Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign. Apes are the dominant species living harmoniously with one another and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape will undertake a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.

Andy Serkis performances in the trilogy is beyond amazing . He needed to win the Oscar for best actor , but never happen .
I know right, back in the 2017 Oscars, I was very mad they didn't bother to give this actor honorary achievement award for best actor in the motion capture role, Andy Serkis totally deserve it.

Sadly, they don't normally give EFX related actors oscars, and rely on the movie as a whole for EFX-but I do agree, Andy certainly deserved it.

Andy Serkis is such a phenomenal actor! What he did with Caesar in all three movies is beyond amazing. I am looking forward to see the world that is set 300 or 400 years after War for the Planet of the Apes.

I could imagine him being a leader like Caesar, just wanting to live in solidarity and equality, even having ape friends who he keeps safe, maybe rebels of Proximus.

I always LOVED Andy Serkis from becoming The 'KING Of Motion Capture Roles' from playing Gollum, King Kong, Captain Haddock and Caesar, I'll still watch Kingdom of the Apes even though Serkis ain't in it but his legacy will continue.

Getting my boy Andy Serkis in the marketing as much as possible is a big deal. Legend! Between how much 20th Century is posting on their TH-cam about this movie and with some of the more physical in reality marketing we’re seeing with the apes on horseback on the California beaches, we are in for something good here. You don’t market a movie that much if it isn’t showing promise.

Been a Apes fan all my life and I think the opposite, like they got him in on it because of UNDER CONFIDENCE in the movie, same with all the Hyping [one TH-cam had some pretty big spoilers in it]
@@kumachan9311 if you think this is the case, then you actually do not know the bigger details as to why he’s on board this project at least for the marketing. You do realize he is the one who has been doing stop motion in this kind of visual effects since the Lord of the rings movies right? he might not be acting in the movie but he definitely helped with the CGI and stuff because he’s the pioneer. He even says in the video that this franchises important to him he wouldn’t hop on if the movie wasn’t good.
I don't understand why people are so excited about this movie. Why did they get this director? Most of his movies are terrible and shallow. Dawn and war were incredibly profound movies made by a top tier director. The preview makes it look like a forgettable popcorn movie

i'm glad that this movie is going to be a seamless transition from the previous trilogy, with similar vibes and atmosphere, even though it'll have a completely new cast of characters and set almost 300 years into the future. a brilliant continuation, and i can't wait to be able to watch this

I honestly hope in the future films show flashbacks to Caesar’s reign as a way to honor the original trilogy but acknowledge its it’s own trilogy
The Academy should finally do this man right and have a special oscar category for Motion Capture acting performances (Mocap) named after him.
Andy should get a special achievement award but an award every year isn't needed. There are very, very few truly exceptional mocap performances and certainly not enough to award one per year. It would also push the industry to overuse it simply to get awards

Maybe you haven't seen or acknowledged mocap performances but they have been around quite a long time now. Superhero, sci-fi and fantasy movies have been flush with them for over twenty years now with no recognition. The reason why you don't notice most of the great ones is because the most notable are usually done by Andy!! Mocap is not going anywhere and will be used more and more regardless. If anything, adding an actual award dedicated to it will add the type of prestige where actors will want to put in performances worthy of praise.

If this is going to be a new trilogy that leads up to the original Planet of the Apes it would be really interesting to see if the apes features slowly become more human as they evolve eventually looking ever closer to the original makeup, its doubtful they will but it would be amazing if it was all leading up to the events of the original.

I believe this Dystopia city might be the city of 'Los Angles'. Reason why believe one of the structures was once an airport might of been a Los Angeles International Airport, which means the observatory that Noa and Mae were in might have be the Griffith Observatory.

I thought it said Legacy of the Planet of the Apes and now I have a suggestion for the title of the final movie
I love the Ape movies, however I just wish they would more from epic story telling to character based. I would have loved to have seen how the Ape society grew from when Caesar died. Telling the same old story that Apes and Humans don't get along is nothing new but how they would face the challenges as a community would. Hoping that's what the new saga is moving to as opposed to more war and conflict.

We shall see. Movies of late are sketchy at best, there is no reason, at present, to assume this movie will be any less so.
Also, the last 3 movies are character studies. They are very focused on character, not adventure. That’s not what I got from this trailer. Doesn’t mean it can’t be good, but it’s certainly very different from what the last trilogy
