultimate that allows me console and pc use. I will revisit PS5 Pro possible purchase once GTA 6 comes out. I agree I hate frame rate drops and latency.
Personally I thinking about just going PC but again I'm not spending over thousands of dollars just to do so. I'm probably gonna build a $500 to $600 one just to game at 1080p with some 1440p at moderate fps types like 60 to 90fps. . Honestly I don't care about having to play games at insane fps or native 4k or ray tracing /path tracing. Especially when a lot of modern AI GPU 's are just adding generated fps to their games. I'm also super casual and an expensive PC would just be an overkill at most for me.
well PC will allways evolve while Consoles can't evolve a lot more cause sure from PS1 to PS2 and from PS3 to PS4 the jumo was huge but from PS4 to PS5 or even the Pro the upgrade was minor and as we can see now 3rd party and even Sony are avoiding PSSR cause it has issues and sure over time it will get better but by that time Consoles may get irrelevant compared to Phones/Handhelds/PC's cause PC market is going up while Console market isn't and we see that with games avoiding Exclusivity more and more
Which in turns better optimization
Unfortunately these days you have to have every console and a PC and just pick the platform where the game runs well... as far as day 1 games consoles also have crap running games if you just look at Digital foundry videos which sometimes you can just brute force on PC with top end hardware so id have to disagree with your statement "everything just works on console".
But then almost no game runs well on consoles, and if we are talking about PS5, they would overpriced on top of that. What you have to do is not support poorly optimized games.
nonsense FF Reb was bad on PS and even the Pro and on PC its a bit better but it still has the same issues as it did on the PS5 and its yt not available on Xbox
Question for the 40 people who disliked this video. Where did he tell a lie?
Can you play your PlayStation games today? Cus i hear psn is down ?

PS5 Pro is too expencive. I play in 1080p, so I don't need a RTX4090, or any expencive PC. Upscaling sucks, and gay tracing.
I'm in the same boat ,just give me decent 1080p 60fps or more without the stupid bloat and extra expenses . Honestly I'm really starting to think that the majority of these PC gamers claiming that they all have 4090s are just either trolling or are Nvidia marketing bot accounts just hype anything by Nvidia at this point. Also I've gotta wonder how many of these so called 4090 guys are even using their PCs directly for machine learn ,a.i graphics and content building outside of gaming??? It's like buying a Tomcat just to dig a 1ft deep hole in your yard just to garden when in reality all you need is a damn shovel!
the advantages of pc isn't just in games itself, to be able to do multi tasks at same time will gaming with multiple screens is a sell in itself, its nice to put a youtube video when im gaming or some music on etc, you dont have that luxury with a ps5 pro and the stupid fee you have to pay each year for psn, if ps5 pro is abit cheaper than equvilent pc and some games run better, the cons are to many for myself
On top of that is the multiple option of games from older consoles. I have an old gaming pc but i don't game that much, but when i do, i like to be able to just jump from playing Halo on steam to playing Mario Kart Double Dash from the Game Cube emulator.
PC IS STILL KING

I need to answer to this. I bought my ps5 pro and playing wukong in balanced mode. It takes few days to adjust to 40fps and I wish I bought a PC but I listened to people how great ps5 pro is...😅 well there are still drops under 30 fps in wukong even on balanced mode. I hope new games will be better on the pro...
Wukong probably isn’t the best representation of what the Pro can do imo. It was Game Science’s first AAA game ever so it runs pretty rough. But that’s not the hardwares fault. Game Science just isn’t very experienced with optimization yet.
I got the Pro... Wukongs default is performance mode which is always around 60 so if you have a vrr tv/display it's butter and looks great. I would get off balanced mode, it's not worth it with that one.
@Tret219 lol it is 30 with frame gen its worse than balanced
Should've bought PC for that money, and Xbox is the only console prioritizing enhancements like that you're taking a gamble investing further into PS5
