    Visited Andrew's shop for the first time a few weeks ago. Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff and awesome shop with everything a person could want. I bought this gun in the 100cm single roller version and couldn't be happier with the quality and performance after several uses and plenty of big fish. I set it up as a single wrap with the shooting line replaced for a straight run from the reel - no issues whatsoever! Also added a tubed load assist on the wishbone (see how to on another video from these guys) and made loading a lot easier. Also see their video on how to use that free-spooling reel. It took a lot of guess-work out of how to use the reel correctly the first time out. Keep up the excellent work guys!

    These guys are great, very friendly! I got this gun today and I’m stoked to try it out on the water.

    Camera mount does come with the gun btw, bought it straight from mvd, came with reel full of dyneema and camera mount. Bought the roller version. Very cheap but good quality, super accurate, and good power. Better price for what you are getting compared to any other brand, rob allen, omer, pathos etc.

      Hey Dalon, i bought an mvd invert roller and havent had the chance to try it out yet. Hows the performance in the water?

      Jacob Korz Now that you used it. Are you satisfied? What’s the range of the gun ? Is it accurate?

    • @dalonfrench789
      @dalonfrench789 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Spearfishing Nation definitely satisfied with the performance of the gun it’s great ! The range is really good as well I got the 82cm version of it and it’s gods plenty of power. I’ve shot 26in mangrove snapper, cobia etc. it’s a great gun. I’ve shot more fish with this gun than any of my others combined. And I’ve had it for less time.

    Hello! I'm about to get a shorter ( 82 ) inverted roller version of this gun, equiped with 3 x 14.5 mm Rob Alen bands ( small ID hole) , and with Pathos 6.75mm spear ( previous owner badly bended original spear against the rock ) , so I'm curious about gun's balance and recoil : is it possible to disassemble muzzle and handle assemblies and put some additional weight ( or lead weight combined with some floating material into the barrel ) in order to make it heavier , balanced and with less recoil ( if needed , of course ) ? Thanks in advance .. BRGDS

      You can add muzzle weights to help, we didn't do it on these though. The combo you mentioned should do well

    Dont be fool, MVD zeso handle is version 2 now and it looks way cheaper for the same price. They remove all small metallic pieces they could... Overall look is cheaper. Example is the security knob which is plastic made now... Obviously they dont that on their website.... Avoid MVD

    Which pipe gun do you like better, this one, Salvimar Hero, Patho, or the Rob Allen? Nice videos, thank you

    • @NautilusSpearfishing
      @NautilusSpearfishing  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No probs.... The Hero is tough to compare due to shaped barrel... Out the others you mentioned I would take the MVD personally just feel right and the handle is IMO better designed.

      Hello again ! I just got this gun ( 82 barrel with changed factory rubbers by Rob Alen's 3 * 14.5 mm ) and I noticed that the gun is setup with no prestretch at all and the bands are pretty "loose"; the gun had a nice amount of headroom from pulley to the muzzle head when loaded, so in order to get some more slings elongation and power I shortened the "loading" dyneema for some 12 cm , and get what I wanted : when in loaded state , bands are now stretched to some 310% almost all the way to the muzzle ( there is still some 2 - 2.5 cm of headroom to the head pulleys) , BUT now when gun is in "resting" state the primary rubbers ( ones that are always connected to each other through the gun' s handle) are stretched for some 10% ( from initial 24 cm to 26 cm ) so my dilema is : in your experience - is it safe to keep it stored this way ( when not in use for a few months ) because of the properties of those primary rubbers ? Otherwise, there is another solution: I could separate those primary rubbers, put an 4mm stainless steel pin ( "anchor") through the existing hole in the gun's handle ( it could fit in ) which are rubbers now connected through ( by dyneema) and before hunt I could separately anchor each primary rubber to that pin ... Just thinking if that 10% of constant stretch is worth of this modification ? I ask this because I already have two pretty heavy wooden inverters , with significant prestretch ( around 80%) and they mustn't be kept in prestretched state when stored in order not to deterioriate the rubbers . Thanks in advance . BRGDS

    hi andrew which mechanism do you prefer mvd or meandros or ermessub

    • @NautilusSpearfishing
      @NautilusSpearfishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      all good.... I personally don't like roller mechs as the axle tends to seize over time or break. I have been using MVD on my customs from open muzzle to double roller or inverted setups with no issues so far.
