This romance comes as close to perfection as anything ever composed. I'm brought to tears every time.
No matter how much stress and worries I have--I can always count on Beethoven to take them away while listening to his wonderful music! MUSIC alone will speak when words fail!!
Anne-Sophie Mutter is an angel.
I have had the privilege over many decades to attend several of this consummate musician's performances.
A lady of grace, charm, humour and exquisite dress sense.

This music takes me flying high over the Pacific Ocean on a now scrapped Qantas Queen of the Skies. Every time I hear Beethoven's Romance No 2 in F Major I'm lying back in one of the big pods. Even though my feet are permanently on the ground I'll always remember listening in the darkness of the aeroplane cabin to this magnificent music.
Perfection in music by a such a brilliant composer. Played by a maestro. I play this on my church organ after Mass .
Whether it is Beethoven's great music or the violin solo performance with the accompaniment of the orchestra under the baton, they are all excellent.

Al these concerts were cancelled.
O.k., she said she did have the virus, but also says, several symptoms were psychosomatic.
I don't know why she then told, she fears the virus, bc. on the other side she said she has overcome the illness very well.
There is a lot of political pressure --> to "support the virus-story" - this is all I can tell.

Sorry for my English, but this is a violin “romance” not concerto. Beethoven did 2 of these as wonderful single movement pieces. This one is my favorite too!

How beautiful. What can you say.
While a greater performer, I always Anne-Sophie Mutter always a bit imprecise, either in timing or intonation and this performance does clarify that even more to me.
Excellent playing from both the soloist and orchestra. That said, I think that I like the interpretation of Heifetz much better. I feel that a lot of the shorter, more staccato sections that Mutter added don't fit the mood of the piece as well. Don't take this wrong, both players are amazing, I just prefer Heifetz's interpretation. I would recommend listening to both and deciding for yourself though, it's mostly my personal preference.

@Luigi Raimondo Pomo I think about who would be my favorite musician periodically. It ends up being Tchaikovsky. I discovered the 🎻 concerto years ago, I mean half century. He does so many radically different styles. I heard a piece this month if never heard. Anyhow thanks for the conversation!!

Sweet Anne-Sophie natural born violinist. One fine crafted piece of work she's having on her arms. Could easily cost arms and leg. I still prefer her playing Vivaldi.
