    Probably the best combination of price, fun, and personal defense that currently exists on the market.

      its not sadly, even if this is true Eric Harris was a imentaly ill person. Yea he a someone that people looked at as a friends and all but he and Dylan changed the world on that day. I was a student there and I was in the library when it happened. I witnessed my friends Cassey Burnall get her face blown by a shotgun.

    I still have my OG 995, it's still a fine shooter and works like a top since day one. (got it as a birthday gift in 1999 when I was in my teens)

    "The casual shooter" is an angle that is often overlooked. Some of us either cannot afford to "tac out" a weapon or, simply choose to leave the weapon "bone stock". The reasons are numerous. Our lives are filled with demands on our incomes and for some of us, we derive pleasure from buying an inexpensive gun and simply plinking with it. I cannot count the number of times I've been to the range and some guy with a $200 gun is out-shooting another dude with a $3000 gun.

      I agree. I think shooting is fun, but I look at the ROI, and spending say $2000 on a rifle that I'm only going to be shooting every so often is not a good investment. On the other hand if I was back in America (I'm back in Korea now) and had my own land than I would be encouraged to shoot more often, and then I would invest in a more expensive rifle. However for now this works for me.

    • @rjhisle1973
      @rjhisle1973  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's right. I like shooting, but when I look at my free time, plus financial goals, it doesn't make sense for me to plucking down huge sums of cash on a weapon that I'll only be shooting for fun. For now I'll stick with the old Hi-Point.

    I love the concept of "casual shooting". Great video, thanks for posting. I have both of the Hi Point carbine versions in 9mm, love 'em. It's my understanding that the reason for the 10 round clip was Hi Point wanted a nationwide '94 gun ban compliant weapon, so every American household could, within the parameters of the current law, defend home and hearth in an affordable manner. The Classic as you see here, I refer to as "Ugly Betty", as in the old TV show character... short on looks, but fun, reliable and dependable. Again, well done, Thanks!

    I had the 995....changed the stock to the TS, and lost the old stock :( derp! Mine had the original stock but it was nickel or chrome instead of black metal finish. Now its just a straight 995TS.

    I have an ar, glock, scorpion and so on. Just picked up the 10mm version of this one. They're ugly as hell, but still cool. I intend on getting the bullpup stock for it, that'll not only make it look cooler, but the take down will be a lot easier too.

    Hey I got the original one I put money down on a shotgun when I was a kid and I took forever to get there he sold it anyway I bought this because it was cheap I took it to the range everybody shooting I had Target 35 yards out I thought I was missing and this when I first bought it didn't even know how to shoot it so I started aiming at the little metal pole that was like a 2 in wide that held up the targets I could hear bullets hitting it like five times in a row and a guy started yelling anyway it's a really accurate gun 5000 rounds never had a misfire never cleaned it still waiting for that malfunction rock and roll

    I have the same model,it's a little insulting in the comments section that people associated this gun with those horrible shootings. That's just wrong, because the wrong person used this gun for that, don't give them any credits for that. If that's the case, the AR, AK ARE IN THAT SAME CATEGORY. More respect for those victims and family members. Come on guys we read the comments section. Blessings to the families.

      Bri Guy I looked on armslist.com and I found some for over $200. Considering this is for the old version of the 995 I think it holds it value pretty well. Thanks for asking.
