got my pro for 399.99 from amazon well worth it for pssr double ray tracing power 2tb storage faster download & install games but 8k is not needed why not add a different feature instead the 8k should of bin for ps6 gaming tech
Exactly. Cus these days feels like we're living the end of days. I'm enjoying my pro ❤! China quad-demic 2025 gonna wreck havoc! Than we got the next Super Great Depression just around the corner.
Honestly not to pretend like I'm a "baller", but if you are that concerned about the cost of the PRO and keep asking people if you should buy it or not, then that is your answer, don't buy it. Buying a gaming console or TV isn't something that should require such heart burn, mental gymnastics and "fear". Either you want it and can afford it or you don't. If you are happy with your PS5 then keep it, if you aren't a Pro isn't going to change your opinion. If you don't have a PS5 and a Pro is only a couple of hundred more, get the Pro for the Extra Storage. I would say get an Xbox Series X and Gamepass over a PS any day of the week. But I've been on both Platforms for 20 years so it's too late for me to change.
You spoke the truth. I think the issue with the pro is everyone is expecting it to be this game changing device especially for the price. When it's just a more powerful PS5.
This is a dumbass comment. Its not about worrying if you have the money or not its about getting educated opinions to know if the purchase is worth the upgrade and not just a gimmick. Anyone can save 700 bucks in 5 months and buy it.
Buying a console to pretend you're a baller is like painting racing stripes on a Prius. PS5 Pro should be purchased for one reason and one reason only: to play GTA6 on release day because it will not be on PC until later.
As a creator you're doomed if you say its worth it and doomed if you say its a waste of money. I don't understand why people need validation of their opinions reflected on the internet. With the amount of information thats available for any product it depends on you if you find the Pro worth it or not. For me its not worth it but for someone else who isnt happy with their PS5 capabilities than the Pro offers a solution. Nothing wrong with that. Buy what you feel is worth it for you and enjoy.
yep. It was worth it for me. As a huge FF fan, FF7 rebirth was a significant upgrade in performance and visual quality. Stellar Blade, too. More games are going to struggle on the base PS such as GTA6, so the value and argument for the console only increases. Also nice to get the 2TB internal storage. The pro has always been for PlayStation enthusiasts. Having said that, most don’t “need” it and will be fine with base one. I get that. The lack of a disk drive is also inexcusable.
Damn I'm stuck because honestly I would be good with just a slim...but I know that after I get the slim I'm gonna say damn I could have picked up 3 or 4 more shifts and bought the pro.
Well obviously people want a person that is more educated about the ps5 pro to explain to them the difference. Its 700 bucks people want to know if the difference is big enough to justify it. Your comment makes no sense.
No built-in disc drive and external drives are still sold out with no restock in sight. I'm giving Sony one more chance with the PS6. If it's the same shit show, I'm done.
@@UFCWWE69same on a pre-built for 1200 but i got a warranty for 2 years for 100 more. So i imagine that 1200-700 isnt bad for me being able to play ps5, xsx, Nintendo,pc games all in one and production and i can just upgrade....it really is a steal.
It’s more of a 25% performance boost, for +100% more money. And that would have been ok, if PS 5 and PS 5 pro were released simultaneously, like Xbox series x(s). BUT, it’s not same generation, it’s 4 years later. Anyone, who is buying PS 5 pro is tarded fanboy.
plus 1 clown who hasn't realized yet that he'll need one to play GTA6 when it releases because it will look like a MS Powerpoint slideshow on the base console. Enjoy your 30fps.
I think the PS5 Pro is a good product, but I think it's priced (and marketed) towards a pretty narrow high-end gamer archetype. I think it's worth it if: - You care about image quality and frame rate more than the average user - You already have a decent TV/screen (preferrably a large-screen OLED/QLED or a large projector setup) - You don't want to get into doing a PC setup and/or your gaming library is already on Playstation - You are playing games that have been enhanced for Pro (either by an update or that have an unlocked frame rate or dynamic resolution already) If you tick all of those boxes, I think the PS5 Pro is a great (but also pretty expensive) console. It's still cheaper than PCs in the same general power level, but still not a cheap product.
One thing people don’t realize is the pro carries a 2tb memory that’s where the price? Is and not so much the system itself yes the SSD card are starting to go down in price but until that happens it is what it is
You're a very lucky man. In my country a PS5 Pro costs 850 euros and you have to buy a disk drive for 160 euros, which equals 1700 Australian dollars. For that money we can build an RTX 4070 computer.
It's bad just because Cerny promised we "don't have to choose between fidelity and performance mode anymore", instead we now have tons of graphical settings, and many of those are just bad. If I wanted that I would get PC. I do own Pro.
well its not mark cerny who makes these games and hes not gonna restrict developers so thats a stupid fucking point. No matter the power available you could always push it to have a 'quality' mode. The idea was base ps5's quality mode but 60 fps and for the most part it's there.
@@VC777 yes, he can. If he sets his preference for performance in the system settings, the performance options will be selected by default unless he changes them. With Pro, he just gets better visuals in said performance mode. Said performance mode will look better on Pro than it does on base PS5. Promise fulfilled.
A couple of comments on my experience with the ps5 pro. 1. After you play a game that's ps5 pro enhanced, going back to one that's not seems last gen. You get used to sharp graphics AND high frame rate. 2. I currently have 9 games downloaded and still have half my storage left. Before I would have to delete one when I bought a new game The worst part is waiting for games that are enhanced to come out or get updated.
You also forgot about the price and no disc drive included. Those two things are quite big and can't be left out. I just bought one brand new for £599 which leaves me some extra money to buy the disc drive and stand, but I wouldn't have bought it at retail price.
It was worth every penny to me. The PS5 pro breathed new life into my PS5 library not to mention PS4 games that benefit from the image quality enhancement. Haters can kick rocks.
I’m struggling to justify mine , the ps4 upgrades are absolutely tiny sharper txt hmm or zoom in x5 and u may see less jaggies, some ps5 upgrades are nice sure but not enough and not good enough to justify £800 if u want a disc drive like I did.
Yeah. And while $700 (or $1000, or whatever the regional price of a PS5 Pro ends up being) is a lot of money, if you ever get into music production or photography and you'll probably end up paying way more for a really cool guitar or a nice camera lens. Do you need that dope guitar you just ordered? No. Do you *want* that dope guitar? ...Yes.
Hobbies are definitely not a waste of money. Hobbies can provide you with so many different things. Most moguls and CEOs have hobbies to keep them well rounded.
@@trupoet089 If you don't have hobbies, even if it's just one, you'll go nuts. You waste your time doing anything in life, it's about trying to enjoy the time that you're wasting while you're here! And hobbies provide entertainment, bliss, joy and happyness. I can't imagine living my life without music, movies, video games, drawing, writing etc etc. Stuff like that makes the world feel like a more magical place, especially when you're a child. When that level of wonderment is on a completely different level. Ah, to be even 7 again back in the late 80's/early 90's, just for a while again, would be amazing. :P
If one owns a large screen TV, I own a 77” OLED the Pro is worth it if you’re a fan of Sonys games. I have no regrets upgrading to the Pro. Helldivers 2 was just updated, going from 1080p to 1440p makes a big difference in clarity. Disagree on your opinion on HFW, there’s a massive difference in high frequency texture sharpness, it’s a huge improvement on the Pro. Lightning and post processing runs at a higher resolution.
@@cun7us all his TVs are 65 inch. He is not going to notice resolution upgrades like the people that own a 77 inch 83 inch or higher TV. People do not understand TV size to resolution ratio.
initially, I felt ripped off but it has grown on me over time. I'm liking the pro alot more now since I can actually notice significant differences in some games that I've already played and having the ability to disable pssr can actually get some of these titles to run @ 120fps which is pretty cool. However, you really do need a gaming tv/monitor otherwise forget about it and after having sold my base ps5, it would have been pretty stupid of me not to upgrade. The only thing left now is to try some new games
I've heard from more than one source: they need to end support for the PS4. No new games for it. That way, they can stop using resources to make games cross gen and just focus on getting as much out of the PS5 as possible. For now, I can tell a difference between my new digital slim plain PS5 and PS4 pro, but the difference is negligible. I got the PS5 on sale and have a small library of PS+ games for PS5 that they did not make available for the PS4. So, I got that going for me.
The only thing that would make me want to probably consider getting the Pro is if they added Dolby Vision for physical media playback. I use my PS5 to watch physical media because streaming services are riddled with ads and movies going in and out every month.
After sometime with my Pro, I can honestly say it's not worth the upgrade if you're happy with your current PS5. PSSR is still in its early days and it shows. Compared to DLSS, PSSR needs more time to cook. Hopefully by PS6 it'll be better.
Been enjoying mine since launch. Like the PS4 Pro, I enjoy the added features when available and enjoy boost any time a dev decides to take advantage of the hardware. I will say that unless you have a proper tv that can truly show off the visual bumps, id say hold off on it. I bought a S90D in October specifically for the PS5 Pro and it has been amazing.
PS5 PRO WAS A SCAM I WENT PC AND THERE IS NO COMPARISON AS MY BROTHER WENT PRO AND REGRETS IT 1800P SUB 60🤔IN ALOT OF GAMES MEANWHILE I GET 120+ ON OLED🙂
I’ve felt like it was a waste coming from a a launch model ps5. I love the console and the performance but I only really notice it in games like ff7 rebirth. Alan wake 2 and dynasty warriors origins. Other than that there’s not a major difference in ps games. I expect PlayStation to step it up with gta 6, ghosts of yotei and any other future games.
I bought one. Its for someone that wants the best quality. Its for the hardcore gamer. Most won't care or notice the difference, I game on a 85inch and see the improments. Games like Crew Motorfest, it makes a huge difference, RE4 will run above 100fps and GT7 will run nearly locked to 120fps. Is it worth the price? no. Wait for the price to drop another 100bux. for 700, it should've came with a disk drive. Hoping pssr updates will allow GTA6 to run at 60fps.
oh ok so old gamesss so you paid that for low quality remasters like who are you trying to convince we seen every game broken down it's a pathetic result
I also bought one because 1 want the best possible performance. Tbh i cant see really the difference, but i have only played the last of us part 1 so far. Maybe other games i will be able to tell the difference
@@overheatedeskim054 your comment is a pathetic result of you not doing your homework properly. There are plenty of games that take advantage of the pro power. (FF REBIRTH)
@ruudgroen7564 And you'll be way behind again like you are now when the PS6 PRO comes out..if you are too cheap just always go for the PRO..no reason to get suckered in on a Base model..plus you can walk in anywhere and get a PRO day 1..
They may look better, that doesn't make it worth the price for most consumers. Some consumers that have the best tvs and need the best tech yes it's worth it. Anyone with a 1080p tv not worth it Anyone with a tv that doesn't have 120 hz not worth it. Anyone where the $300+ it would cost to trade in your PS5 base and upgrade is a lot of money to them, it isn't worth it.
Uh the enhanced ray tracing and some 60 fps modes look great on normal TVs, you don’t need a 120fps TV at all. That being said, most third party games don’t support Ray tracing + 60fps even on the Pro
"Wu Kong, Alan Wake 2, Space Marine 2, Silent Hill 2, FFVII Rebirth, GT7, Lies of P all look WAY better on PRO. Yes, it is worth it. 100%"-@KalinhoPL 😂😂😂Rebirth yes. Alan wake 2 and silent hill 2 definitely not. They even had to downgrade silent hill 2 in the pro patch update because the pssr made the game look terrible. Ps5 pro is not worth the price of 2 standard ps5 consoles😂. You can pretty much buy 2 normal ps5 consoles for the price of one ps5 pro. Definitely not double the value or quality. It's not even as much of an upgrade as the ps4 pro was to the base ps4 and even the ps4 pro wasn't twice the price of the ps4, nor was the Xbox one x double the price of the Xbox one s or xbox one at the time of its release. The one x made sense. The ps4 pro made sense. Ps5 pro is definitely not worth the money. It's Sony doing an apple and taking advantage of fan loyalty with upgrades so small they are hard to detect in most side by side comparisons. Sorry to be that guy. The main thing is that you enjoy your purchase. We're not all built the same. Personally on principle if I bought something and it wasn't a big enough upgrade I'd take it back. When I bought the ps5 remastered version of uncharted 4 and lost legacy even though it only cost me £15 brand new I still took it back because it didn't look a big enough upgrade over the original version I have for my ps4 pro. Also when I've downloaded patch updates for games on my xbox one x that came in at whopping patch update sizes whenever I didn't see what changes the upgrades made I deleted the games and reinstalled running the basic version to get back the wasted space. See where I'm going with this? On principle I don't like the idea of being robbed be it money or hardrive space if there are no visible differences to my games with those upgrades to justify the sacrifice.
Thank you for the video, I've had my Pro for 1.5 months now, can't wait to see DS2 & Yōtei since they were developed with this version, they should look awesome
I had stripped the SSD Screw on my PS5 and I got tired of trying to manage HD Space and 4TB SSDs were so cheap (I picked up one for $175), for the extra storage it was worth the Upgrade. Especially since I had so much Store and Credit Card Points. So it's good for my ridiculously large Backlog that I plan on finally playing someday. But honestly most of my gaming this year and probably multiplat purchases (because of play anywhere) will be on my Xbox. I wanted to return it, but its such a hassle I just kept it. I've wasted money on dumber things in my life. Buying this thing isn't going to bankrupt me. Considering I'm keeping it for 5 yrs, eh.
I have had it since launch day and upgraded from PS5. I can say it’s a waste atm BUT, once it picks up. It will make the purchase worth it. Wait too long though, might as well wait for the PS6. This thing is a double edged sword.
I had the pro pre ordered and cancelled at the last minute and I’m very glad that I did. I’ve never bought a pro model before and I personally don’t care about how many reflections or ripples in the water or fabric on characters ect difference that it makes over the Slim that I have now. I’ll look forward to seeing these features on the PS6. I’ll use the extra $1000 dollars towards the 83” G5 this year.
Yeah definitely upgrade your display First to future proof it! I would have got the pro myself but not at that asking price. No Thanks. Not a fan of these "Pro" revisions but this generation had me hold off on getting the original 5 until the slim dropped in 2023. Those scalpers really did a number on the price at launch. and for a few years after that.
@ not really a huge deal to me. I played everything on my launch PS4 1080P all the way until the PS5 came out so I can wait until the 6 is out in a few years.
@@Lozin80 And I played Atari in the 80's lol. Just because we used outdated and underpowered hardware even at it's time doesn't mean the technical specs - which are now decades old are acceptable. Sorry but I have standards and 30fps is laughably not part of them.
I recently got an update that upgraded me to webOS 24 for my LG G2 which introduced LG Personalised Picture Wizard, Ai Deep Learning and the picture quality is fantastic and really sharp. Currently, I’m replaying The Last of Us Part 2 Remake on PS5 and I swear the Ai is doing some stuff behind the scenes to essentially remaster the game for free.
@ I have Game Optimiser turned on along with LG’s Personalised Picture (Cool & Vivid). I should note that LG TV’s must have at least α8 AI Processor or the Alpha 9 AI Processor Gen7. If your TV doesn’t have those processors then you can’t do it.
@@Deccani The TV doesn’t need to be colour accurate because I use my TV for gaming. The only time I need a professional colour accurate display is if I was a photographer or video editor getting paid hourly while being at home.
In my experience, having owned the PS5 Pro since launch, Sony would have been better targeting 60 fps with higher graphics settings; not ray-tracing but things like improved level of detail transitions, better shadows, etc which would be more obvious improvements. In most PS5 Pro enhanced games we just get the same quality visuals as the PS5's Quality mode but at 60 fps while the 30 fps Fidelity / Quality mode goes mostly unchanged. This means that games like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Pro might have noticeably better image quality at 60 fps than the base system but the game still has pathetically short shadow cascade draw distances and very obvious LOD pop in which can be more distracting than the odd performance mode where the blurry image at least hid these issues to a degree! Honestly, the PC version cannot come soon enough as at least those issues can be modded using INI tweaks if the game itself doesn't have options to do so as it is using Unreal Engine 4.27. Overall, I'm happy with my Pro, especially now developers are fixing the poor PSSR implementations in the original Pro patches - Alan Wake 2 now looks better, Ubisoft have mostly fixed Star Wars: Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and a patch to fix the infamous Star Wars Jedi: Survivor apparently dropped yesterday so I look forward to checking that out later today.
Would never buy a ps5 pro with the product design and what sony offers for this system, for example there is no disk drive and need to buy separately and no stand need to buy as an add on. Just ridiculous and Sony lost a lot of money over this product offering, again because of greed and poor product offering🎉
I just hate the ps5 pro hater. Not because its the best deal or the best console. Just because the "hate" comments are just stupid. Everyone is acting like its a PS6, necessary to buy, necessary to play the newest game. But its literally called Pro. The same thing but a bit better. When people are complaining that they dont "see" a improvement while watching a freaking 1080p TH-cam video on a Samsung TV from 2012. And the disc drive.... I mean its like the slim. Its just optional and thats it. The only thing that annoys me is that there is no restock and we have to buy the vertical stand. This should be included. Not a freaking 100$ disc drive.
I wasn't going to get the PS5 Pro right away but then i started thinking, I could sell my slim. I got the PS5 at launch, then took advantage of the gamestop trade in deal when the PS5 Slim launched so i got that. Then in December, there was a deal for the PS5 Pro at $649. I started thinking so i said f it. I got the PS5 Pro for $50 less. I took the disc drive and stand out of my PS5 Slim and installed them on the Pro. I sold my PS5 Slim as a digital version for $340. I probably couldve sold it for more but Sony dropped the price of the PS5 Slim digital for the holidays. Also, I took advantage of 10% cash back on the PS5 Pro purchase via Paypal and my credit card. I ended up selling my launch Gray Switch (switch 2 is coming out) for $180 and a "new" 2ds xl I had unused for $200. The PS5 Pro ended up being paid for and then some. I have a 55S90D so I wanted to play PS5 at the best and highest level available, and thats with the Pro. Id recommend if you have a PS5 Slim Disc version, you could offset the price of the PS5 Pro by taking out the disc drive and selling it as a digital PS5 Slim.
I don't understand why people don't get that. Just sale the regular ps5 and offset it for the Pro. And you'll have the better Console with the latest tech, that can be updated. Thats without paying the full price. It's a win in my book💯
@@jerryhoward3287theres 3 types of people in the comment section, people say its not worth it becsuse either one they cant afford it, or they are PC hardcore fanboys, so no matter what you say, you can never get through to them. or number 3, they are butthurt sony removed the disk drive, and stand and requires you to purchase it seperately. I have never used the disk drive or stand once in my life so i could care less. my ps5 pro blows my $1600 pc out of the water (RTX 4060 ti). I paid $0 for my ps5 pro per gamestop trade in promo and still had $60 left on my giftcard
I really do want to upgrade but I just don't see any benefits for the investment. Especially if PS6 is due in 2028. Which will probably be another $700 if not slightly more money. I'd rather just buy Switch 2 and a decent PC.
I upgraded. Traded in the old PS5 for decent value. But for sure the PS5 pro is a waste of money. And I'm starting to really dislike all the software fake frame baloney (dlss, pssr, etc scam), in replacement of actual hardware improvement. Nvidia taking that to all new levels soon with the 50 series, pay out the nose for driver improvement!
the next sony games will be better optimized on the pro. There are games that look better with PSSR, but unfortunately all Unreal Enmgine 5 Games look bad with PSSR!
All I ever asked out of the Pro as far back as 2022 was to have quality modes at 60 fps with RT and they literally marketed it as such and delivered. Can’t be more happy with it.
In my opinion ps5 pro is waste of money. For 850 euro its better to put 500 more and get decent PC with rtx 4070 for example or better if u find gpu for better price.
Well, Sony just confirmed they cancelled 9 PS5 games that would have been PS5 Pro enhanced. Where are the games? How long are you willing to wait? Do you expect Third Party games to fully utilize the tech when even Sony themselves aren't? If you ask me, I sold my Ps5 Pro to a friend and invested in a PC instead. I get the Best of Ps5 on PC. Im glad i did because Sony wont be releasing any note worthy First Party games for years. Done with Sony.
I love that you are keeping it real, Some places that do pixel peeping acting like this is the most important thing in the world, but the reality is people notice the difference when its FF7 Rebirth bad (in terms of resolution on performance mode of base PS5). I believe in PSSR that will continue to get better, and it may be reason that you can extend the life of this device in case PS6 is impossible to get again. I enjoy some boosts of the Pro and some games like FF7 Rebirth and Warhammer 40k that have big difference. But either way we probably going to see more of what the PSSR can do with new games (since old games stop development and people don't want to put effort or money to make it better, unless they are motivated by sales)
The ps5 pro at this date is not worth the price. The ps5 pro a year from now will have more value (game combo, disk drive included, bigger library of new games for pro features).
Ask in a year or so. It's still to soon to ask this question. We still have no new games that do anything with the pro. It does make older games that didn't run at full cap fps to full 30 or 60 fps.
I had full intent of buying one, and a listed my base PS5 on marketplace a few weeks before Christmas. Because of the holiday deals on new base PS5s, I was having a hard time getting my unit move at the price point I wanted to get. Because of that, it took longer than I expected and I didn't want to buy the pro until I had the money from the base sale. In the interim, I started watching more videos about the pro. Man, I feel like that couple weeks allowed me to completely dodge a bullet and not wasting my money. I already knew that it was a high price tag, and I knew that it didn't come with a disk drive, etc. I had made my peace with that it was still going to purchase. But when I started seeing videos about certain games actually looking WORSE than the base version, That's when I finally realized how much of a rip this thing is, at least at this point while developers still haven't figured out how to completely utilize PSSR and optimize the games. Maybe in a couple years that will have changed, or the price will have come down. But by that point, the PS6 will probably be out. Hard pass on the pro.
We've hit diminishing returns, last generations still going on and honestly looks decent enough. With playstation 5 base version and series x they have done next to nothing with them .
If you don’t own a 4K, minimum 65”, 120hz, HDR, VRR TV there is no reason to get a Pro. You need to get the TV first or you are throwing money out the window for nothing.
C'mon man - there's only one reason to buy the PS5 Pro: To play GTA6 when it releases and not have it look like a Powerpoint slide show in 30fps. That's it. End of story. Now back to PC I go.
Here's what most of these reviews are not telling you. If you upgrade from PS5 to PS5 Pro, you won't really notice a big difference in graphics or performance unless you have a TV/monitor that takes advantage of the features PS5 Pro offers. You need a 4K with HDR , variable refresh rate and at least 120hz. OLED is really the way to go. I upgraded from PS5 to PS5 Pro, but I also upgrade my TV from a 4K UHD to a 4K OLED with all the above mentioned features. The difference is jaw dropping. I have absolutely no buyers remorse whatsoever. It really comes down to 2 basic questions. 1) Do you enjoy gorgeous graphical fidelity and performance.? And 2) Do you have an extra $800 lying around that you don't mind parting with?
I transitioned from the original PS5 to the PS5 Pro, and I find it to be well worth it. However, I have to admit that I play my Series X more often, primarily because I have Call of Duty on the Xbox along with a few other games I'm currently playing.
I would say it depends on how your pockets will feel. If you can easily shell out the money, go for it, if you're going to nag and complain about spending the money, then wait because it should be an easy buy.
For Horizon games, even though the standing still render is similar, in motion - like when spinning the camera at speed, the Pro version retains detail, where the base console can get more 'blurred' in motion. I wish they left the option of the old unlocked mode too! Naughty Dog retain the old modes as well and new Pro modes.
Gaming just sucks now and its really a waste of money and time. I'm also old now, so that probably doesn't apply to most people. I still follow videos for the love of tech.
To me it's a big no. This thing is VERY expensive where i live, 7K reais (which is equivalent to a bit more than 1K US dollars), not including the detachable disc drive, in Brazil. I don't see any advantage in buying a console that will be replaced by a new one in 3 years. Might as well save the money for a PS6
That's way too expensive for you there! I got mine for $ 800 in Dubai, still expensive but cheaper than in your country, if you have the patience to wait, go for the playstation 6 in a few more years.
Meh.. I got a pro and I thoroughly enjoy it.. but that’s just me.. and to add to that, it’s too soon.. devs haven’t fully taken advantage of it (they haven’t even maxed out the base ps5).. also, be responsible with your money, ppl.. love your video
It may not be worth the upgrade price now , but it will be in 1-2 years. I got a smashing deal from EB on trade ins and it only cost me $150 of real money. So no brainer there.
Honestly, I think save your money and upgrade your TV if you can. I was debating getting a PS5 Pro or replacing my LG C1 with the Sony A95L. After seeing some comparisons on TH-cam and Digital Foundry all I can say is I’m glad I decided to replace my TV instead. The difference is almost like a new console, the picture just looks so good now and no comparisons have changed my mind. Base PS5 will be fine until PS6.
@@ToxMod Thats not true. Any oled display would do. Screen size completely depends on how far you sit from your display. There isnt a set minimum screen size one should go for.
Life is too short for maybe, if you want a PS5 Pro you should get a PS5 Pro. But get a miniLED or OLED 4k 120hz TV first at the largest size possible atleast 55” ;If you can’t buy that then don’t buy a PS5 Pro
I bought one and I'm happy with it. Most first party games looks even better n runs even better. 😊too bad third party games still not knowledgeable to code for pro
The Pro is 670 in the UK. At that price it's worth it considering the specs. It would have been better with a 1tb drive and optical blu ray drive instead imo. My 2tb nvme drives are approximately 140 pounds alone for my PC.
You don't need a high tier TV to see that there 60fps instead of 30fps. And most of it depends on the devs themselves and to support that claim, you yourself say in the video that are games where PRO makes a lot of difference while there are games with little difference. Horizon does not use PSSR. Guerrilla games has their own tech for upscale in the DECIMA engine. That is why the base PS5 version looks amazing.
Happy I upgraded, finally best of both worlds quality and performance. At least in most games I play, sky is the limit for PSSR once the devs discover how to use its full potential.
I'm not a fan of these "Pro" consoles. For the simple fact that the devs still need to support the "original" models, hence holding back true efficient development. More dev work, more dev time wasted on a piece of software that was already realized & released. Never a good combo from a business stand point or a consumers. Point is, if you really are a graphics head go play on PC! Build the Biggest, fastest, most future proof machine if you want. It just doesn't make any financial sense to get a little graphical upgrade during these "Pro" revision cycles. Just wait for the PS6.
The pro is a very grey area. Those who like it will enjoy a handful of ps5/ps4 games with a slightly better sheen to them. Those who dislike find the system a complete rip off for a marginal upgrade and its flagship selling point was the PSSR which has given devs a lot of issues. Now they are giving us the option to turn it off. That’s like buying a performance car and having a sport mode that’s useless compared to the basic drive mode. I own a ps5 pro and currently on the fence about it. I don’t like or dislike the system. I only hope and prey by December this year they somehow get that PSSR running like it’s advertised.
@ sorry what point are trying to make exactly?. Do you have issues reading ? I’m not slating the console at all. Relax my friend. You’ll give yourself a heart attack.
No it's not. Not if the devs still have to support the Original box. But if your wallet can handle the minuscule upgrades, have at it. I see no point in "pro" cycles. They're just money grabs. I'll wait for the ps6
@youngslyy4516 Having the same hardware locked for 7 years is what's keeping the industry in place. You also have to upgrade the hardware if you want to innovate with software. It's because of this mid gen refresh that Sony was able to put PSSR and ML hardware on the PS5 Pro. If you'd waited another 4 years for that, it would have meant to keep it in beta for another extra 4 years till a PS6 mid gen refresh. If they want to add all those to the PS6 then this PS5 refresh is A MUST to test and iron everything out. Do you think that DLSS is where it is today from day 1?! No, it had YEARS of experimental releases and tests. What do you think the RTX 2xxx was ?! Beta test platforms..... Mid gen refreshes are a MUST no matter what you 'lack of knowledge - can't afford more than 1 console per 7 years' people think.
@ Trust me I can afford it. It's just not worth it. I'm not a PC gamer... so All these little "PSSR" "DLSS" blah blah nonsense is getting out of hand. I just wanna play games. Still have my ps3 and ps4. They serve their purpose for more than just gaming. That's not the point. You hit the nail on the head tho.... you're going to be BETA testing till the REAL hardware drops... which will be Next Generation. I'll wait for the kinks to be ironed out. There used to be jobs for beta game testers back in ps3 era. Now these companies drop unfinished products on you day 1. Then patch it later. Their now doing the same for the hardware. Except instead of you getting paid to BETA test, you're Paying THEM to iron out the rough edges 😅👌 Happy Gaming!
@youngslyy4516 Yes, that's the sad reality nowadays. But there is NOTHING that you or I can do. And yes, beta tests on global scale are a must and will make all the difference. 10 employed beta testers for games is not the same as an Early Access with millions of users that will find all the existing problems. As for the PS5 Pro. It's like this in every industry. You can wait....let others do the testing. You will have a better product when the PS5 launches. But don't come here and yell that the mid gen refreshes are not needed.
@Kushking_Kraven I'm confused, it's a reviewer of a product giving us real world experiences of said product so we as consumers can make an informed buying decision. In any event, have a great day!

The system seems to be much supported by free to play developers then actual AAA game devs. Final fantasy going to have its pc version soon. So if this console doesn't get the new features. Then what is this system made for?
I paid 600 in total for ps5 pro and disc drive. As new games come out it will gradually make more sense. By the end of this gen I think your really feel the difference
With the price of GPUs nowadays, consoles are the better option financially. $700 for the PS5 Pro, try possibly $3000 for the 5090. JUST 1 PIECE OF HARDWARE
The stats on it are a bunch of marketing bull. The GPU is 2.5 times more powerful yet it only gives like 10-25 fps depending on the game lol....and that's IF the developer even updates their game to run better on the PS5 pro. Consoles games are not like PC games where you can change the resolution on the fly and other graphical settings. The developer literally has to get involved to make a "ps5 pro" graphics option or unlock the FPS on their game so it runs faster with the newer hardware. This alone makes this a very hard purchase for anyone that already has a ps5. Waiting for developers to "port" their games graphics settings to the new ps6 pro hardware is just not a great experience. I will probably wait until the ps6 at this point. Watch videos comparing PSSR to not using it, its such a minor difference that I doubt anyone would really notice it. I think this is more a cash grab to be honest. Developers will continue to make games for base ps5 and they MIGHT include a ps5 pro graphic setting..
Even so still not worth it to pay $700 to dump your Original PS5, unless becomes 120 steady & 8k native.they only say and buy that like new TV or console for the views.cant blame them.
Value is subjective. Some individuals might perceive it as a lucrative investment opportunity, while others might not. That’s perfectly acceptable. The more significant aspect to focus on is the evolving landscape of AI-driven hardware and software trends in the gaming industry and their potential impact on the industry’s trajectory in the future.
A friend brought over the PS5 Pro to my media room. At the regular 8 foot seating distance, except for extra confetti in Ratchet and Clank and shinier buildings in Spider Man 2, I could not see a difference. It's not worth $700 USD. Also the base PS5 has not been maximized. Most gen 9 games are released with gen 8 ports which proves developers are still using last gen tech.
What's always funny to me is how there are people reviewing the PS5 Pro on TH-cam will say it may not be worth it yet, but still own it themselves😅. Like, if you don't think it's worth it, then return it and just keep playing your old system. Clearly, nearly you feel there's an advantage to having it or you'd return it or sell it. Regardless, it's all personal preference. People should just determine if it's worth it to them ultimately, and not rely on other people to tell them
Umm some people will not eat for a month or two if they go for a ps5 pro new gpu new tv etc so yes most people will look up all kinds of data reviews info etc..
I think that the Pro is something that you have to play yourself to appreciate. I have a 75 inch Mini LED TV and some of the games that I have played so far have been mind blowing to me tbh. But ymmv depending on the type of gamer that you are. The Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster is super clear and moves buttery smooth. Black Ops 6 runs super smooth. Alan Wake 2 looks goddamn amazing and runs so smooth! The price may be off putting to most but to me it's definitely worth it. I can't wait to see what the PS6 can do.
In my opinion, I’m happy with my ps5 slim. Games look great to me, and I’m not really a hardcore gamer. I’m more of a casual gamer that likes to play games for the story. I also don’t own a high end tv. It is a 4k 120fps vrr tv, but it’s only ips. I rather use the money to upgrade to a oled tv than a ps5 pro. I usually sit about 8 feet away from my tv, so I wouldn’t care about image quality. I would just wait for the ps6, because that would be a much bigger upgrade for me. And it will include all the features that the ps5 pro currently has (like pssr) plus, new features as well. Great video Markus! 👍
Its not a waste of money. Resident Evil 4 now runs at 4K@60 with everything on including the tay yracing. Every game looks better. Stellar Blade, every Resi game including RE0 i RE remaster. But the real showcase is Resident Evil 3, Last of Us and whatever U put in a Pro. If U cant see the difference blame your Tv.
I also thought Pro was waste of money. Today, I played my first game on it ( Star wars outlaw) and the experience imo is transformative. On PS5 The game looked blurry and unclear in 60 fps but responsive in Quality mode however it's crisp but @ 30 fps its way to laggy and kinda unresponsive and heavy. In Pro you get the same image quality of PS5 quality mode (even better) but at smooth 60 fps, this imo in some games is really transformative.
Space marine 2 was unplayable on ps5. Now on pro it’s running smoothly. For upcoming games it’s the best decision when have the right Oled 120hz VRR tv for it like me

I agree with @TerraWare

I think the PS5 Pro is a good product, but I think it's priced (and marketed) towards a pretty narrow high-end gamer archetype.
I think it's worth it if:
- You care about image quality and frame rate more than the average user
- You already have a decent TV/screen (preferrably a large-screen OLED/QLED or a large projector setup)
- You don't want to get into doing a PC setup and/or your gaming library is already on Playstation
- You are playing games that have been enhanced for Pro (either by an update or that have an unlocked frame rate or dynamic resolution already)
If you tick all of those boxes, I think the PS5 Pro is a great (but also pretty expensive) console. It's still cheaper than PCs in the same general power level, but still not a cheap product.
well that's why I got it..nice upgrade from a Switch too. I will play a few pro enhanced games. 2 currently. 2 at least will be released this year.
Fellow Aussie here. The disk drive is still difficult to obtain here.
For your US viewers, keep in mind that the retail prices have tax included.
I get your point with Cerny, but can you just set your preferred game preset on the system level so your issue is basically resolved?
Depends on the game. Some have the same amount of options, some have less, some have more. Devs are free to do it how they want to.
@@VC777 yes, he can. If he sets his preference for performance in the system settings, the performance options will be selected by default unless he changes them. Oh ya forgot to thank you for all your wonderful PRO clips that helped my decision
A couple of comments on my experience with the ps5 pro.
1. After you play a game that's ps5 pro enhanced, going back to one that's not seems last gen. You get used to sharp graphics AND high frame rate.
2. I currently have 9 games downloaded and still have half my storage left. Before I would have to delete one when I bought a new game
The worst part is waiting for games that are enhanced to come out or get updated.
Haters can kick rocks.

initially, I felt ripped off but it has grown on me over time.
I agree. It's up to the devs on how much they wanna polish the games up for the pro.
If you already have a PS5 then simply wait for the PS6. On the other hand, if you're from a PS4 series, and aiming for a PS5, then Pro is the go to.

But honestly most of my gaming this year and probably multiplat purchases (because of play anywhere) will be on my Xbox. I wanted to return it, but its such a hassle I just kept it.
U have processing on in game mode how?
@ I have Game Optimiser turned on along with LG’s Personalised Picture (Cool & Vivid). I should note that LG TV’s must have at least α8 AI Processor or the Alpha 9 AI Processor Gen7. If your TV doesn’t have those processors then you can’t do it.
@ this is something you have fooled yourself to believe because cool and vivid is VERY inaccurate
@@Deccani The TV doesn’t need to be colour accurate because I use my TV for gaming. The only time I need a professional colour accurate display is if I was a photographer or video editor getting paid hourly while being at home.
IMO Pro is a test by Sony to see... can they get away with asking for MORE MONEY!
You are a content creator so it makes sense for you to have one.
I rather spend $1K or a bit more and get a discounted 7900XTX or the new 9070XT and build a good PC; better than a PS6 lol.
In my opinion ps5 pro is waste of money. For 850 euro its better to put 500 more and get decent PC with rtx 4070 for example or better if u find gpu for better price.
Alot of people like me prefer consoles and wouldn't go near a pc as we simply don't like pc, I prefer dedicated games consoles.
Hard pass on the pro.
you made the right choice, by ps6 we will really appreciate the upgrade ^^
We've hit diminishing returns, last generations still going on and honestly looks decent enough. With playstation 5 base version and series x they have done next to nothing with them .
If you don’t own a 4K, minimum 65”, 120hz, HDR, VRR TV there is no reason to get a Pro.
You need to get the TV first or you are throwing money out the window for nothing.
C'mon man - there's only one reason to buy the PS5 Pro: To play GTA6 when it releases and not have it look like a Powerpoint slide show in 30fps. That's it. End of story. Now back to PC I go.
My freaking opinion is wait till PS6 comes out and start saving money from now and upgrade your Tv 🤘😎🤘
I'd only suggest someone consider if they don't have a ps5 to begin with.
Never ask a stranger such a question.
Bad way of going about purchases.
I barely notice a difference with my Pro, but I game a lot and PlayStation is my preferred platform so I want the best experience possible.
That's way too expensive for you
there!
@@simonuk1213 correct if you don’t have a 77 inch OLED or bigger you shouldn’t upgrade your console and instead upgrade your TV.
💯
The Pro is 670 in the UK. At that price it's worth it considering the specs. It would have been better with a 1tb drive and optical blu ray drive instead imo. My 2tb nvme drives are approximately 140 pounds alone for my PC.
That's without the disc drive though. With the disc drive you're talking £799 which is outrageous compared to the price of the base ps5.
Very true
Try playing the 99% of games that are benefitting greatly from PSSR instead of pretending only games like Avatar and Silent Hill 2 exist.
@ sorry what point are trying to make exactly?. Do you have issues reading ? I’m not slating the console at all. Relax my friend. You’ll give yourself a heart attack.
An upgrade is an upgrade and I love upgrades.
Being locked for 7 years with a console with no upgrades is beyond stupid.
Mid gen refresh is a must!
No it's not. Not if the devs still have to support the Original box. But if your wallet can handle the minuscule upgrades, have at it. I see no point in "pro" cycles. They're just money grabs. I'll wait for the ps6
@youngslyy4516
Having the same hardware locked for 7 years is what's keeping the industry in place.
Well this definitely solidified my decision not to buy the Pro. I'll be waiting for the PS6!
Thts you missing out I don't get ppl who form opinions from other ppl experiences smh
@Kushking_Kraven I'm confused, it's a reviewer of a product giving us real world experiences of said product so we as consumers can make an informed buying decision. In any event, have a great day!

I paid 600 in total for ps5 pro and disc drive. As new games come out it will gradually make more sense. By the end of this gen I think your really feel the difference
At that price. That console is a total scam.
I don't know where you got 2.5, cerny said 45% in the launch video which is about where it should be on spec.
Even so still not worth it to pay $700 to dump your Original PS5, unless becomes 120 steady & 8k native.they only say and buy that like new TV or console for the views.cant blame them.
The longer you own it the best value you get out of it. Hence my day 1 purchase
Buying a console definitely isn't something I'd consider as being a "lucrative investment opportunity" lmao. It's more the opposite.
Also, it's funny how you talk about AI since the second half of your comment comes across as though it's been AI generated 😂.
I sit around 3 meters from my CX 65 i see a very clear difference in quality with my ps5pro.
Should have checked games like alan wake 2, wukong, warhammer, stellar blade, ff7 rebirth. To check spiderman and ratchet and clank is hilarious 😂
@@GalvatronTypeR you couldn’t see the difference because you don’t have the right set up. That is all.
I'm pretty happy with mine. I just upgraded my entertainment center with a G4 and a S95TR soundbar system, so it really looks and sounds great now.
For upcoming games it’s the best decision when have the right Oled 120hz VRR tv for it like me
The pro is trash. Don’t waste your money if you have a ps5 already.
