Glad Pathos addressed that line release. Safety is a nice touch. Another issue I had with the DII handle though was the distance from the grip to the trigger, particularly on the universal grips. I needed to really reach with my index to pull the trigger. I wasn’t the only one experiencing this. Good update from Pathos otherwise and glad you showcased it.
I swapped out my Trigger mechanism to the new style Earlier this year and used it this summer On my 95 pathos sniper roller. I had to do a little grinding but It is much easier and faster to load now

One is different all together and the most basic model, D2 has SS housing and trigger pull along with grip options, D3 is for Sniper model has different shape due to barrel. Newest mechs now use side line release
The main problem with pathos mechs is that they cannot handle heavy loads. If you load two or three bands it is almost sure that they will eventually stack and you will lose a big fish … been many times in this situation… be careful
sold easily 800 Pathos spearguns over the years.... no issues not even once. This is counting the Sniper R with full load and kicker bands. I know there is a guy out there claiming what you mentioned who does pool testing but does not line up with our experiences here
@@NautilusSpearfishing the plastic trigger mech is much more reliable and much cheaper. Metallic one has issues due to friction of the metals. If you follow Greek spear fishing forums you will see that is not only one guy that says this but many guys… I have more than 5 pathos myself and all of them have the plastic mech. You sell them so you should defend them… no problem with that … just be accurate . Cheers!
@@m6r6m6 No worries I am just going by experience as a dealer.... literally zero problems with the SS mechs out of hundreds if not thousand spearguns sold over the last 6 years. I will repeat zero issues with factory mech. I have heard there was a bad batch of SS that might of made its way to European market but in USA we have not had any problems.

If you ever have a chance to come over to my part of the world I would be more than happy to show you. Although I haven't sold 800 pathos guns, I have tried at least 50 guns with the SS trigger and all have the same issue. You lose accuracy after some shots due to the trigger not releasing at the correct time because the sears have been scarred due to galling. You can actually see the groups of shots "walk" on the target as the release point changes. Accuracy might not be important if you are shooting at fish in a hole from 30cm away ... but if you are hunting in places where you need to take shots at 3m or longer ... it can make a huge difference. I will say that this is not only an issue with Pathos and I don't want to seem picking on Pathos... this is a problem with any reverse trigger that uses friction triggers.

I know what you mean... For me my hand wraps it enough that I don't have to reach far.. on a BleuTec I do and kinda annoying haha

By far the best handle trigger combo from Pathos is the D1 handle and plastic trigger.

@@majdq8 Can you "upgrade" from the D'Angelos 2 to the Ermes sub D'Angelos 1? I heard this solves the issue.
