I’m glad you mentioned about negative comments. Enough already. I’m with Patty - if it’s not for you - tune out. Life is very short. Enjoy your new rig. Safe and happy travels. Best of luck with the new ‘plan’. Things have a way of working out when it’s right. We will be checking out that dealership when we are ready for our next RV. 🥳 congratulations 🎉
Wisconsinite here, about an hour away from Kings Camper’s in Green Bay. I understand completely. I’ve lived longer than both of my parents, Mom was 57 and Dad was 62. When cancer comes a knocking it doesn’t care about your age. My wife has had similar experience with her parents also. We wintered in southern Alabama last year and loved it! Currently have a smaller TT and looking to get something a little bigger, possibly a 5th wheel. Have a F350 on order and been looking at new TT and 5th wheels even though our current truck and trailer are less then 3 years old. I worked swing shift my whole life and if we want to make changes and can make it happen, then it’s going to happen. It’s only money and life is too short. Best wishes on your future endeavors.
I liked your video. My wife had to talk me into getting an RV. I was not onboard. What swung me over was her saying we could travel more in a RV because we could have her special health requirements with us in an RV. She has two steel rods and six hooks that holds her spine straight. Due to that she has to sleep in a recliner. With an RV we were able to remove one couch and put in the top of the line Lazyboy recliner. She wanted a motorhome. Everyone said that due to her back we should get a diesel pusher because of the better ride with the air suspension. Our salesman was great too. He told us that motorhomes can have between 4 and 10 airbags and the more airbags the better and more stable the ride will be. He also suggested going used over new and getting a high end machine. He told us to be patient and he would find us the right coach. It took 10 months, but he did it. Five years ago we purchased a 42' 2006 Monaco Dynasty Class A diesel pusher. We are absolutely thrilled with our purchase. We even got to see the original build sheet. The original owner ordered the coach and back in 2006 they even paid an additional $4500 to upgrade the cabinets to solid cherry. We only part time, but we are very happy. I just found your channel and subscribed.
I’m so excited and happy for you all! I retired from teaching (special ed) three years ago after 37 years at 59 and it’s the best thing I ever did. I’m still deciding what to do next but I’m absolutely loving my life. I think you’re brave and smart to do this and I can’t wait to follow along as your lives continue to evolve.
Since I am retiring from the college, my package includes us staying on the college insurance plan until we are Medicare eligible at the same rates we would pay as if I was still working.
Very interesting. I think your logic in the entire 'puzzle' is very solid. You made a decision a year ago, but now you have new data to add to the decision matrix, and you change your conclusion. That is life, that is engineering, that is what it is, and that is the way it should be. I am keen to see the tour of your new rig. Sounds like you guys have a good plan of a path forward in place. I have been fortunate to be retired for several years now, and thus able to spend lots of time in our trailer, and I highly recommend it. :) As always, safe travels.
Retirement is the BEST job! Oh, and I'll take Patty's gin and tonic on a hot summer night out on a deck, or in a screen house in the campground. Can't wait for your walkthrough. I'm nosey (or curious) like our dog--when she sees an open door, she stands there waiting to be invited in for a look around!
Very excited for you guys! Enjoy your new RV! Also we love Princesscraft RV and their old bowling alley building (we remember the bowling alley before they bought it). They sold Alpenlites in their original location and we had an Alpenlite fifth wheel.
We essentially did the same thing. We bought our first RV, a Class C, in May of 2022 and traveled as vacationers in it for 2 years. Then in October of last year (2023), we decided to go full-time. Cheryl retired and got a remote professor position, so I could keep insurance as we have similar age-related issues. We took 9 months to sell the sticks and bricks and prep to move. We sold the class C, and yes I too lost💰on that deal, but I sold it privately to some friends who saw its value thanks to all the upgrades we made to it, and lost much less💸than we would have trading it in today's used market. We now have our new 45' RiverStone fifth wheel and have started our full-time life! The adventure begins. Haters gonna hate you because they ain't you, right? You guys have to do what's best for you, so congrats, and enjoy your new adventures!
Very Happy for the both of you! Like you stated, life is short do what makes you happy and don't worry about others negativity. Enjoy your adventures!!
You do you. We've just taken early retirement (end of April) after selling our house. Our rig is much smaller, so we had to downsize a lot, but have since the beginning of May been full-time on the road. It took a lot of research over the last few years as to what it would entail, especially financially. We have not regretted it one little bit. We know what you mean when you talk about losing family members and thinking about what the future holds for you. Live life now!
Congratulations on your new camper! Hopefully we'll get to see it someday. Having a goal to live debt free is a good thing! It will give you a new level of peace!
Hey guys, we have been away from TH-cam for a while. Glad to hear you guys are still growing. It’s always fun to check in and get an update. Just at disneyworld and wore our “ on down the road” t shirts.
Don't worry what other people think! You only Live once, live your life to the fullest. I love your new Fith wheel, that extra slide really makes a difference. great story
Happy for you guys! When first bought our Rpod in 2011, people were like "isn't staying at hotel cheaper?". Then we traded it in 2019 for Lance and people were like "so expensive- why?" So, feel your pain. You guys have a well out plan and know what makes you happy. Very happy for you guys (and a little jealous). 😍🥰
Congrats! Really appreciate this video as my husband and I are looking to move into an Alliance from our Cougar after 2 years. Your story gives us another option to consider. Enjoy your new RV!
I love your podcast rythum. I started watching you with your Tab 400. I wanted one of them and was saving up for it. Then you bought your Lance. So I researched and found one in my town! We ended buying that one. So far haven’t needed to move to a fifth wheel…. But when we retire we just might! Thank you for all of your content.
Good for you guys! Enjoy the time when you have it. We retired early about 18 months ago. Best thing we have ever done! $16k difference for the new unit? SOLD! And guess what? It's your money and even more your LIFE. Proceed with making memories 👍
I bought the same model earlier this month. Have always dealed with the same family owned dealership. They did me right with my 7 year old travel trailer I bought new from them in 2017. We are on our shakedown trip to Minnesota and Michigan.
Hi guys! We can absolutely relate to your story. We are currently trading in our 2024 coach on a 2025 Avenue 32RLS. We really loved this brand when we compared it to other brands at the RV show in Tampa. Alliance gives me the feeling that it's the working person's Brinkley. 😊We too are thinking that this purchase is part of our long term travel goals and it seems to make sense to do it now while we're working and have a disposable income. How has your 29RL been for the past 8 or so months now?
Congratulations on the new Alliance! We really like the 32RLS layout. Very similar to our 29RL but you get the bigger refrigerator, the bedroom slide and that big closet in the bedroom.
Been following you since your Hummingbird days. We’re done with RVING also. Sold our 2022 TAB 400 in June of 2023. Now we just do the tour bus with a bunch of other old farts. Love it don’t even have to think. Best of luck will keep watching. Have fun and happy travels.
Glad you are happy with the dealer. Not usually the case. We retired about 14 years ago. After the army I was in a Glass Factory for over 40 years. Rosie and I have been together 54 years. We spend winters in Arizona off grid outside of Yuma. Last year about this time we got our Brinkley 3100. Love it and the Brinkley folks are the best we have ever worked with (we knew some from Grand Design). Enjoy retirement it's awesome. Burlington Bill busking on the road and here on You Tube.
Good to see that there are customer-oriented dealers still out there. Our experience was good with our dealer in Michigan but when it came to the service department, our dealer was a bit lacking.
We are putting the puzzle pieces together right now. We bought a new Cardinal 23rk 5TH wheel and wanted it to be under 30ft to travel around the country AK national parks and other places. We are selling our house to our youngest son and his family on a land contract. The paperwork is being done for the sale. Are plan is to be able to stay on the property with the kids after our two years seeing the country. At that time we will upgrade to a bigger 5thwheel to live in full time comfortably hear in Michigan in the summers and winter where it's warm. So with the sale of the house we both don't have to draw our social security right away or our pensions. All I can say our finance guy got us set up right to live better then when both of us working full-time now. Enjoy your new Rv and keep the hard work upon the channel love watching you guys.
Glad to hear King's Camper is a great dealer. I drive past it every time I go camping. Hitting Wausau is a sign that i only have 90 minutes left to I arrive at my campsite😊 I lived in Wausau for 5 years and loved it up there. Once I hit StevensPoint and the pine trees are everywhere, i can feel the peace and calm over take me. Born and raised in Wi and never want to live anywhere else. Congrats on your plans. Just ignore naysayers. It is your money and if you can afford it that is all that matters!
Wow you both made so many of the same comments that I've made about our choices on what we spent our money on it amazes me how people friends and family feel it's their right to try to shame us on something we've bought two years ago we did a major downsize went from a class c to a B man oh man did we hear everyone's opinions on what a bad decision we made. We had reasons just like you. We're in a different season of our life we're retired and with age we wanted easier travel we live in NW Pennsylvania and our son lives in Wyoming and we wanted to be able to come out more often especially when a grandbaby comes and for us this was the answer we know it's not for everyone but it's working for us. Sorry this got so long but people making unnecessary comments about stuff that is no real concern for them strikes a nerve for me. Anyway congrats on your new RV it's beautiful and I'm happy for you both ❣️ safe travels and see you on down the road 👍👍👍👍👍
We switched after one year. We have an Alliance 26 RD 2023 now. We are weekend warriors but would love to go full time. Husband doesn’t want to though. We are the same age and I’m a teacher (retired) too. Do what is best for you!! Love your channel. ❤
Congratulations 🎉 the hardest part for me was parting with my decorations and odds and ends. You have beautiful home decor. Maybe a storage unit to cycle items. Enjoy life is short ❤
Sounds like everything fell together nicely for you! You are so right that life is short. We are not promised tomorrow. Looking forward to your future travels!
Congratulations on the new camper and retiring. I retired in 2019 and it's scary but so worth the stress of going thru that. And there is the thought of how did I get all this done when I worker 80 hours a week. Must of been a hit and miss job! 😅 but enjoy. Life is too short.
I get it! I was burn out with my Job of 39 years. I retired early and have no regrets. Well, maybe one. I could have retired 2 years sooner. Wish I had retired 2 years earlier. Continue the be RV!
You trigger people who don't have the courage to do the things you do. That's from where negative comments come. Today, you inspired me. Congratulations! But you didn't give timelines! When are you each retiring? When are you selling/moving in?
We are hoping to list our home on the market next spring can retire from our current jobs at the end of the upcoming school year. Hopefully this will be our last winter that we spend in Indiana.
Love to hear this! I have a quick question. Why do you pass on the warranty? We have a warranty that has paid for it's self and I have always heard that it's not if they break it's when. Would love to hear your thoughts. Enjoy the new rig!!
We've never bought a warranty mainly because we have heard horror stories about so many of them. Plus now we have Myron locally who can fix any issues we have and he is very affordable and quick.
You probably have this info in another video, but how do you handle the charging of your 3 250AH Li batteries? Is there a charge converter or something for when you're connected to the TV? Looks great too. Do what works for you - and thanks for the intro to Kings Campers. I was born in Wausau and raised in Green Bay. Enjoy!
The important thing is that you two are happy! Who cares what anyone else thinks! It’s not like you’re doing anything illegal or immoral, for goodness sakes. Anyway, congratulations! You are both obviously thrilled and that’s all that matters! You will love retirement, btw!
Congratulations on your new camper. We have a 2023 32RLS and really like it. We were originally looking at the 30RLS, but liked the east to west bed. Your camper is the new version of that model. What do you do at Happy Acres?
I'm thrilled for you guys! I looked at the lesser Alliance units and was appalled at how poor the fit & finish was too. Heck, even Lance was 10x better. Anywho, you got the one we want too! Did you get a 23 or 24 model?
Just found you. FYI. Look into the IRS rule 55. If I understand correctly you can access 401 without penalty when you retire and 55 or older. There are some considerations but do some digging.
good for you!!! So happy for you
I’m glad you mentioned about negative comments. Enough already. I’m with Patty - if it’s not for you - tune out. Life is very short. Enjoy your new rig. Safe and happy travels. Yes! Thank you!
It’s tough to put yourself out there knowing some people will judge you, but I think most people are happy for you. Live your dream!

@@poodleprofessor Marketplace healthcare plan. Been on one for 2 years and next year Medicare for me.
Thank you so much!

@@TRAVELSWITHDELANEYTHEPODCAST that’s a very good deal! Mine doesn’t do that.
Very nice! I very much enjoyed the steady thought process for the future. Well done!

@TRAVELSWITHDELANEYTHEPODCAST it's been rough but we're hoping to finally be in the house in September. It's been a long 2.5 years!
I am looking forward to the tour video. I am glad everything worked out for you.
Congratulations 🎉 can’t wait for the new RV tour. ❤
I bought the same model earlier this month. Have always dealed with the same family owned dealership. They did me right with my 7 year old travel trailer I bought new from them in 2017. We are on our shakedown trip to Minnesota and Michigan.
Congratulations on your new 29RL. We are loving the layout so far. Feels more like a home than an RV. which is what we wanted.
Hi guys! We can absolutely relate to your story. We are currently trading in our 2024 coach on a 2025 Avenue 32RLS. It's very refreshing to find such an amazing dealer. We definitely got lucky.
Good to see that there are customer-oriented dealers still out there. Our experience was good with our dealer in Michigan but when it came to the service department, our dealer was a bit lacking.
We were blown away by this dealership. It's nice to finally find a dealership that gets it.
So happy for you both!! ❤
Thank you so much!
Love that quote from Ted Lasso! Congrats on your new rig!
I love that quote too! I believe it was actually a Walt Whitman quote that they used in Ted Lasso. It really stuck with me.
Congratulations- we will have to keep that dealer on our radar when we’re ready to upgrade 🍻
We are putting the puzzle pieces together right now. We bought a new Cardinal 23rk 5TH wheel and wanted it to be under 30ft to travel around the country AK national parks and other places. Enjoy your new Rv and keep the hard work upon the channel love watching you guys.
Congratulations!!!🎉 We’re so happy for you! When is Retirement Day? Kudos to both of you for living your best life now!
Thank you! We are hoping to "retire" from our current jobs in May 2025.

Congrats! Enjoy. Our 5th wheel is 29ft. Perfect for us.
We loved our 27' but for full time living, we just knew we would be more comfortable in this one. Plus we need the space to run our ebay business
Hi...we had a Lance 2295 for 8 years and loved it and just bought a 2024 Alliance Avenue 29rl...yours looks like mine and we love it...
Glad you got a RV that will work for you. Hope you got a chance to stop and get some good Wisconsin cheese curds when you were in Wisconsin.
So funny our poodle can't hold his licker either.
Soooo excited and happy for you!!!😁👍💜👏👏👏. God bless you!💜🙌✝️
Hey, your money, your buisiness! DO what makes you happy!
Yeah!!! Don’t second guess!! You are on the right path for you!! Come to the redwoods again!
Good for you guys... you don't need to explain yourself to anyone 😊😊
Thank you so much!
Go for it!
Thank you!
For a 16K difference, a bit above 5k for 3 years? Heck yes! Good for you. 🤗
Enjoy!
What type of pickup truck do you use to tow this RV?
Silverado 2500 HD gas
Do you still have your “Meet me by the fire” sign. I LOVE that sign!!
What % of discount do try to get.
I always try to get 30% off the msrp. Just know that dealers will play with the numbers especially if you are trading in.
The important thing is that you two are happy! Who cares what anyone else thinks! It’s not like you’re doing anything illegal or immoral, for goodness sakes. Anyway, congratulations! You are both obviously thrilled and that’s all that matters! You will love retirement, btw!
No one has ever said I need something smaller
LOL....very true
No need to justify your choices. Live with your cup half full! We can't wait to see it in person with a private tour. Camp Happy!
You will definitely get that private tour anytime you want Mary!
Tell me about your headphones please
They are AudioTechnica brand. We purchase them on Amazon.
Congratulations on your new camper. We have a 2023 32RLS and really like it. We were originally looking at the 30RLS, but liked the east to west bed. Your camper is the new version of that model. What do you do at Happy Acres?
Did you look at Brinkley specifically the Z2900?
No justification is needed. Do it now, while you're still able to! You do you.
In boating they call that "3-foot-itis." Although in this case it's more like 5 foot itis. :)
I'm thrilled for you guys! I looked at the lesser Alliance units and was appalled at how poor the fit & finish was too. Heck, even Lance was 10x better. Anywho, you got the one we want too! Did you get a 23 or 24 model?
You only live once. Safe travels. Live YOUR life.
Thank you! Hope we can meet up again soon!
I'm glad you are living your life. Life is unpredictable. My video coming out this Friday details changes to my life and channel. Enjoy it!
Can't wait to see your video!
Just found you. FYI. Look into the IRS rule 55. If I understand correctly you can access 401 without penalty when you retire and 55 or older. There are some considerations but do some digging.
Ignore anyone who criticize. It’s none of their business. Hit delete, delete, delete!
Life is too short. Do what makes you happy. It’s a waste to sit around saying “what if”. Enjoy life.
