Trust me, it's way worse to play several board games with a woman you love only for her to fall out of love and abandon you during the worst pandemic of the century, leaving you with only the haunting memories of your time spent together along with dozens of board games you can't play with anyone because now you live alone. You'll look over your collection every day and remember her smile and enthusiasm, forever a memory as you wonder why this keeps happening, why you seem unfit for anyone to simply love and live with.
Sounds very similar to how plain the original Boss Monster game was without the items expansion, at least in this case the advanced game is included in the base game so you don't have to buy it separately. Glad I Kickstarted this, looking forward to trying it out, thanks!
Boss monster does need some extra objectives with objective bonuses, hopefully to mitigate the steamrolling effect. I'm a bit behind on my collection of the card game due to the pandemic. The board game looks like it could have some real potential.
There's another tile type, called "Towers", as well. They might be a kickstarter exclusive right now, not sure, but we have them in our copy. Towers are worth one point each, plus one additional point per token on them. They also have a unique ability: you can place up to 3 tokens on a tower tile, stacking them so that only the most recently placed token is visible, and it is not considered "full" until it hits that 3 limit. Only the topmost token is considered when checking for bands or monster placement bonuses (the monster associated with the tower is the Beholder).
This honestly looks like a kind of game I could have some fun messing around with, but my lord, I feel like you might need to play the game inorder to prosses all the math of the scoreing and rules. It's ceritanly sounds like something I would at least try but not something that I would toss my wallet at; this is one of my personal favorite seires and I say this is a fair and something a bit over the top to have it all go off with a big a bang it could muster from it's small fanbase. Also, out of morbid curiousty, what was it about Boss Monster that you didn't like?
6:45 those aren't the desert tiles, those are the orc camp tiles. The scoring for connected desert tiles are 0/2/6/12/20
