260MLE is my favorite of the bunch here. Feel like a lot of these are just too big for two people, but I'm weird and I like 5th wheels around 30ft personally.
@@JoshtheRVNerd Ha, good to know I'm not the only one! What I really like about that 260MLE is that they give you all the "good" stuff in the smaller package. Nice sized shower? Check. W/D prep? Check. Full height wardrobe? Check. King size bed option? Check. Excellent counter space? Check. Coffee bar and full sized pantry? Check. **Ceiling fan???** Also check. It's crazy what they fit in there, and they still give you 2,000+lbs of cargo capacity! This is currently the number one floor plan on my short list right now for a full timing stint I have planned soon, and it's easy to see why!
“If that jelly ain’t your jam” and “memberberries”. You crack me up! All of those that you’ve shown are really nice. I couldn’t find one that I didn’t like. Each has great features, and they all are beautiful.
I gotta tell you, this Jayco Eagle 28.5 RSTS is fantastic. We bought ours in 2022 when it was an "HT". We've been from one end of the country (South Carolina) to Nevada, with plenty more trips planned and every time we walk into it, we just can't believe how much we love it!
Do a video on smaller fifth wheels 26 to 30 ft . For us no dinette is needed or if we have to have one make it a table for 2 , full queen bed works, nice bathroom or at least a decent sized shower . And winning lottery numbers so I can afford a new one ,lol
Some of the must haves for us are an attached ladder for roof and slide maintenance, theater seating, a “two way” fridge for off grid camping, no “Denny’s” diner booth dinette, no cheap plastic toilets or Dollar Store 4” fart fans and a true queen bed👍👍👍
Mostly I'm seeing those 12v reefers instead of the good, old, reliable "two-way' reefers. If I buy one of these under 30' 5ers it won't have any 12v or "residential" fridges.
I would love to see a Toy Hauler list, I am going to moving to FT living in the next 6 months or so due to work. I'll have to have a TH due to what I need to carry for work. Love your videos and your honest options on what to truly expect. I plan to travel for Houston to Coldwater to get my RV.
Being a 6'6" man myself, my pick of the litter is the Forest River Sabre 37FLH because of the front living, HUGE bathroom in the rear and lots of headroom. Only con about it is the small propane tanks but other than that it's perfect.
Thank you for this! We have been waiting for a video of top fifth wheels for couples, or a so-called ‘bunk house free zone’. All good choices with much to offer. Now I just have to upgrade our truck!
Forgive me Josh, this question is unrelated to the video at hand but I have spent a considerable amount of time on google and can't find the answer. Are there any industry stated numbers for what different types of RV's can handle for wind speeds while set up. We spent the weekend at a campground with pretty high winds, 25 mph sustained and gusts to 45 and at times it was pretty unsettling. Are there any industry standards as to when you should bring in slides for rigidity? Wind speed where higher damage is possible? When googling, most information defaults to while traveling or hurricane/tornado conditions. Appreciate all your work and any insight you may have.
No worries. Topic of question and video need not be related! I've never seen/heard of wind speed ratings for RVs nor best practices for things like slides. now you got me wondering...
❤ While my truck can’t tow these… those that have desks just might make it worth upgrading! 💙 If you get bored… I’d love to see a top 5 (or ?) of lighter shorter toy haulers.
2 months ago we just bought the 23 316RLS and absolutely love it. Kids all grown up and bought it for us. Cougar makes it look good inside and out. They do seem to have soft floor but as a 6'3" guy I'm comfortable besides the chairs. Those recliners are not meant for tall people but couch works fine for me. Keep up the great videos Josh you help so much!
@@JoshtheRVNerdya it's just beenlike I'm certain spots I feel like I step and it is like squishy, but again I should say I'm 6'3" and not your normal person so might be more me than the camper 😂
Thanks for your honest reviews. Your input definitely helped my wife and I on our camper journey. We recently purchased a Midnight Edition 290RLS and can't wait to pick it up in the coming week. I think it is perfect for a couple and gives the ability to bring the grandkids for some quality time.
We had a chance to look at the Cougar 260MLE in person about a month ago. We share the same enthusiasm of this unit as you. Had a hard time getting my wife to leave. We both appreciated the layout. Works great for us to snowbird in while working remotely. Ordered a F350 that goes into production next month and will definitely revisit it once the new truck arrives.
I enjoyed this video, so thank you for that. What I would love to see your list of truck campers, the ones that rest in the bed of a pick up truck and toy haulers
Love the idea - I'm just afraid I don't see enough to properly do a video like that justice I do have a truck camper playlist here with a handful I have been able to capture though: th-cam.com/video/kEa1ZMWkne4/w-d-xo.html
@@JoshtheRVNerd Thank you RV Nerd. I was thinking bigger, Lance, Northerlits for long bed pick up trucks for example but its okay. I still enjoy watching your intrduction to new products as they become available ☺
Thank you! How about a best 5 of real bunk/ 2 bedroom campers? Maybe a mix of Fifth and Bumper pull? We’re just torn on what to get, so many good choices. With a 2 yr and 4 yr old we need to close the door 😅.
Unsure on the kitchen slide. I've heard talks. Haven't seen it happen. Not sure the status Cougar CCC varies by model. Some are excellent. Some are light for sure
Gotta say Josh, the wife & I like the Paradigm 375RD & the Pinnacle 38FBRK. These two 5th wheels check off ALL the boxes on our list. Unfortunately, we'd have to upgrade our current older Dodge Cummins diesel truck to a larger unit to safely pull either.
Hey Josh, How about doing one with Fifth Wheels under 30 feet? And I am really surprised you didn't have anything made by Forest River on the list. But this is a great comparison and a great list. Thanks again, Pat
My all time favorite is the Solitude 345GK. Discontinued in 24, but maybe Grand Design will bring it back after this frame fiasco is behind them. Camp side windows, telework desk, counterspace on both sides of range, dishwasher prep, big shower, east/west bed, walk-in closet (sort of), all under 40 feet and maybe 3/4 ton towable. I don't know of any other floorplan like it, but if there is one that has a better frame, I would gladly upgrade to a 1-ton to tow it!
I'm 100% willing but not sure I've seen enough recently to really be able to say "these stuck out to me the most" They're just not something I get my hands on as often Super good idea.. Just not sure I have enough input to make the output
But Uncle Josh, you are! You are the ONLY guy that runs a camera and looks at RV'S!! 😊 You are the ONLY one that I would trust, you are also the ONLY one that's intelligent about these RV'S and other things as well!!! Hmm... I'll have to think on what might populate the list. My schedule is starting to get full up with MFGs releasing new things and inviting me for early looks but I'll see if I can find the time. I just dont' want to promise it and fall short on time
We are on our second year of having a Salem Hemisphere 286RL. We love it thus far, it's small enough we can get into most state parks but large enough if you get a couple rainy days, my spouse can find some space when I drive her nuts. 🤔🤔. My 2 gripes are, it has too low of cargo capacity, the new model is nearly identical but with lighter axles and 1K heavier cargo capacity. Doesn't make sense to me. Second gripe is the steps to the bedroom needs a handrail for us older folk with bad knees.
I'm happy to answer a few questions here but I'm not able to assist you in a direct sales capacity with my general duties and responsibilities Feel free to use one of my social links in the description and I'll do my best to assist!
Lippert is pretty much the only frame maker in almost all mainstream fifth wheel production. Only a handful of lower volume / niche builders do anything else
I have NOTHING but respect for what Northwood does and you'll see I speak quite highly of them when I get a chance to review a few (though it's been far too long). this list though focused on RVs I would personally consider owning. It's not a "best of the best" sort of thing. Northwood builds stuff beyond my more casual needs. They're definitely more "industry grade" by comparison

Interesting video but I don't consider 35 to 40 foot 5th wheels as being "couples models". 28 to 32 foot seems more like a couples model.
But there is more $$$$!!!! In the bigger ones. And guess who is selling--/
